Hampyeong Butterfly Festival

The Hampyeong Butterfly Festival offers visitors the opportunity to get a closer look at ecology, in particular the region’s butterflies. During the festival period, the whole town of Hampyeong is a “Happy and bountiful world with butterfly,” covered with butterfly-themed lights and decorations. A medley of butterfly-themed events and programs shed some lights on one of nature’s most beautiful and delicate creatures, all while providing fun for the whole family. In addition to numerous exhibition halls featuring butterflies, insects, and water plants, there is even a “hands-on” area where visitors can see and touch a variety of animals and plants! Seomjingang Riverside Cherry Flower Festival
Jeollanam-do(Gurye-gun)

The Seomjingang Riverside Cherry Blossom Festival will be held in Jukma-ri, Muncheok-myeon, Gurye-si. Visitors can enjoy walking along Seongjingang River decorated with lines of cherry blossom trees. Jeongwol Daeboreum Event of Korean Folk Village
Gyeonggi-do(Yongin-si)

Jeongwol Daeboreum falls on January 15 each year on the lunar calendar, and always takes places on the full moon. It is the brightest moon of the year, and a day for telling fortunes and a national holiday in Korea. The Korean Folk Village plans a special Jeongwol Daeboreum event each year to celebrate. The event features traditional Daeboreum activities including burning daljip (brushwood), Jangseungje ceremony, Byeotgaritdae seugi (making a stack of rice straw), Jisinbapgi and Gilnori, sharing Boreum food and special performances like Bukcheong Saja Noreum (play about lions), juldarigi (tug-of-war) and more.
