The clear waters that are highlighted with cobalt-blue and the clean sand of Gimnyeong Beach (김녕해수욕장) steal the hearts of visitors every year. The beach is popular with fishermen who enjoy rope fishing from the rocks. This area is known to be good for catching striped beakfish and spotty belly greenlings. Not far from the beach is Manjanggul Cave, which offers a welcome escape from the daytime heat.

Access

From Jeju International Airport take bus No. 100 and get off at the Intercity Bus Terminal (제주시외버스터미널) and from there take a bus for Gimnyeong Beach (김녕해수욕장행). The trip will normally take 50~60 minutes.

From Jeju International Airport take bus No. 38 and get off at Hamdeok-ri (함덕리). There catch a bus for the East Coast (동일주) or an Eup-myeon circulation bus (읍면순환 버스)and get off at Gimnyeong Beach (김녕해수욕장행).
