This hanok (traditional Korean house) hotel combines the unique aesthetics of hanok and modern comfort. Its location near Jeonju Hanok Village, the central point of Jeonju tourism, gives it excellent access to destinations in Jeonju. As evident from its name, the hotel promises a comfortable stay in a hanok since its opening in 2018. The hotel complex stands on a plot of land spanning 19,840 m2, containing 11 residential buildings that are named after the Joseon kings and other facilities. The building Sukjonggwan contains four rooms. Each room is a self-contained unit made up of bedrooms and restrooms, furnished with a combination of hanok’s unique charms and modern comfort. Grade 1 Gold and Silver Rooms in particular have two beds and a whirlpool bathtub for the comfort of the guests. The view of the wooden exposed beams (Gold Room) speaks to the unique characteristics of hanok, while wooden pieces of furniture give the room an elegant finish. The scenery beyond the window wall is also the pride of the hotel. The hotel has about 150 parking spots, a hanok cafe, and the Convention Center with spaces such as Daejanggeum Hall, Saimdang Hall, Chungmugong Hall, and Hunminjeongeum Hall. Samtaegeuk and Samjogo Restaurants are designated as COVID-19 Safe Restaurants by the city of Jeonju. It takes only 10 min by car to reach most tourist sites in Jeonju Hanok Village.

Located in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do Province, Namusae is a hanok-style pension that was built in 2011. It is surrounded by beautiful scenery and boasts a panoramic view of Palbongsan Mountain from the front of the building and the Hongcheongang River below. It consists of various types of independent and convenient hanok buildings, including rooms equipped with the Korean style of floor heating system (ondol), rooms with beds, a modern-style kitchen, and high ceilings. The pension’s buildings were constructed with pine wood from Unduryeong Hill at Gyebangsan Mountain, while the interiors were made with natural red clay, charcoal and pyroligneous liquor. Guests can enjoy diverse leisure activities as the pension is adjacent to the famous resort Vivaldi Park (10 minutes’ drive).

Hinokijam is a two-story traditional Japanese wooden house accommodation located on Modern Culture and History Street of Gunsan. The guesthouse is unique in that you can experience the modern cultural and history as well as the quiet and still atmosphere of Japan in South Korea. As it is located on Modern Culture and History Street, most guests staying at the guesthouse are travelers without a car. It also offers affordable room rates. There is a total of seven guest rooms in Hinokijam. Since the guest rooms have slightly different structures, you should check the details before confirming the booking. The Kkotnimbang and Sarangbang rooms are big enough for two guests and the Dalnimbang room is big enough for three guests. All of the guest rooms are ondol rooms. Only the Kkotnimbang room has a bathroom outside. The Sarangbang and Dalnimbang rooms have bathrooms inside. The Gureumbang and Byeolnimbang rooms, and the Haneulbang room on the second floor can accommodate four guests. The Haetnimbang room, which is the largest room, can accommodate from four to eight guests. The guest rooms for four people or more have beds and bathrooms. Apart from the Haetnimbang room, all guest rooms have basic room rates for one guest. In the morning, the guesthouse provides simple breakfast with toast and beverages. Gunsan Modern History Museum, Jinpo Marine Park, Dongguksa Temple, Gunsan History Museum, and Teddy Bear Museum are within walking distance from the guesthouse. On Modern Culture and History Street, you can find Leesungdang, the oldest bakery in South Korea, and Jjambbong Street.

'Andong City in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province is a town of culture and folk traditions where one can trace the long history of eminent families. It is also a symbol of time-honored tradition to the extent that the name Andong reminds people of traditional Korean hanok houses. Isangru, an ancient hanok house with a history of 2,590 years, located in the foothills of Mt. Cheondeungsan, served as a venue for the memorial rite for Kim Seon-pyeong, the progenitor of the Andong Kim clan and a meritorious government official during the reign of King Taejo of the Goryeo Dynasty. Isangru, meaning ‘a tall majestic building built on frosty ground’, is a two-story wooden building with a tiled roof characterized by elegant curves that form a half-hipped shape when viewed from the side. The house consists of two accommodations, Taejangtaesa and Isangru, arranged in a ‘ㅁ’ shape. The large door located in the middle of the ground floor offers an open view of the beautiful natural environment including a pine grove, a pond, and wild flowers. Built in 1750, this hanok house shows its age in its wooden pillars, stone walls, and interiors decorated with wooden engraving on the handrail. Guests can stay in a room heated with wood in winter, or in a tent for a different experience in summer. The house has been well maintained with various repair works, and underwent extensive renovations, including the wallpaper and floors, in 2013. Although it is close to a road, the house is surrounded by old trees, creating the impression that it is situated in the middle of a dense forest. A path runs between ancient pine trees on the road leading to the house. There is a pond with water lilies and white lotus flowers in front of the house, while various species of wild flowers including big blue lily turf, plantain lily, montane aster, and asters come into full bloom around the house in their respective seasons. Fully maintained by the Andong Kim clan, Isangru is a large structure that can accommodate many people and is used to hold clan assemblies. This tall building is also used as a venue for concerts, seminars and traditional hands-on experience programs for students, including tea ceremony, masked dance, natural dyeing, hanji (Korean paper) crafts, and filial duty education programs. The house also offers guests a traditional nobleman’s dining table including various wild vegetable dishes for breakfast. Isangru is popular among Korean and foreign guests who want to experience traditional Korean culture or enjoy a relaxing stay with their parents amid beautiful nature. In addition, it is located between Hahoe Folk Village and Dosanseowon Confucian Academy in Andong, and offers easy access to other nearby tourist attractions including Bongjeongsa Temple, which is the oldest wooden building in Korea and is just three minutes’ drive away, and the two-hour-long Dulegil Trail.

'As a 5-story building with 29 guestrooms, Shani Motel is located a mere 7 minutes away from Buan Intercity Bus Terminal on foot. All the rooms are clean and spacious. The motel has handicap parking spaces, handicap entrance ramp, and braille blocks for both the physically challenged and the visually impaired. No pets are allowed, except for guide dogs. Stay Gajin is a pension located on Gajinhaebyeon-gil in Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do, facing the East Sea. Nestled between Gajin Port and Gonghyeonjin 2(i)-ri Beach, all of the nine guest rooms at Stay Gajin are ocean view rooms. A noticeable feature that captures the attention as soon as one walks into the guest room is the full wall window that reveals an open view of the East Sea. Since there are no entertainment facilities or other accommodation facilities around Stay Gajin, you can fall asleep peacefully while listening to the soothing sound of waves. In the morning, you can enjoy the luxury of waking up to the glorious sunrise in the East Sea. There is one guest room on the first floor, and it can accommodate up to four guests. On the second floor, there are four guest rooms, all of which are for two guests only. The fours guest rooms on the third floor which are the most popular guest rooms in Stay Gajin, are two-story rooms. The kitchen and living room are on the first floor, and the second floor is decorated as the bedroom area. The room is basically for two people, but it is big enough for up to four guests. Every guest room has its own kitchen where guests can cook, and a bathtub where they can enjoy lower-body bathing with a view of the sea. There is also a rooftop area reserved for guests and a cafe on the premises for food and beverages. Guests have great access to the nearby beach across the street from Stay Gajin. It is not a popular beach, so it does not attract many visitors; guests can enjoy a quiet outing like a private beach.
