INJE HOTEL

Located in Inje-eup, Inje Hotel has 36 rooms in a building with 7 floors above the ground and 2 floors in the basement. In addition to 22 regular rooms, there are VIP Room, large Ondol Room, and Special Room that can be used by different numbers of people and for various occasions. The VIP Room is a twin room equipped with a sofa and table. There is a communal shower facility outside the room that can be used when the bathroom en suite is occupied. There is a Korean restaurant on the first floor. The flower bed and tea table outside the first floor is a great place to rest. A free fax machine and a vending machine for beverage and ramen are located in the lobby. There is also a water purifier with hot water and a microwave that can be used to prepare snacks. Brewed coffee is available all the time. You can have an unobstructed view of Inje town in the lounge on the 7thfloorofthehotel. Being near the Inje Intercity Bus Terminal, Inje Hotel gives a good access to public transportation and tourist attractions such as Inje Mountain Village Folk Museum, Inje Culture & Welfare Center, and Inje Theme Park which are located within 1km from the hotel.

Samcheok Fishing Village Folk Museum

Located inside of Haesindang Park, the Samcheok Fishing Village Folk Musuem is a new type of exhibition hall, comprised of a grand video aquarium, living cultural materials and equipment of fisherman of the eastern coast and various hands-on programs. Visitors can learn about folk cultures from over the world at the museum. The museum overlooks the East Sea and uniquely formed rocks and stones. The facility opened in 2002.

Sundam Valley (순담계곡)

Located five kilometers northwest of Cheorwon-gun Office, Sundam (순담계곡) is one of the most beautiful valleys among the branches of the Hantangang River (한탄강). It offers diverse views of fascinating rock-formations, steep cliffs and ponds. The valley is filled with abundant water, trimmed by rare naturally white sand. Also, the stream behind the valley attracts many rafters each year.

21th DongGang International Photo Festival 2023  The Magical Unknowns We cordially invite you to submit your creative work to the prestigious 21st DongGang International Photo Festival, taking place from July 21st to September 24th, 2023, in the picturesque Yeongwol, Korea. ▲ DongGang International Photo Festival 2022 Curiosity, the desire to explore the unknown, is an inherent human need. The unknown may encompass not only what is completely unfamiliar but also what is presently disregarded or avoided. Often, uncharted territories have had the most profound impact on human history, whether previously unknown, unimagined, or simply neglected. The unknown need not be solely enigmatic or sacred. Whatever it may be, it holds its own irreplaceable magic. Those who are receptive to the unknown have the privilege of unlocking its mysteries and experiencing its wonder. Venturing into the unknown can be an extremely liberating and world-changing experience. What stories and secrets do the countless mysteries of the world hold? How will these magnificent narratives unfold? The sheer thrill of the hidden secrets and magic within the seemingly mundane and trivial can be utterly exhilarating! Individuals and collectives are welcome to apply; individuals should submit between 8 - 12 photographs from a particular series or body of work. Selected 15 - 20 artists including ‘Artist of the year’ (individual artist or 1 team of winner) will benefit from: A-year-long exhibition that exposures at the DIPF Festival - inclusion in art magazine, any related press (long term festival representation and promotion on official website, publications, catalog that being seen by a substantial number of visual arts professionals and the media) where the works viewed by an international panel of influential experts in the field of photography * 'Artist of the year' - solo exhibition at DIPF (production - printing, framing or related presentation material will be provided) and eligible for travel and accommodation to attend the opening.   SUBMISSION GUIDELINES   1. GENERAL Objectives DongGang International Photo Festival aims to feature a quality selection of photography projects from around the world. DIPF’s open call is devoted to offering a platform and supporting photography, showcasing photography and related media from emerging and established artists. Venue_ The selected photographs will be presented to DongGang International Photo Festival in DongGang in main exhibition space, outdoor space and screening at the opening ceremony. Sangwonsa Temple (Wonju) (상원사(원주)
Gangwon-do(Wonju-si)

Nestled at the edge of Chiaksan Mountain’s (alt. 1,182m) Namdaebong Peak, Sangwonsa Temple was built on an area spanning over 100 pyeong (330.59㎡). Cool spring water gushes up through the crevice directly in front of the temple, and just before the crevice is a 40-meter high cliff at the end of which stand three rare specimens of cinnamon trees. Although the exact time of its foundation is unknown, it is assumed to have been built during the Silla Period. Designated as Tangible Cultural Heritage No. 25, the temple has two pagodas standing in front of Daeungjeon Hall, displaying the typical style that was popular in the Unified Silla Period, and hinting at the flourishing Buddhist culture of that time. As the temple is located on high land, it commands a sweeping view of the southern part of Chiaksan Mountain. * Historical Site of Sangwonsa Temple Existing structures include Daeungjeon Hall (designated as Cultural Heritage Material No. 18 on June 2, 1984) and others including Simudang, Simgeomdang, Beomjonggak, Sansingak, etc. The two pagodas in front of Daeungjeon became popular throughout the nation after the unification of the Three Kingdoms. The tips of these pagodas are rounded with a lotus bud carved on each one, making these pagodas extremely unique.

Manhae Village

한국문학사의 대표적 시인이자 불교의 대선사, 민족운동가로 일제 강점기 암흑시대 겨레의 가슴에 영원히 꺼지지 않을 민족혼을 불어 넣어 주신 만해 한용운 선생의 문학성과 자유사상, 진보사상, 민족사상을 높이 기리고 선양하기 위한 실천의 장으로 설립되었다. The Manhae Village was estabished as a training center, in memory of the national activist Manhae Han Yongun, revered for his literary and philosophical inspiration to the people. The property is organized into five buildings including the Manhae Literature Museum and the House of the Literary Man. This facility has a lodging capacity for up to 400 trainees or guests in 47 rooms. A number of other facilities complete this training institution including the School of Manhae which accommodates up to 250, the former debate venue of Simujang temple and Seowon Bojeon Hall for hands-on experience and practices. Reservations are open to private and group guests by phone and the internet. Nearby tourist destinations include the Manhae Village, Mt. Seoraksan National Park and Naerincheon rafting area among others.

Mangyeongdae Pavilion
Gangwon-do(Donghae-si)

Mangyeongdae Pavilion (만경대), located on the shore of the East Coast, one-kilometer east of Donghae City Hall, was built in 1613 while old Joseon was under the rule of King Gwanghaegun. However, the pavilion was destroyed by rainstorms and later rebuilt by the Samcheok Kim family some 60 years ago. While offering a spectacular view of sea to the east, the pavilion also offers a refreshing view of expansive pine forests to the north. If you look to the west, you will enjoy a magnificent view of Mt Duta beyond the pavilion’s back lawn as well as the Jeoncheon Stream flowing into the East Sea alongside a steep cliff-wall. As only Jukseoru Pavilion of Samcheok matched its view, poets of former times are said to have frequented Mangyeongdae Pavilion.
