Located in Apgujeong-ro 42-gil in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Platform Place Sinsa Branch is close to Dosan Park. Platform Place is a select shop pursuing a premium lifestyle. With a total of five stores nationwide in operation, each store sells brand products befitting the characteristics of the area. The very first Platform Place, which opened in October 2009, carries about 25 brands including Saint James, YMC, and And Wander, which are hard to find in most other stores in Korea. The merchandise varies from fashion brand clothing and accessories to watches and wallets to cosmetics like perfume and body products, to art books and stationery. Housed in a free-standing residential building, the shop comes with a parking space. The first floor sells men’s clothing, shoes, and living goods; the second floor features women’s clothing and French brand Saint James, among the many products carefully selected for their uniqueness and collection value. The shop provides all visitors with a complimentary bottle of mineral water. Platform Place is open all year round except on Lunar New Year’s Day and Chuseok.

Platform Place Myeong-dong Branch (플랫폼 플레이스(명동점))

Platform Place Myeong-dong Branch first opened in November 2011 on the main street of Myeong-dong in Jung-gu, Seoul. As a specialty select shop selling various imported brands that are not officially distributed in Korea, among many fashion selections, Platform Place carries products of Saint James, an imported brand with a long history, and somewhat unfamiliar labels such as YMC, Lavenham, Herschel, and Veja as well as various fashion sundries and living goods, mostly targeting Korean and foreign tourists visiting the area. Everywhere on display are cute, colorful interior goods. The store is shaped long, so from the entrance, displays are divided on both walls and in the center; the modern interior design and product display combined make shopping very pleasant. The display in the center is filled with new arrivals, brands on sale, and trendy looks recommended by celebrities. Foreign language service is available all day long. The store is open daily except on Chuseok and Lunar New Year’s Day. Parking is usually difficult in Myeong-dong, but the Platform Place, which is located close to Myeong-dong Station on Seoul Subway Line No. 4, is easily accessible by public transportation.

Located on Namiseom Island in Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do, Imagine Nami is a store specializing in handmade crafts. Talented craftsmen based on Namiseom Island began producing works, and Imagine Nami became the place for selling their works, including various accessories made of leather and natural stones, glass crafts, fabric products, paintings, and other design works. Most artifacts deal with natural themes and stories about Namiseom Island. The recent collection features various handicrafts containing the image of Snowman, the representative icon of Namiseom Island, and artifacts include tea cups, candle holders, memo holders, magnets, ceramics, and other decorative interior items. The single-story store comes with an entrance and an exit on both sides, making it easy and convenient for shopping even during busy hours. The brand started in 1889 at a French village near Mount Saint-Michel in Normandy. In the early days, the store specialized in sailor’s outfits — or the “marine look” — and gradually expanded as the French look gained popularity around the world.
