Daehakro Street is the Korean version of off-Broadway, with about 120 theaters for musicals and plays lined up along the alleys. Every year, hundreds of stage productions have a chance to meet audiences, become adapted, or move to bigger stages. The stage production genres also vary, from terrifying horror, sweet romance, experimental work to exciting musical comedy. Daehakro Street is where both success and happiness seekers gather.

Museom Village is surrounded by water on three sides as it is located at the place where Naeseongcheon Stream (the upstream of Nakdonggang River) and Seocheon Stream meet. The village is called Sudori, or Museom, meaning an island in an inland area. It is a traditional village which has 9 cultural assets including Haeudang (Folk Item No. 92) and Manjukjae (Folk Item No. 93), both of which are beautiful old homes that exhibit the humble formality of old nobles.
The Museom Single-Log Bridge Festival, a landmark celebration of Yeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do is held on October every year. The Museom Single-Log Bridge is one of the 100 most beautiful paths of Korea selected by the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. The bridge is only 23-centimeters (nine-inches) wide and it connects the village to the land across the stream surrounding it. The festival aims to preserve and promote the nation’s traditional culture. During the festival, one can enjoy and take part in a wide variety of folk events including the intramural Ssireum (traditional wrestling) Competition, Nongak (farmer’s music) Performance, Satto (chief of the village) Parade, crossing the bridge with a cow, a groom marching on a horse and a traditional wedding ceremony.
Jangseong Baegyang Maple Festival is held in the Baegyangsa Temple area of Baegamsan Mountain.
Performances include "maple's harmony," "nostalgia 7080," and a music concert in the maple forest. Hands-on programs include hand painting maple ceramics, making maple bookmarks, and other exhibtions and additional events for visitors.
Bukcheon Cosmos and Buckwheat Festival is one of the best autumn festivals in Hadong-gun, a district located in Jikjeon-ri, Bukcheon-myeon.
This festival is comprised of a wide range of events including exhibitions, hands-on programs, music concerts in flower gardens, the 7080s concert, a photograph contest, photo exhibition of Bukcheon Cosmos Station, caricature drawings and more.
The Three Musketeers (musical) runs simultaneously at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul and at Tokyo International Forum Hall in Japan. The simulataneous performance, which have never been done before, sets the standard for other shows looking into overseas expansion. The annual Suwon Theatre Festival features diverse shows showcasing contemporary theater and events including an exhibition, vocal performances and citizen-led programs. The venue also features creative decorations using materials from recycled vehicles, tires and fabric. Individuals and families will be able to enjoy the range of events at the festival, located at a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Muan is the largest habitat of the White Lotus flower in Asia, spanning 330,000m2 in size. While most lotus flowers are pink, the lotus flowers in Muan are snow white, which is very rare. During the Muan White Lotus Festival festival, visitors can enjoy a landscape filled with white lotus flowers and lotus-themed activities.
Festival Guide: The festival starts with a celebration parade. Visitors can enjoy exhibits about lotus flowers and the history of lotus medicine, as well as a photo exhibit and hands-on programs. Activities include making handcrafts with the seeds of lotus flowers, natural dyeing using lotus flowers, making lotus soup, cooking lotus-wrapped rice and more. Different kinds of lotus can be observed at the natural learning garden of water plants, which is on the way to the venue.
Festival Hightlights: The highlight of the Muan White Lotus Festival is a boat ride where you can get a nice view of the lotus flowers. Exploring the lotus road on the water is like a jungle adventure. Visitors also can try traditional dishes of Muan and special fragrant foods made from lotus, such as lotus ice cream, lotus shakes, lotus sandwiches, lotus noodles, and lotus-wrapped rice.
Hadong is famous for being the first tea plantation site in Korea. Unlike other tea production sites, which typically use machines for processing, Hadong continues to produce tea using time-honored traditional methods. As a result, it produces particularly high-grade teas, which are often sold at high prices.During the festival, visitors can sample a variety of Hadong’s tea for free and purchase their favorites at bargain prices. The festival offers visitors a unique and entertaining combination of events and hands-on experiences, drawing a large number of visitors every year.
