Pohang Canal (포항운하)
 
Gyeongsangbuk-do(Pohang-si)
Pohang Canal, completed in January 2014, cuts between Pohang's Songdo-dong and Jungdo 1-dong, connecting the waters under Dongbindaegyo Bridge with Hyeongsangang River to the south. The canal has a total length of 1.3km, adding on to the 8~10 km long seafaring road of Pohang. The canal is a restoration of an old water path, and the citizens have welcomed the eco-friendly construction as a community park. Many people enjoy walking along the canal or the romantic experience of riding on a cruise ship through the canal.

Samcheok Fishing Village Folk Museum

Located inside of Haesindang Park, the Samcheok Fishing Village Folk Musuem is a new type of exhibition hall, comprised of a grand video aquarium, living cultural materials and equipment of fisherman of the eastern coast and various hands-on programs. Visitors can learn about folk cultures from over the world at the museum. The museum overlooks the East Sea and uniquely formed rocks and stones. The facility opened in 2002.

Sureungwon Garden
 
Gyeongsangnam-do(Gimhae-si)
Sureungwon is a 39,600㎡ ecological park built under the theme ‘The Meeting of King Suro and his Wife Queen Heo.’ The park connects the Royal Tomb of King Suro and the Daeseongdong Tomb Complex of the Gaya Dynasty. The east side of the park is landscaped with straight, tall trees, symbolizing King Kim Suro, while the west side of the park is full of pear, persimmon, and peach trees, representing Queen Heo. Up on the hill is a colony of Chinese linden trees, which is a symbol of Buddhism in India where Queen Heo is from. On the high grounds of the east side is a sacred Korean tree, symbolizing the birth of ancient Korea. At the center of the park is the grand ‘Gaya Plaza’ with an image that represents the meeting place of King Suro and the Queen. The plaza regularly hosts public events for visitors to the park.

Anmado Island

Anmado Island, the largest island in Nagwol-myeon District, is home to a number of ocean splendors including the magnificent Malcobawi and Heundeulbawi Rocks, and camellia colonies. As one of the largest fishing bases in the West Sea, it is famous for its local specialties such as cows naturally grown out of pasture, black goats, medicinal liquor made of centipedes, sea bass, crabs and ear shells. Moreover, the island's fishing village, which has been designated as a third-class fishing port, serves as refuge for ships from home and abroad. Island History In 1967, a liaison office of Nagwol-myeon town office opened its door overseeing Anmado Island, along with five othe islets (Daeseongmando, Soseongmando, Odo, Hwangdo and Jukdo) and six villages. The area as a whole is called Anma Archipelago. Furthermore, Hwangdo, an affiliated islet of the Anmado, along with Donghwangdongdo, Gageodo and Seogeochado form the Western Basic Line.

Gwanggyosan Mountain

Gwanggyosan Mountain makes up the border between Suwon-si and Yongin-si, and the ridgeline is relatively mild and gentle. It takes an hour to get to the top of Gwanggyosan Mountain for enjoying view of Mountain. You can also enjoy the landscape of surrondings on top of Gwanggyosan Mountain. The Gwanggyo reservoir is located beneath the mountain, with 1.9km walkway surrounding it. It is ideal for couples.

Baeksajang Beach

Baeksajangpogu Port is located just 4 km southwest of Anmyeondo Bridge, the bridge connecting the mainland with the island. Near the port is a white sandy beach called Baeksajang. At Baeksajang Beach, the shimmering white sand stretches endlessly and the ebbing tide creates a different view of the horizon. Though the water level has a large tidal range, the beach's moderate water temperature makes it a safe and enjoyable place to take a dip in even until late summer. The beach is 1.2 km long and 300 m wide, and is made up of fine silica sand. Just around the corner is Sambong Beach. Baeksajang Beach is one of the major sources of jumbo shrimp, and during autumn, crowds come to enjoy the taste of fresh jumbo shrimp. The beach even holds a prawn festival every fall when jumbo shrimp production peaks.

Soseonam Natural Forest

Soseonam Natural Forest (소선암자연휴양림) is located in Chungbuk Dannyang and is replete with flowing streams, verdant landscape and many historic landmarks. Its main facilities include a promenade, a public kitchen, and for its lodging facilities there are forest Cabin, forest lodge, log house, and camping site are available. Manhae Village

한국문학사의 대표적 시인이자 불교의 대선사, 민족운동가로 일제 강점기 암흑시대 겨레의 가슴에 영원히 꺼지지 않을 민족혼을 불어 넣어 주신 만해 한용운 선생의 문학성과 자유사상, 진보사상, 민족사상을 높이 기리고 선양하기 위한 실천의 장으로 설립되었다. The Manhae Village was estabished as a training center, in memory of the national activist Manhae Han Yongun, revered for his literary and philosophical inspiration to the people. The property is organized into five buildings including the Manhae Literature Museum and the House of the Literary Man. This facility has a lodging capacity for up to 400 trainees or guests in 47 rooms. A number of other facilities complete this training institution including the School of Manhae which accommodates up to 250, the former debate venue of Simujang temple and Seowon Bojeon Hall for hands-on experience and practices. Reservations are open to private and group guests by phone and the internet. Nearby tourist destinations include the Manhae Village, Mt. Seoraksan National Park and Naerincheon rafting area among others.

Jongga Hoengseong Factory (종가집 횡성공장)

Jongga is a kimchi & fresh food brand of Daesang, which has led modern culinary culture in Korea along with the fresh food brand Chungjungwon, the processed meat brand Chamjak, etc. The Jongga Hoengseong Factory offers tour of the factory, allowing visitors to see the kimchi making process and the exhibition hall. Visitors can also participate in a kimchi-making program.

Songnisan Special Tourist Zone

With Songnisan National Park at its center, Songnisan Special Tourist Zone offers picturesque scenery and cozy resorts. 1,058 m above sea level, Songnisan Mountain is one of the 8 scenic wonders in Korea, and its steep peaks and deep valleys create a fascinating view. A variety of hiking trails that set out from Beobjusa Temple offer superb mountain scenery from every angle. A tourism complex around Songnisan National Park offers various types of accommodations, and the area's sites, such as Beobjusa Temple, Eunpok-dong Valley, Mansu Valley and Solhyang Park are not to be missed. In fact, the mountain is a habitat for rare animals and plants, including flying squirrels and Berchemia Berchemiaefolia, and is called a “treasure house of natural resources.” The convenient accessibility should be noted as well. The highway between Dangjin and Yeongdeok goes through the zone, and it takes only 30 minutes from Cheongju International Airport. This helps foreign tourists from China, Taiwan and Singapore as well as Korean visitors to easily access the zone. Ssangok information center, Hwayang information center, Beobjusa information center in Boeun-gun County, Chungcheongbuk-do Province or Hwabuk information center in Sangju-si City, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province provide all the information needed to fully enjoy Songnisan National Park.
