Yongpyong Resort, located on the ridge of Mt.Balwangsan, is the first domestic ski resort opening in 1975. With average 250cm of snow each year you can enjoy skiing from November until April of the following year. Compared to other ski resorts, ski season is considerably longer. It is 215km from Seoul, and with the construction of a 4-lane highway, the travel time has been shortened to 2 hours. When ski season finishes, you can enjoy golf from April to November as well.This is where the 1998 World Cup Ski Competition and the 1999 Gangwon Winter Asian Games were held. The Rainbow Red*Silver*Gold slopes have been authorized by the International Ski Federation (ISF). Also there are slopes for beginners such as the Yellow Run and the Pink Run, and the new Red Run and Green Run for intermediates. There are 18 slopes and 15 lifts in total, with a 3.7km long gondola which can accommodate 8 people at once. There are other convenient indoor facilities such as the swimming pool and sauna, and within the complex there is a sledding hill, indoor golf course with a capacity of 6 holes, survival game park and the indoor mountain bike path. There are also the forest bath walk, archery, crocket, tennis courts and the campsites.For accommodation there are hotels, condos, youth hostels which add up to 1,087 rooms available in total. There are many tourist sites such as the Mt.Odaesan National Park and the Daegwangryeong Ranch. During ski season, shuttle buses and the direct buses operate from metropolitan areas around Korea. 

On a site of about 80,000m² (24,200 pyeong), 64 Tang Dynasty-style buildings including the imperial palace and 52 Goguryeo-style buildings have been built to create a themed film park that recreates Goguryeo from 1,300 years ago. Located on the southern most point of Sokcho are the many raw fish restaurants and dried fish shops of Daepohang Port. This bustling port has become one of the most popular tourist spots for those in search of the freshest raw fish restaurants.At Daepohang Port it is said that the Seorak Mountains and the East Sea are gifts from nature. The port is filled with raw fish restaurants and a live fish market containing eel, flatfish, flounder, yellowtail, and plethora of other high-end seafood. Furthermore, the abundance of local dishes that can be found lining the streets includes ojingeo sundae and Gamja Songpyeon. Hallim Park is one of the most popular tourist spots on Jeju Island, located 33km west of Jeju City and Mt. Hallasan along the beach in Hallimeup. The park was established on barren land in Hyeopjaeri, Hallimeup, then covered with tons of earth and the planting of assorted subtropical plants began in early 1971.Hallim Park, reaching almost 100 thousand square meters, has a variety of gardens that can be enjoyed in any season. The most famous tourist sites in Hallim Park are Hyeopjaegul and Ssangyonggul Caves, known to be the only two-dimensional caves in the world. In addition, a folk village, children's amusement park and outdoor resort facilities make it enjoyable for both children and adults.

Bomunsan Park is a major park in the city of Daejeon. It boasts lush greenery that changes colors every season. It also offers a wide range of recreational facilities like mineral springs, hiking trails, indoor roller-skating rink, soccer field, exercise equipment, and youth square, as well as cultural attractions like Bomunsanseong Fortress, Bomunsaji Temple Site, outdoor music hall, observatory, and cable car.

Cheongwadae Sarangchae is a space to learn about Korean culture and the history of former Korean presidents. The area is comprised of a planned exhibition hall where various special exhibitions are held, Korean culture exhibition hall, Korean food (hansik) promotion hall on the first floor and Cheongwadae Hall which introduces former Korean presidents and Haengboknuri Hall which presents the future vision of Korea on the second floor.

Byeonsan Beach along with Daecheon Beach and Manripo Beach, is one of the three most popular beaches on the west coast of Korea. Byeonsan Beach is known for its white sand beach and fir trees. Since the water is tranquil and not very deep, this beach is a favorite summer vacationing spot for over a million people every year. What really draws the crowds to this shore is its 2km-long white sand beach and Bangpungrim, the windbreaker fir forest. The low tide lets the white sand beach extend out so far that you would have to walk a good 30 minutes to reach the end. During the summer, the Bangpungrim provides cool shade, and during the winter, acts as a buffer against the cold wind. The beach looks especially beautiful during low tide.You can taste the fresh fruits and vegetables that are produced in the surrounding mountain areas. You can also have fresh seafood from the nearby fishing villages. The only drawback of Byeonsan Beach is that accommodations are limited and you might be better off staying in the neighboring town of Gyeokpohang.
