[Korean Travel] Pyeongchang is Lit Up to Welcome Visitors

In preparation for the opening of PyeongChang 2018, areas of Pyeongchang, Gangneung, and Jeongseon have set up lights to welcome the visitors. Exquisite lights decorate the streets near the stadiums, and street performances are scheduled every weekend at major tourist attractions including KTX stations, markets, Coffee Street and winter festival venues.  In Gangneung, where the ice sports will be held, over 1,000 light decorations are placed around 8 different areas including 200 Olympic ring and 150 tree shaped lights. The road to the stadiums will also be lit up by lights.  In Pyeongchang, Olympic Cultural Street with theme of PyeongChang 2018 has opened along the rivers of Jongbu-ri, Sang-ri, and Cheonbyeon-ri. The street provides much to see, including the Street of Lights, Olympic Landmark Street, Olympics Mural, Sacred Torch Street•Mascot House, Host Country Park, Olympic Star Plaza, and Cultural Arts Street•Traditional Experience Street.  Excluding the mural, the cultural streets and decorations are installed with LED lights to brighten Pyeongchang at night.
