Oryuheon House, located near Imhaho Lake in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do, offers a chance to stay in a historic house from the Joseon period. The house, also known as Mogwa House, was built by Kim Won-jung, the third son of Sukjong-era rector of the National Academy Kim Bang-geol, when he formed a family of his own in 1678. It was designated as the National Folk Cultural Heritage No. 184. The door’s wooden frame and the open floor space exemplify the beauty of the literati house of the Joseon period, while the sarangchae (men’s quarters) and daemunchae (gate quarters) showcase the sophisticated architecture of the era. Anchae (women’s quarters) retains its original appearance, while the sarangchae was rebuilt in 1920. The construction of the Imha Dam in 1990 resulted in the house’s relocation to its present location. The owner of the house resides in anchae and sarangchae. Guests have access to a space that includes a 2-kan room, which can accommodate up to 4, an open floor space, and a bathroom. Cooking is prohibited in the house, but guests can make use of a grill located on a small yard reserved for the guests. Korean-style breakfast, including menus like chicken porridge or lotus leaf rice, are offered free of charge in the morning. Nearby sights include the water sports activities in Imhaho Lake, Manhyujeong Pavilion, Hahoe Village, and Dosanseowon Confucian Academy.

Hinokijam is a two-story traditional Japanese wooden house accommodation located on Modern Culture and History Street of Gunsan. The guesthouse is unique in that you can experience the modern cultural and history as well as the quiet and still atmosphere of Japan in South Korea. As it is located on Modern Culture and History Street, most guests staying at the guesthouse are travelers without a car. It also offers affordable room rates. There is a total of seven guest rooms in Hinokijam. Since the guest rooms have slightly different structures, you should check the details before confirming the booking. The Kkotnimbang and Sarangbang rooms are big enough for two guests and the Dalnimbang room is big enough for three guests. All of the guest rooms are ondol rooms. Only the Kkotnimbang room has a bathroom outside. The Sarangbang and Dalnimbang rooms have bathrooms inside. The Gureumbang and Byeolnimbang rooms, and the Haneulbang room on the second floor can accommodate four guests. The Haetnimbang room, which is the largest room, can accommodate from four to eight guests. The guest rooms for four people or more have beds and bathrooms. Apart from the Haetnimbang room, all guest rooms have basic room rates for one guest. In the morning, the guesthouse provides simple breakfast with toast and beverages. Gunsan Modern History Museum, Jinpo Marine Park, Dongguksa Temple, Gunsan History Museum, and Teddy Bear Museum are within walking distance from the guesthouse. On Modern Culture and History Street, you can find Leesungdang, the oldest bakery in South Korea, and Jjambbong Street.

Victoria Hotel is nestled in a perfect area overlooking Balpo Beach. This makes the location perfect for getting some rest and relaxation between the beach and the forest. The crisp, clear air makes the moon seem brighter and more vivid at night. A surprising portion of guests are actually Russian scientists from the nearby Naro Space Center. The hotel owner's daughter-in-law, who speaks English, provides interpretation services for these Russian guests. When going out to the terrace, guests can hear the sound of waves crashing against the shore, and encounter other visitors out for a stroll along the path from the hotel to the beach. There is a total of 55 guestrooms, ranging from two-person rooms to 12-person rooms. The Lovely Motel consists of five floors above ground and 44 guestrooms, of which only four Pension-type Family Rooms are equipped with cooking facilities. The guestrooms are divided into rooms with a view of the sea and rooms with a view of the city. The interior of the motel has recently been refurbished to provide more pleasant and comfortable accommodation. The large restaurant located in the basement level, which is also used as a seminar room or workshop space, provides breakfast, but groups of guests are asked to reserve meals in advance. House of Chiam ([한옥스테이] 치암고택)

This is the old house of Lee Man-hyeon, also known by his pen name Chiam. He served as a town chief and a high-ranking court official during the reign of King Gojong of the Joseon Dynasty. He is also the 11th generation descendant of the great scholar Lee Hwang, also known as Toegye. The hanok was designated as the 11th Folk Relic of Gyeongsangbuk-do. It was originally located in Dosan-myeon Wonchon-ri, but moved to the current location as the original site was flooded due to the construction of the Andong Dam in 1976. The house is composed of a square-shaped, tile-roofed main building that measures 22 kans*, a 5-kan lofty front gate, and outer quarters. The main building consists of the anchae (women's quarters) and the elevated sarangchae (men's quarters). The roof of the sarangchae has a peculiar shape, as it is sloped and has gabled roofs on each side. *kan: a traditional measurement that corresponds to the space between two columns The cultural properties of Gyeongsangbuk-do No.11
