Hinokijam 1 [Korea Quality] / 히노키잠

Hinokijam is a two-story traditional Japanese wooden house accommodation located on Modern Culture and History Street of Gunsan. The guesthouse is unique in that you can experience the modern cultural and history as well as the quiet and still atmosphere of Japan in South Korea. As it is located on Modern Culture and History Street, most guests staying at the guesthouse are travelers without a car. It also offers affordable room rates. There is a total of seven guest rooms in Hinokijam. Since the guest rooms have slightly different structures, you should check the details before confirming the booking. The Kkotnimbang and Sarangbang rooms are big enough for two guests and the Dalnimbang room is big enough for three guests. All of the guest rooms are ondol rooms. Only the Kkotnimbang room has a bathroom outside. The Sarangbang and Dalnimbang rooms have bathrooms inside. The Gureumbang and Byeolnimbang rooms, and the Haneulbang room on the second floor can accommodate four guests. The Haetnimbang room, which is the largest room, can accommodate from four to eight guests. The guest rooms for four people or more have beds and bathrooms. Apart from the Haetnimbang room, all guest rooms have basic room rates for one guest. In the morning, the guesthouse provides simple breakfast with toast and beverages. Gunsan Modern History Museum, Jinpo Marine Park, Dongguksa Temple, Gunsan History Museum, and Teddy Bear Museum are within walking distance from the guesthouse. On Modern Culture and History Street, you can find Leesungdang, the oldest bakery in South Korea, and Jjambbong Street.

The motel is indeed conveniently located for traveling and shopping. The motel has 35 guestrooms on the 6th, 7th, and 8th floors (each with a floor space of 826㎡) of the Marine Fare Building. There are not many guestrooms, but their size compensates for the small number. Guestrooms are available in various sizes for both individual and group tourists as well as business travellers. Some of the guestrooms are floor-heated for those who prefer to sleep on the floor instead of a bed. The guestrooms facing the ocean offer a wonderful view of the port.

Gokjeongjae House

Gokjeonjae is built in the architectural style used by wealthy rural families found in the Yeongnam and Honam regions during the late Joseon period. In terms of the house's structure, the Munganchae (servants' quarters), Sarangchae (men's quarters) and Anchae (women's quarters) are arranged in a straight line, and surrounded by a 2.5m-high cobblestone wall based on the concept of a gold ring. Due to the academic value of the unique architectural techniques used in building it, the guest house has been designated as a local cultural heritage. The exterior maintains the traditional hanok's style while the interior is equipped with modern conveniences. One room can accommodate six to eight people, suitable for families. The red clay Ondol (traditional Korean floor heating system) is similar to a sauna as the floor is heated with firewood.

Good Morning Motel is situated on the lively coastline of Yeosu city, renowned as the host city of the highly successful 2012 Yeosu World Expo, in Jeollanam-do. This palatial seven-story building features a white exterior wall and well-arranged interior design. Yeosu Bus Terminal, Yeocheon Station, and Yeosu Airport are all within 20 minutes’ drive from the motel. Tourists can travel reach many of the neighboring islands including Geomundo, Baekdo, and Odongdo by ferry, participate in a Wetland Experience at Yeojaman Bay, and enjoy the splendid view of the sunset from Hyangiram Hermitage in Yeosu. Other local attractions such as Jinnamgwan Guesthouse, where Admiral Yi Sun-sin’s historic site is located, and Dolsandaegyo Bridge are also worth a visit. As for Yeosu’s famous local cuisine, visitors should try sliced raw red tongue sole, dolsangat kimchi (leaf mustard kimchi), Korean set menu with marinated crab, grilled oysters, and grilled belted beard grunt.

Located in Inje-eup, Inje Hotel has 36 rooms in a building with 7 floors above the ground and 2 floors in the basement. In addition to 22 regular rooms, there are VIP Room, large Ondol Room, and Special Room that can be used by different numbers of people and for various occasions. The VIP Room is a twin room equipped with a sofa and table. There is a communal shower facility outside the room that can be used when the bathroom en suite is occupied. There is a Korean restaurant on the first floor. The flower bed and tea table outside the first floor is a great place to rest. A free fax machine and a vending machine for beverage and ramen are located in the lobby. There is also a water purifier with hot water and a microwave that can be used to prepare snacks.
