Sangju Story Festival
 
Gyeongsangbuk-do(Sangju-si)
Sangju-si in Gyeongsangbuk-do is known as Gamgoeul (literally "persimmon village") since it exports a large quantity of persimmons annually. Naturally, there are many local stories related to the fruit. Every autumn as persimmons ripen, the city holds a festival to celebrate its specialty and to continue the tradition of telling its Gamgoeul stories. The Sanju Gamgoeul Story Festival puts on major programs, including an opening ceremony, performances, and various hands-on experience programs.

Non-verbal Performance FIREMAN
 
Seoul(Jung-gu)
"Fireman" is a non-verbal performance that portrays the growth and development of silly and carefree trainees into courageous and trustworthy firefighters. The stage will grab the attention of the audience with acrobatic techniques, parkour, and b-boying movements. International audience can enjoy the show without any language barrier as the performance is non-verbal, meaning the play is carried out using only body movements and facial expressions to deliver the story. Since its first stage in 2015, the act went on an international tour and won the Grand Prize in Popular Culture category during the Korea Hallyu Awards in 2016.

Samcheok King’s Cosmos Festival

The Samcheok King’s Cosmos Festival is held around late September to early October to attract more visitors who come to see autumn foliage at nearby tourism attractions such as Hwanseongul Cave, Daegeum Cave, Cheoneunsa Temple and more. The cosmos fields, spanning over 120,000㎡, along with sculptures made with flowers, are well-blended within a friendly farming area. The festival is one of the representative autumn festivals to enjoy autumn foliage. In addition, nearby attractions such as Jungyeongmyo Grave, Daegeumgul Cave and Hwanseongul Cave are famous as tourism attractions.

Silk Town Mountain Cherry Blossom Festival

Bogok Village in Gunbuk-myeon, Geumsan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do boasts the largest colony of wild cherry blossoms, spanning over an area of 10,000 ㎡. The area offers an unpolluted region with various blooming flowers such as bridal wreath, bunch berry, weigela, ginger plant, and wild flowers. Also, it is perfect as a healing area with its calm ambience thanks to the late flowering time created by relatively low temperatures compared to the flatland, as it attracts less people than other places where flowers bloom early. The walking course called Mountain flower (sankkot) sullae-gil is well known as an eco-friendly well-being course that blends well with nature and art.

Deoksugung Pungnyu

Deoksugung Pungnyu is a night-time traditional arts performance that takes place at Deoksugung Palace in downtown Seoul. Traditional art specialists (many officially recognized as ‘intangible cultural assets’) take the stage with their apprentices to fill the cool night air around the stately palace walls with the hauntingly beautiful melodies of the past. The performance is part of an effort to help visitors immerse themselves in the traditional Korean arts while getting a more authentic experience of the palace, instead of just observing the world of the ancients from afar.

Boryeong Sea Mud Exhibition

Boryeong Sea Mud Exhibition is held for 31 days in the summer with a target of 1.2 million visitors. It will combine with Boryeong Mud Festival to promote the benefits of mud and expand the ocean industry. The exhibition will have various ocean related booths as well as experience programs and events for visitors to enjoy.

Hongseong Historical Person Festival

Having modified its name from Hongseong Naepo Culture Festival, Hongseong Historical Person Festival is held in Hongjueupseong Fortress every September, with the aim of become an educational festival. Hongseong is the hometown of many historical persons in the areas of literature, martial arts and art such as General Choe Yeong, a great commander during the Goryeo period, Seong Sam-mun, a scholar-official of the early Joseon era, General Kim Jwa-jin, who won the Battle of Cheongsanni against Japan, Han Yong-un, who was a resistance fighter to Japanese influence with his fidelity and integrity, Han Seong-jun, a folk dancer, and Lee Ung-no, who established Korean painting’s creativity and identity. The festival offers historical person-related programs that include themed performances, histories of the persons, and their life story, giving a unique experience. Excellent local food from Hongseong can also be eaten at the festival site.

Jeju International Experimental Arts Festival (제주국제실험예술제)

Jeju International Experimental Art Festival (JIEAF) is an annual festival that hosts exhibitions, performances, and art forums at various locations on Jeju Island. As the only international experimental art festival in Korea, the festival attracts both international and domestic artists who wish to release their creative energy and ideas in forms of experimental performances and artworks.

Pyeongchang Gondeure

Pyeongchang Cirsium Setidens Festival is held every year in May in Sanchae Village, Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do Province. Visitors can pick their own cirsium setidents along with other wild greens on nearby mountains and try various kinds of food made from wild greens at the festival venue. Other hands-on programs include making rice cakes and catching trout or marsh snails.

Gohan Hambaeksan Wildflower Festival

Hambaeksan Mountain is the highest mountain on the Baekdudaegan Range that is accessible by car. Additionally, the area is a major coal reserve site and the industrial train Taebaek Line passes over the northern part of the mountain. Built by Monk Jajang Yulsa during the 5th year of the Great Queen Seondeok Period, Jeongamsa Temple is close to a natural habitat of Manchurian trout, designated as Natural Monument No. 73 and has a seven-story stone brick pagoda, designated as Natural Treasure No. 410. Roads from Manhangjae Hill and Dumundongjae Hill to the top of the mountain have picturesque views. A range of wild flowers bloom every season in the area, creating beautiful scenery. Gohan Hambaeksan Wildflower Festival takes place throughout Hambaeksan Mountain, Manhangjae Hill and Dumundongjae Hill.
