Suncheon Citizen's Day Event & Palma Cultural Festival
Jeollanam-do(Suncheon-si)

The Suncheon Citizen's Day Event is held at the grass plaza inside the Garden Expo venue. The event is held to celebrate the success of the Suncheon Bay International Garden Expo and to thank the residents of Suncheon-si for their support. Booths are set up at the plaza so visitors can enjoy the programs such as the singing contest, concerts, yutnori (Korean traditional board game), arm wrestling, jegichagi (Korean hacky sack), and tuho (arrow throwing). Visitors can also enjoy the various perfomances from participating artist groups, gukak (Korean traditional music) orchestra, and nongak (traditional Korean music performed by farmers) bands from the different municipalities.

Yangpyeong Sansuyu Flower Festival
Gyeonggi-do(Yangpyeong-gun) , Yangpyeong

The Yangpyeong Sansuyu Flower Festival is usually held for two days on early April every year. Visitors to the festival can enjoy walking under yellow sansuyu trees while participating in various hands-on programs including face painting, wood chopping, playing traditional drums, grilling potatoes over a wood fire, a treasure hunt, much more.

Inje Icefish Festival (인제 빙어축제)

Inje Icefish Festival will be held at Soyangho Lake in Inje. At this spectacular winter festival visitors will be able to try out ice fishing and exciting games such as human bowling on ice, ice soccer, and even a tug-of-war on ice. For those icefish fanatics there will be an icefish eating competition, and visitors can sample the icefish for free.

Ultra Music Festival Korea

Walk with a King (전주 한옥마을 경기전 왕과의 산책)

Ulsan Grand Park Light Festival

[Event introduction] Ulsan Grand Park Light Festival started in 2016 to provide citizen more enjoyment during winter. For the past two years, more than 250,000 visitors have come to the festival with over 40% of the visitors from outside of Ulsan. This year’s festival with a title “Draw the light dream,” offering 5 different themes, will be held for 51 days from December 8, 2018 to January 27, 2019. The highlight of the festival is the 11m high star structure in front of the Rose Garden Fountain where amazing multimedia lighting show will be displayed.

Goseong Sunrise Festival
Gangwon-do(Goseong-gun)

Located in the northernmost part of Korea, Goseong, Gangwon-do, is a special place from which to view the sunrise on New Year’s Day. It is also known as the starting point for the Geumgangsan Mountain trip to North Korea, so the sunrise festival features a variety of programs that bring together North Koreans living in the South, Goseong residents, and tourists in a ceremony to wish for reunification, a bell-striking ceremony, and the release of wish-balloons into the sky. The Sunrise Festival is held on January 1 on Hwajinpo Beach, a famous film location of the TV drama Autumn in My Heart. Visitors can take part in hands-on programs such as hope-balloon flying and a candle lighting ceremony. Afterwards, there will be a shamanistic ceremony called gut to wish for reunification, followed by music by a military band, a drum combo, and folk performances.

Seoul Independent Film Festival

The Seoul Independent Movie Festival is jointly held by the Korean Film Council and the Association of Korean Independent Film & Video. The festival features a national independent film competition and gives awards regardless of theme, type, and length throughout varied genres including plays, experiential documentaries, and animated films. The Seoul Independent Movie Festival runs on a daily basis, which has been constantly expanded to distributing channels for independent films. The business aims to offer practical and realistic support for pre-production, distribution, and marketing in order to nurture the best independent film talent.

Yeosu Hyangiram Sunrise Festival

Hyangiram Sunrise Festival is an annual overnight festival that begins on New Year's Eve. It takes place at the historic Hyangiram Hermitage, which was built in year 644. As the New Year's Day dawns, visitors can witness the sun rise above the horizon from Hyangiram, which literally means "a hermitage facing the sun."

Samcheok King’s Cosmos Festival
Gangwon-do(Samcheok-si)

The Samcheok King’s Cosmos Festival is held around late September to early October to attract more visitors who come to see autumn foliage at nearby tourism attractions such as Hwanseongul Cave, Daegeum Cave, Cheoneunsa Temple and more. The cosmos fields, spanning over 120,000㎡, along with sculptures made with flowers, are well-blended within a friendly farming area. The festival is one of the representative autumn festivals to enjoy autumn foliage.
