On the other side of the subsidiary dam of Andong Dam, thatched houses will be sparsely seen on the hilltop. The area is the folk scene site where an outdoor museum is built. At the entrance of the outdoor museum two jangseungs (Korean traditional totem poles) are set, followed by a monument inscribed with the poem of famous Andong poet and democracy activist, Lee Yuk-sa. On the monument, his noted works “Gwangya” (Wild Plain) is carved.
Near the Dam, are the Andong Folk Village, Andong Museum, Lee Yuk-sa Monument, a filming site of “Taejo Wanggeon,” and Andongho Lake.

King Suro founded the Garak Kingdom in A.D. 42 and married Heo Hwang-ok, a princess from the Indian country of Ayuta, in A.D. 48. He was the founder of the Gimhae Kim family. Heo Yeop, a Yeongnam governor, gave the tomb its current look in the 13th year of the reign of King Seonjo (1580). The tomb compound includes various buildings, including the Sungseonjeon (where the ancestral tablets of King Suro and his queen are kept), Anhyanggak, Jeonsacheong, and Jegigo, as well as stone structures, such as a sindobi (tombstone) and gongjeokbi (monument established to pay homage the deceased). The tombstone in front of the royal tomb was built in the 25th year of the reign of King Injo (1647) of the Joseon Dynasty. The name 'Sungseonjeon' was bestowed on the tomb by King Gojong in the 21st year of his reign (1884).

Built in October 1973, Soyang Dam is Asia's largest and the world's fourth largest rock-fill dam. It stands 123m high and 530m long, and can generate 200,000kW-h of electricity. It serves multiple purposes including flood control, hydroelectric power generation, flood control, irrigation, and fishing. It holds 29 million ㎥ of water, which has become Soyangho Lake, Korea's largest man-made lake. Spanning a large area that borders the Gangwon-do cities and districts of Chuncheon, Hongcheon, Yanggu and Inje, the lake is often referred to as an "inland sea". Passenger ships bound for Yanggu and Inje run along the 60㎞-long water route that leads to Seoraksan Mountain.
Ganghwa's mud flats cover about 105㎢, including notable areas in the southwest such as Yeocha-ri, Dongmak-ri, and Donggeom-ri. These three locations are a maximum of 6km from land and have an area of 90㎢ that accounts for 86% of Ganghwa's entire mud flats area.Ganghwado Island is the path to the river mouth of the Hangang River, Yeseonggang River and Imjingang River, so sediment moved from the rivers piles up and reaches far distances during low tide and the materials again settle around the island as the tide rises.Ganghwa Tidal Flat Center is a prime location for observing migratory birds and the surrounding mud flats. The center offers visitors access to an array of information about mud flats and first-hand experience with tidal flats.
Byeongbangchi Observatory is located in the between Gyuram-ri and Buksil-ri in Jeongseon-eup and features breathtaking views surrounding Bamseom Island whose shape is like the Korean peninsula with streams of Donggang River. Byeongbangchi Skywalk experience offers a thrilling experience as it gives a feeling of walking in the sky thanks to the tempered glass on the ‘U’ shaped structure (11m) projected from the cliff at altitude of 583m. From this observatory, tourists can see the beauty of Bamseom Island and Donggang River, making it an attractive point to visit.
Cherry blossoms cover Simni (10ri*) Cherry Blossom Road from Hwagae Market to Ssanggyesa Temple. Along with Gurye's sansuyu flowers, Hwagae's cherry blossoms symbolize the onset of spring at Jirisan Mountain. Every year in March and April, the cherry blossom road draws in many visitors.*ri is a traditional Korean measurement unit; 10ri is approximately 4km.
Established in 2013, the Chang Kee-ryo Memorial Hall is a place honored for lifelong practice of sharing with poor neighbors and is often referred to as the Schweitzer of Korea.
The word "Dongpirang" is made of two words. One is "Dong", meaning east and the other is "Birang", meaning hill in a Tongyeong dialect. Tongyeong Agenda 21 which is an association in Tongyeong gathered people throughout the nation in order to paint murals on the walls of Dongpirang-gil Street in October 2007. Thanks to the participants' paintings, this hillside village on the sea became a new place, revitalized by the art. The view overlooking sea of Gangguan Port is fantastic as well.
