In order to preserve it, Olleung (온릉) tomb is not open to the public. This is the royal tomb of Queen Dangyeong (1487-1557), consort of King Jungjong, the 11th ruler of the Joseon Dynasty. Queen Dangyeong got married to King Jungjong when she was 13 years old. In 1506, when King Jungjong ascended to the throne, she became a queen as well, but she was deposed after only 7 days. Therefore, her grave at first was not regarded as a royal tomb. However, in 1739, the tomb was designated as a royal tomb.

Seorak Special Tourist Zone is a vast zone included in 3 administrative districts, encompassing the entirety of Seoraksan Mountain. In this zone, visitors have various ways to enjoy Seoraksan Mountain and the natural environment of the East Sea region. Sokcho, which occupies the largest area in the zone, comes first when talking about Seoraksan National Park. Tourists can appreciate the picturesque scenery of the sea and coastal lakes as well as the mountain scenery of Seoraksan Mountain. Hikers can climb the mountain or ride a cable car. Sokcho beach is a hot spot that attracts young people who fill the place with energy and life all through the summer. Abai Village, which appeared in several TV dramas for its unique atmosphere, and Sokcho Jungang Market offer local specialties, such as abai sundae (Korean sausage) and dak-gangjeong (fried chicken nuggets coated in a sweet and sour sauce). Goseong, which is bordered by Seoraksan Mountain and Geumgangsan Mountain, is part of the Northern Limit Line (NLL) that offers a unpolluted, beautiful landscape around the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Hwajinpo Beach near Hwajinpo Lake, which is a lagoon, and Songjiho Beach near Songjiho Lake are the best places to spend a peaceful vacation. At Hwajinpo Lake, tourists can visit the summer houses used by the first South Korean President Lee Seung-man and the former North Korean leader Kim Il-seong before the division of the Korean Peninsula. Lastly, although it is a relatively small part of Seorak Special Tourist Zone, Yangyang has resources for mountain tourism and maritime culture, such as Seoraksan National Park and Naksan Provincial Park. Opened in August of 1993, the Blue One Yongin Country Club (formerly known as Taeyeong Country Club) is a 1,518,737㎡ golf course with 27 holes. Beautiful works by Douglas Nickels, a renowned figure in the world of plastic arts, can be found throughout the golf course and around tees.   

Topmeori Beach (톱머리해수욕장) is characterized by the extremes shown at high and low tide, revealing an endless stretch of white sandy beach during low tide. Together with the dense trees of an appealing pine grove (designated for state protection) a spectacular view awaits the visitor. This beach can be reached by public transportation. The abundance of fish in the nearby seashore makes this holiday location a popular one for fishing enthusiast. There are small sushi or sashimi places lined up alongside the long beach, for those who enjoy hoe (raw fish) fresh from the sea. A local delicacy includes sweet persimmons, a popular gift item.  

Baramsae Village Picnic Garden in Pyeongtaek is a special eco-park where visitors can enjoy a picnic in a natural setting. The park features wooden walking paths around ponds and marshes, as well as a sand playground, and is decorated throughout with sotdae (wooden bird poles). The mirror pond is particularly beautiful, reflecting the sky, reeds, and birds overhead.

Located in Seolbong Park, the Woljeon Museum of Art Icheon commemorates the great artist Woljeon Chang Woo Soung and his works. Originally opened in Seoul Jongro-gu Palpan-dong, the museum moved to Icheon in August 2007 when Woljeon bequeathed the museum to Icheon City along with 1,532 pieces of artwork and personal memorabilia. The new Woljeon Museum has 2 stories and 1 basement floor with 5 exhibitions halls (permanent & planned exhibition halls), a Woljeon Memorial Hall, a lecture hall, a souvenir shop, and a cafeteria. In the permanent exhibition hall, Chang’s masterpieces and personal belongings are on display, ranging from paintings and calligraphic works to stamps, ceramic works, books, and stationery.
