The Kim Young Gap Gallery is a former elementary school turned gallery. Photographer Kim Young Gap, who had been suffering from Lou Gehrig’s disease, spent his life capturing the beauty of Jeju Island. He created the gallery during his last days so that he could ensure his works be shared for years to come. The gallery shows the photographer’s artistic passion, and his photos reflect the sublime beauty of Jeju Island, captured day after day in all kinds of weather. It is said that Kim Young-gap lived a life of poverty, spending the little money he had on film and developing supplies. Exit right from Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal and walk for about 120m, passing the bridge to take Bus No. 720 or 720-1 bound for Jeju, 6-ho, Pyoseon and get off at Pyoseon High School Bus Stop (Travel time: about 1hr 15min).
Transfer to Bus No. 910 bound for ‘Sinseogwi and Goseong at Pyoseon‘ at the bus stop opposite.
Get off at Sangdal 1-ri Sangdal Medical Care Center Bus Stop (상달1리 상달보건진료소). (Travel Time: about 22-min).
Walk straight 220m to arrive at the gallery on the right.
