Seungri is the youngest member of Big Bang but that doesn't mean that his ambitions are small. On top of his impressive musical career, Seungri has recently started taking his step to become a prominent restaurateur. Aori Ramen located in Cheongdam-dong is the singer-songwriter’s first restaurant opened in December, 2016. For many international fans of the idol group, dining at Aori Ramen is often included in their Seoul itinerary. Inside, a fairly modest layout of the interior feels warm and welcoming. With the exception of only a few tables, the seating is conveniently divided up for lone diners. The broth made at Aori Ramen is clear and just savory enough. Sliced scallions are added for a refreshing kick. The menu allows visitors to customize the toppings to their liking. A few extra slices of pork chashu lend a creamy texture to the broth.

Its signature drinks are the Artist Lattes featuring impressive latte art images of Jung Yong-hwa, Lee Hong-gi, and Seol-hyun. As for desserts, the café offers a variety of colorful cakes made with unique recipes. Recommended menu items include the caramel mocha, green tea latte, and fresh fruit ades.

Leegachon Myeong-dong Branch is a specialty restaurant featuring Galbi (marinated and grilled beef ribs). A combination of the restaurant’s own special sauce, pure bronze gridiron, and oak tree charcoal creates a unique taste beloved by visitors and locals alike. The spicy galbi jjim (braised beef ribs) is another restaurant specialty.

The meat is not only tasty, but is also low in fat, high in nutrition, and is said to be beneficial for health and beauty purposes—making it especially popular among women.To preserve local flavor and taste, the restaurant prepares its meat using traditional cooking methods, as opposed to simply grilling the meat like many restaurants in the downtown area do. Thanks to these traditional cooking methods and the power of word-of-mouth, Dombedon has become a must-visit attraction of the region. In addition to the famous dombe meat, the restaurant offers an array of dishes including grilled black-skinned pork, dolsot bibimbap, and chef’s cold noodle.

For more than 30 years, Gung (궁) has served Gaeseong-style mandu (dumplings). The elderly proprietor, who fled south during the Korean War runs this restaurant with the help of her granddaughters. Characteristic of its delicate taste, Gaeseong mandu stuffing consists of pork and various vegetables such as Chinese cabbage and pumpkin. This restaurant’s mandu is so popular that by late in the day, they often run out. The typical menu includes mandu-jeongol (chowder) and mandu-guk (soup). The chowder is made of various ingredients including mandu, rice cakes, mushrooms, and meat, and serves two to three persons. For several persons, it's recommended to eat bossam (boiled meat slices wrapped in lettuce leaves or kimchi) and Korean-style pancakes. TIP: On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, they make kimchi in front of the restaurant. Be sure to try a sample of fresh kimchi.
