Located near centum city in Hongdae(Hongik University Street), the center of business and culture of Seoul, Gangsu Gopchang is a designated exemplary restaurant. Only the most strictly selected ingredients are used and only Korean beef tripe are used as the main ingredients. The premium tripe has outstanding texture and is highly nutritious. It is tender at first but the more you chew, the more you will enjoy the crunchy texture and plain but deeply pleasing taste.


 

Charles Sutbul Gimbap

 

 

Charles Sutbul Gimbap, located in Donggyo-dong, is the first brach to open, and since earning popularity among university students, it is now expanding into other areas of Seoul. Their gimbap menu differentiates itself from others through its famous charcoal-grilled spicy pork filling, called the Sutbul Gimbap. Besides hundreds of gimbap items available on the menu, the rice balls are also tasty and large enough to suffice for a meal.

 

GoGoカルビ

 

 

弘大に位置した焼肉用金網も煙筒もない、おしゃれなインテリアを備えた「GoGoカルビ」です. カルビはこんがりと焼き上がって出て、このところ焼肉用金網は宇宙船に似た形の釜だが、中には野菜がたっぷり含まれており、釜のふたで閉じているため水分が飛んでいかず、しっとりした野菜とヤンニョムカルビを味わうことができます。 そして肉を食べるとサイドメニューでカルビチャーハンや味付けカルビを揚げたトンガルビ天ぷらが食べられます。

Oksang Dalbit is a popular chicken restaurant in Hongdae with garlic pepper chicken as its specialty. The fried chicken seasoned with garlic and pepper is sprinkled with vodka then set on fire for about 15 seconds. This fire show not only offers fun but also adds a kick of smoky flavor.

 

Ttobogetji Tteokbokki Hongdae Branch

 

 

Also referred to as “Tto-tteok,” Ttobogetji Tteokbokki is a popular tteokbokki restaurant that has many branches in Hongdae. Upon order, tteok (rice cake), egg, eomuk (fish cake), and three different vegetables are served together with an order of tabletop tteokbokki. Additional menu such as noodles, fried potatoes, and fried rice are also available.

 

Sobok Hongdae Branch

 

 

With its main branch located in Hongdae, Sobok is an ice cream shop that focuses on naturalism. The shop’s interior is designed with shades of white, presenting a light and neat atmosphere overall. Bingsu (shaved ice) and ice cream made of natural ingredients like rice and unpolished rice are served in unique plating.

 

Sinseon Seolnongtang-Hongdae Branch

 

 

Sinseon Seolnongtang is a restaurant specializing in Seolnongtang (ox-bone soup). Thanks to its especially rich and sweet broth, the restaurant has gained in popularity, expanding nationwide. The Myeongdong branch in particular has become a must-visit stop for many Japanese tourists after the restaurant was featured in popular Japanese magazines such as VIVI, With, More, and Mine. An average of 50 Japanese visitors dine at the restaurant daily.
