Chujeon Station

Situated in Taebaek in Gangwon-do, Chujeon Station is Korea’s highest train station at 855m above sea level. Visitors must pass through Jeongamgul, the second longest railway tunnel in Korea to arrive at Chujeon Station. This quiet, isolated station has attracted many visitors since it started operating the Fantastic Snow Flower Train tour in December 1998.Lying between Gohan Station and Taebaek Station, Chujeon Station offers the best of romantic winter scenery. Songaksan Mountain

Songaksan Mountain is also called 99 Bong (99 Peaks) due to its 99 small peaks. The road from Sanbanggulsa Temple in Southern Jeju to Songaksan Mountain is a famous coastal drive with breathtaking scenic views. Though not as enormous as Hallasan Mountain, the view from the peak of Songaksan is truly scenic. From the summit, one can see nearby islands such as Marado, Gapado, and Hyeongjeseom, and as far as Hallasan Mountain and the Pacific Ocean.The main peak rises 104 meters above sea level. To the northwest of the main peak is an expansive prairie with several peaks. There is a crater about 500 meters in diameter and 80 meters in depth, with some blackish volcanic ash still remaining inside. Looking along the jagged coastline, one can spot the large man-made caves built during the Japanese occupation. The seashore at the base of Songaksan Mountain is a famous fishing ground and diverse fish such as sawedged perch and black porgy are caught here.

Bongnae Waterfall

Bongnae Waterfall is three-tiered with a x_height of 25 meters. The flowing, cool water brings a slight chill to the area surrounding the falls, especially in summer. As a major tourist attraction, Bongnae Waterfall is also the only source of drinking water for residents in Ulleung-eup. Most of the water used in restaurants and inns in Ulleung-eup come from Bongnae Waterfall.Two sites near the falls are well worth visiting: Punghyeol (natural air vents from which cool subterranean air blows) and the Forest Retreat. Punghyeol is located between Jeodong-ri and Bongnae Waterfall. During the peak of summer, chilly winds of about 4 Degrees Celsius blow from the rock openings and is often known as the “natural air-conditioner”. Next to Punghyeol is a thick forest of cedar, which makes a wonderful vacation spot during summertime.※ Note: This area is restricted due to unexpected incidents of landfall. Hwangmaesan County Park

Located at the border between Gahoe-myeon and Daebyeong-myeon of Hapcheon, Hwangmaesan is a guardian mountain of Hapcheon but has not been popular and was hardly mentioned in hiking magazines or tourist maps. Thanks for that, the mountain has all the natural environment that has been kept untouched and undamaged. In 1983, the mountain was designated as the County Park and now, along with Gayasan, it is regarded as one of the most major mountains in Hapcheon. Hwangmaesan is beautiful during the spring season when royal azaleas are at their full blossom but the summer season when hills are covered with fresh greens or the fall when silver grasses cover the hills gloriously and even the snow flowers in the winter season are scenes not to be missed. Unlike other mountain tops, this one has a full open view so every seasonal changes are more truly experienced. It is convenient that there is a road that reaches to the top of the mountain but if time allows, hiking up to the top to see the magnificent view is recommended for visitors.

Buljonggeori Road, where a huge bronze Buddhist temple bell sculpture is located, is lined with 23,000 blocks engraved with the names of foreigners. The colorful blocks on the ground consist not only of diverse names of international tourists, but also include the names of renowned Korean celebrities such as Jeon Ji-hyeon, f(x)’s Krystal Jung, 4Minute, Kara and other popular Korean stars.

Osan-si, Gyeonggi-do

The city of Osan-si is located in the southwestern area of Gyeonggi-do, bordering Hwaseongsi to the east, west, and north, and Pyeongtaek-si to the south. The entire area covers an area of 42.76 ㎢, with a population of about 208,600 (as of January 2015), and is divided into six areas called dongs. The county office is situated in Osan-dong. * Nature It is nestled at the end of the Gwangjusanmaek Mountain Range, which originates in the Taebaeksanmaek Mountain Range. Other large hills, all of which are under 200 meters above sea level, are scattered throughout the area, such as Yangsanbong Peak, Yeogyesan Mountain, and Nojeokbong Peak. Osancheon Stream and Hwanggujicheon Stream flow from the east and west into Asanho Lake, respectively. * Culture Folk: Osan-si holds the Yutnori (Korean board game) Contest taken place at the Osan Ssalsijang Gwangjang (plaza) from January 8 to 14 on the Lunar Calendar. Only residents of Osan-si may compete. Dongje (ancestral ritual): Sansinje (religious ritual for the mountain spirit) is held in Naesammi-dong on September 30 at around 9:00 at Pilbong Peak.

Sangbong Bus Jonghap Terminal

Sanbong Bus Terminal, which opened it door to public in September 1985, is a central bus terminal located in Sanbong-dong, Jungrang-gu of Seoul. Just as they are in in Dong Seoul Terminal, both intercity buses and express buses service are available at this terminal. Passengers may take a bus to northern Seoul or Gangwon-do regions from here.
