Rock-carved Standing Buddha in Icheon-dong, Andong
 
Gyeongsangbuk-do(Andong-si) ,
Maaekseobulsang (Rock-carved Standing Buddha in Icheon-dong, Andong) is a huge statue. This Buddhist image’s head stands 2.43 meters tall, while the entire statue stretches 12.38 meters high. These days, Jebiwan Temple has been built near the statue, so it has been dubbed “Jebiwan Seokbul.”The body of the large stone Buddha face has been carved into the rock. The statue is in the style of Koryeo (AD 918-1392) Dynasty, with distinctive contouring. This unique style is indicative of those prevalent during the 11th Century. 

Dodong Lighthouse
 
Gyeongsangbuk-do(Ulleung-gun) ,
Located in the north of Dodonghang Port, Dodong Lighthouse is also called Haengnam Lighthouse. From here, you can get a great view of Jeodonghang Port and its surrounding sea. The coastline walk path, starting from the left of Dodonghang Port, leads to the lighthouse. Another way is through the Haengnam mountain path behind Ulleung-gun Office. The 1.4-kilometer walk path from Dodonghang Port to Dodong Lighthouse is fascinating and the round trip takes roughly an hour and a half. On clear days, you can see Dokdo to the east from atop the lighthouse. To the north, you can see the beautiful landscape of Jeodonghang, Chotdae Candlestick rock, and Seonginbong Peak (the symbol of Ulleungdo). The lighthouse has long served as a beacon for Ulleung sailors. In 2006, it was newly renovated to include a small park and exhibition gallery. Nearby, there is Dodong Yaksu Spring. The sparkling water is said to help digestion and treat skin problems.  

Aayang Gichatgil (아양기찻길)

After 78 years of operating, Ayang Railroad Bridge was discontinued and turned into a cultural space with a name Ayang Gichatgil. This attraction is 277 meters in length, 14.2 meters in x_height and total area of 427.75㎡. Visitors can enjoy the observatory, exhibitions, cafe and other facilities. The attraction was award Red Dot Design Award for restoring a discontinued railraod bridge using public design. Nearby attractions include Simni Cherry Blossom Road, Gomoryeongbi Monument, Dongchong Resort, and Onggijonggi Happy Village.

Onyangoncheon Station

Onyangoncheon Station opened on June 1, 1922 as a regular railway station. The station building was relocated on June 23, 1983. On January 1, 2005, it was converted into a metro station. On September 2, 2008, the double tracked railway extension from Cheonan Station to Sinchang Station started operation.The Seoul Metropolitan Subway extended Line 1 to service the Cheonan-Sinchang extension on December 15, 2008. Onyangoncheon Station started to serve the Nuriro Trains on June 1, 2009.

Suwolbong Peak and Chagwi Beach

Located at the western end of Jejudo Island, Suwolbong, a small mountaintop, is famous for being a favorite sunset viewing place. The mountain has vertical cliffs spreading out like a scroll painting, created from the sea waves gradually cutting inland. The top the hexagonal pavilion Suwoljeong, from where you can look down on all sides. From this pavilion, you can see all of the West Sea.To the north, off the coast, is the Chagwido (sometimes called Jukdo) Island, where only the top peak area has grass growing, and the rest of the island is made up of dark hyeonmuam rocks and cliffs. Chagwido is famous as a fishing place, and in January, March, June, and December, people come here to fish. Around sunset, Chagwido’s seashore turns crimson red from the sun and is truly an awesome sight to behold.

Baemsagol Valley

Located in Namwon, Jeollabuk-do, Baemsagol is a 9-km grand valley, situated at the northern foot of Jirisan Mountain. Stretching from Banyabong Peak and Tokkibong Peak toward Sannae-myeon of Namwon-si, the valley is renowned for its beautiful autumn foliage. Baemsagol Valley is popular as a summer vacation destination because there’s always an abundance of water and forest trees. In the fall, the hills become ablaze with autumn tints, small streams flow over rock beds, and small pools of clear water from under the rocks give tourists a nice reason to linger. Other notable places nearby include Seonindae, Seoksil, Yoryongdae, Tagyongso, Byeongso, Byeongpungso, Jeseungdae and Ganjangso.

Jainsa Temple - Pocheon

Jainsa Temple in Pocheon (Gyeonggi-do) lies deep within the rugged cliffs of Myeongseongsan Mountain. Located nearby Sanjeong Lake, the two sites are often enjoyed together by visitors to this majestic area.The path leading to the temple is lined with an impressive array of towering pine trees. Just inside the temple grounds is a Buddhist statue resembling Maitreya, or a ‘future Buddha’ surrounded by an elaborate Buddhist sanctuary known as Geuknakbojeon. Behind the sanctuary is a valley with steep cliffs from which visitors can look down upon beautiful Sanjeong Lake. The temple is also home to a variety of stone pagodas, a statue resembling Avalokitesvara (the Buddhist goddess of mercy), and a water spring, the latter of which attracts visitors for its rumored medicinal powers.Nearby tourist attractions include Myeongseongsan Mountain, Sanjeong Lake, Hantangang River, Hwajeokyeon, Sambuyeon Falls, Sundam Valley, and Geumsu Jeongji.

Crinum Lily Habitat in Tokkiseom Island

The Crinum Lily Habitat on Jeju-do's Tokkiseom Island (Rabbit Island) is located 50 meters off the coast of Hado-ri, Gujwa-eup in Jeju-si. Crinum lilies grow in an environment where the average temperature is around 15℃ with the lowest temperature no less than minus 3.5℃. The flower is white and blooms from July to September. They bloom at night and have a strong fragrance.

Solmarugil Road

Solmarugil Road, an ‘eco path of Ulsan’ that connects the people with mother nature, is a 24-km urban circuit walk that starts from Seonam Lake Park and connects with Sinseonsan Mountain, Daegongwonsan Mountain, Munsu International archery range, Solmaru Haneul-gil, Samhosan Mountain and Namsan Mountain. Climbing up to the top of Sinseonjeong Pavilion on Sinseonsan Mountain, you may enjoy the wide, breathtaking view of Seonam Lake Park. The route to Daegongwosan Mountain is gradual, rather than steep, and the thick pine tree forest offers a great spot for a forest bath. Since the road connects mountains with the city, it offers easy access and diverse walking routes to urbanites.
