Mt. Biseulsan stands at the edge of Cheongdo-gun and Dalseong-gun. It is not such a high mountain, but because of its scenic beauty and clean air, it’s an easy place to want to visit again. Mt. Biseulsan has long been known as a temple place, and according to the legends it’s to produce a thousand saints from its regions. Famous monk Il-Yeon (monk scholar of the Goryeo Period) apparently spent his 20s here, training for his career as a monk. At that time Il-Yeon spent his time in the Bodangam Building learning about various faiths and their scriptures, and it became a solid basis from which to write his famous Samgukyusa, a compilation of the history of the three kingdoms). The most beautiful aspect of Mt. Biseulsan is the Azaleas that blossom in the spring. Painted crimson red, the flowers harmonize perfectly with the complementary colors of the surrounding forest. All through the year, the pine forest fills the mountain, and the broad-leaf trees come alive in the fall in all their brilliant autumn colors in perfect harmony with the fantastic looking rocks of the mountain peaks. Large areas of the ridge tops become covered with purple eulalias, and it provides a majestic view for the fall mountain climbers.

Cheongpyeong Recreational Forest (청평자연휴양림) boasts a pristine natural landscape that overlooks Cheongpyeongho Lake in Bukhangang River. The forest is a great getaway from the monotony of urban life where visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty of nature. The forest changes color every season, offering breathtaking views of Cheongpyeongho Lake through colonies of pine trees and oak trees in the spring and summer, colorful foliage in autumn, and a white snow-covered landscape in the winter. Sounds of flowing water and birds singing add to the joy of the great outdoors. The forest offers 5 buildings for general accommodation and 2 ‘Mayflower’ buildings for friends and couples. There is also an observatory, picnic site, swimming pool, forest cafe, garden, and auditorium. Located in the vicinity of Seoul, the forest is easily accessible as a weekend getaway. It is recommended for family gatherings and group workshops.

Mageompo Beach in Nam-myeon, Taean-gun is located right before the bridge that leads to Anmyeondo Island. As the beach is not widely popular among tourists, one can spend a quiet and tranquil vacation here. Near the beach is a dense pine tree forest where one can enjoy camping. The white sand and shallow waters also make it a good place for kids to swim. In the evening, the beach is a great spot to watch the breathtaking sunset.This place is famous for silchi-hoe, a dish consisting of freshly sliced raw fish. The ocean near the beach is one of the biggest natural sources of such fresh seafood as anchovy, sand eel and short arm octopus.

Chilseon Valley (칠선계곡) of Hamyang is the longest and largest valley in Jirisan Mountain (지리산). It is one of the top three valleys along with Cheonbuldong Valley of Seoraksan Mountain and Tamna Valley of Hallasan Mountain. The 16-kilometer valley stretching from Uitang of Macheon-myeon to Cheonwangbong Peak is characterized by very tough topography but beautiful scenery and is the only remaining primeval forest of Jirisan Mountain. It is also dotted with seven waterfalls and 33 ponds. The deeper you walk into the valley, the tougher it becomes to hike. Because the valley has taken many lives some people call it ‘Death Valley’. For that reason you can hike Chilseon Valley only after obtaining permission and must first take a 9.4-kilometer course from Chuseong Village of Macheon-myeon to Cheonwangbong Peak, which lies far from the actual valley. If you begin in Chuseong you will run into all of Yongso Pond, Jujiteo, Chuseongmang Rock, Seonnyeotang Pond, Ongnyeotang Pond, Biseondam, Chilseon Falls, Daeryuk Falls, Samcheung Falls and Ma Falls, until you reach Cheonwangbong Peak.  

The O-Train derives its name from the word "One," as the three provinces (Gangwon-do, Chungcheongbuk-do, Gyeongsangbuk-do) in the country's central inland region are connected by this one circular route. The train was designed with the theme of the four picturesque seasons of Baekdudaegan, Korea's biggest and longest mountain range that stretches from Baekdusan Mountain to Jirisan Mountain. The four-cabin train carries up to 205 people and includes separate seating options for families and couples to accommodate the needs of different passengers. There are also individual observatory seats for people traveling on their own. The train is well-equipped with various convenience facilities including a café, children's play area, toilets, etc. The train moves at the 165km per hour of speed, allowing passengers to reach Seoul to inland region quicker and easier than before. The exterior of the train is decorated with the pictures representing the beautiful scenery of Korea's four seasons, whereas the insides are dotted with highlights taken from Baekdudaegan mountain range.

Sacheon Airport is located in Sacheon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, and is also referred to as “Jinju Airport,” serving the city of Jinju as well. Nearby attractions include Jirisan Mountain and Hallyeohaesang National Park. The airport serves 165,000 aircrafts and over 1,000,000 passengers yearly, and is able to hold 300 cars at the parking lot.

Namhae in Gyeongsangnam-do, with coastal lines stretching over 302km, is surrounded by 70 beautiful islands. Mulgeon Windbreak Forest (Mulgeon Bangjo Eoburim in Korean) in Mulgeon-ri has protected Namhae from gusty winds and ferocious waves and provided abundant fish for 300 years. Resembling the crescent moon, the spacious forest (23,438m2) along the seashore is owned by the community of Mulgeon-ri. It stretches over 1.5km with a x_width of 30m in x_width; there are approximately 2,000 overwood trees with x_heights varying from 10 to 15m. The forest boasts over 100 difference species of trees—from hackberries to oaks, zelkovas, Fringe trees, Muku trees, and silver magnolias. All in all, 10,000 trees create the feeling of being in an ancient forest, deep in the mountains. The forest was built by people in nearby villages 300 years ago in order to control winds and waves. From above, elegant curvilinear coastal lines are enveloped by lush trees of the forest, as if the latter protects Namhae. Mulgeon-ri is divided into two areas: the port with a lighthouse, and farmlands, with the forest in between the two. From German Village (Neuschwanstein) in Namhae, scenic overlooks provide sweeping views of Mulgeon-ri, the forest, and the port. The forest is called a variety of names; it is called Bangpungrim (Windbreak Forest) because it protects villages from gusty winds; Eoburim (Fish shelter Forest) because its lush trees attract schools of fish; and Bangjorim (Waterbreak Forest) because it lessens the severity of waves and tides. Home to German Village, Mulgeon-ri faces eastward. Naturally, it is a great spot to see the sunrise and sunset. While Jeongdongjin is renowned for its splendid sunrise on the East Coast, Mulgeon-ri shares the acclaim on the South Coast, attracting thousands of visitors at the dawn of New Year every year.  

Cheongoksan Mountain (1,276m) is located to the southeast of Manggyeongdae on Taebaeksan Mountain. The hiking course goes along the ridge of the mountain from Neutjae in Socheon-myeon and winds past Hongjesa Temple, which (according to rumors) is where the great Buddhist monk Samyeong underwent spiritual training. Nearby is Baekcheon Valley, which has been designated Natural Monument No. 74, since it is the southernmost natural habitat of the cherry salmon. Also located in the vicinity are Goseon Valley (home to a huge primeval forest) and Cheongoksan Recreational Forest, which includes various leisure facilities such as a water park, work-out center, campgrounds, lodges, and more.
