Gyeongnam southern sea’s Namhae Pyeonbaek Recreational Forest (남해편백자연휴양림) consists of a verdant forest with cypress trees and provides beautiful views of the southern sea, making it an ideal place for relaxing. In addition, there are many historic sites such as Chungnyeolsa that symbolize the historic achievements of Admiral Lee Soon-shin.Within this recreation forest there are promenades, an observatory, and lodging facilities including Forest cabins, forest Lodge, training camping site, row houses, and camping decks. Gochangeupseong Fortress is a natural fortress built by civilians in 1453. A government office building of the Joseon era was then rebuilt within the walls. Here, visitors can see an example of Korea’s traditional fortress architecture and take a stroll nearby amidst beautiful natural scenery.

The Korean War Experience Hall, located next to Unification Observatory, offers a view at the lessons learned through the tragedy of civil war and offers up the hopes for a peaceful reunification and harmony in the homeland. Visitors can get a deeper understanding of the Korean War and the hardships it led to through the videos, materials, and relics on display in this hall.

The fortress on Munsusan Mountain (문수산, 376m) was built in 1694, the 20th year of the reign of King Sukjong, the 19th king of the Joseon Dynasty, to defend Gwanghwado, particularly from marine invasion. The fortress walls span 6km in length, 4km of which remain un-restored. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, the top of the fortress commands a spectacular view spanning from North Korea to the Hangang River inlet, and from Samgaksan Mountain to the sea off Incheon in the distance. It can be called Geumgangsan Mountain in Gimpo as it boasts superb scenery throughout all four seasons. (For all Koreans, Geumgangsan Mountain in North Korea symbolizes a ‘beautiful mountain’)

The ARC Cultural Center, a major culture center in Korea that harmonizes the elegance of traditional Korean culture and the dynamics of nature The ARC is a cultural complex that shows everything about Korea's river culture with the theme of water, and the building itself is a piece of art that boasts a graceful design in harmony with the river. The center offers abundant useful things for visitors to see. The exhibition areas and an art gallery on the first level of the basement are in perfect harmony with the modern and simple interior design. The Circle Theater, a huge theater on the first and second floor, was designed with the theme of water. Visitors can also enjoy a wonderful view of the surrounding nature at the observation deck on the third floor. In particular, the beautiful nightscape seen from the ARC Cultural Center makes it a landmark of Daegu.

The 4th Tunnel was discovered on March 3, 1990. It is located 1,200m from the Military Demarcation Line in the demilitarized zone of South Korea. This is the only tunnel to be discovered that provides full access to tour groups. Educational instruction is given in the square outside the tunnel.

Ganworam is a small hermitage located in Ganwoldo-ri, Buseok-myeon, Soesan-si, Chungcheongnam-do. Ganworam Hermitage was created by the Great Monk Muhak, the monk to King Taejo (Seong-Gye Lee) of the Joseon Dynasty. The name of the hermitage is directly tied with Muhak himself as it is said Muhak became enlightened while meditating under the moon (“wol” means moon in Korean) at the hermitage. At low tide, the Ganworam Hermitage is connected to shore via a natural walkway, but at high tide, the walkway is submerged and the hermitage becomes an island. At night time in particular the hermitage and its surrounding islets create a breathtaking view as the moonlit reflects off the sea.
