Uamsajeok Park is widely known as the ancient meditation site of the renowned Confucian scholar, “Uam (pen name) Song Si-yeol” (1607-1689). As such, it houses several buildings used by and dedicated to the scholar, including: Namganjeongsa (academy of Uam Song Si-yeol), Gigukjeong Pavilion, and Songjadaejeonpan (a collection of the written works of Uam Song Si-yeol).

The Boryeong Mud Skincare Center in Daecheon Beach in Boryeong, Chungcheongnam-do houses a men’s center on the 1st floor and a women’s center and advertisement booth on the 2nd floor. As Korea’s only mud center, it offers a variety of fun and exciting, hands-on mud programs. Since it is located in front of Daecheon Beach, a dip in the sea can be enjoyed any time. Boryeong Mud Skincare Center also features various hands-on activities and facilities. The Boryeong Mud Festival is held every July.

Established in November 1967, the dam at Uiamho Lake is located at the point where the Bukhangang and Soyanggang rivers meet. It was created to balance the flow of water to the Hangang River from Soyangho (the nation’s largest artificial lake) and Paroho Lake. Uiamho Lake is a great fishing area since the water level in the lake fluctuates depending on the amount of water discharged from Soyangho and Paroho lakes. Unlike other dam-created lakes, it has a flat bottom with plenty of water grass growing in and around the water, making it the perfect place for carp fishing. Carp is the main catch from the early spring to the late fall and in winter, the lake is a great spot for ice fishing (mainly minnow and smelt). The two large islands of Bungeoseom and Jungdo are located in middle of the lake. Not only a good fishing spot, the lake offers beautiful natural scenery and is easily accessible from Chuncheon City via public transportation.

This was the location of the palace fortress during the Shilla Dynasty (57 BC ~ AD 935). The fortress takes after its name, which, literally translated, means 'a crescent moon shape on top of a hill'. The famous history books of Samgukyusa mention that Shilla’s 4th King Seoktalhae (AD 57~80) thought this area was an ideal spot for the fortress and bought the land from a nobleman. The 2nd King Namhae (AD 4~24) impressed by Seoktalhae’s actions, took him in as his son-in-law, later, becoming the 4th king. The area was then under Shilla’s rule for 900 years, the last king being the 56th, Gyeongsoon (AD 927~935).Although the magnificent grandeur of the palace is now just an empty lot, it has been told that this area was filled with imperial buildings during the Shilla Dynasty. Currently, the region of Wolseong has a freezer made out of rocks called Seokbinggo, an archery range, horse-riding field, and a traditional playground, which resembles the grounds of the Joseon Period (the dynasty that ruled the Korean peninsula from 1392-1910). 

Located in Hapcheon, Gyeongnam Province, the 1,108-meter-high Hwangmaesan Mountain (황매산) encompasses the three peaks of Habong, Jungbong and Sangbong. Since the reflection of the mountain is also mirrored on the water of Hapcheon Lake, the mountain is also called ‘Sujungmae’ (literally meaning ‘ume (Japanese apricot) blossom under water’). In spring, azalea and rhododendron blossoms take over the entire mountain; in summer, you can enjoy the refreshing valley area; in the fall, the sound of birds singing is everywhere; and in winter, harsh winds swirl around the snow-capped Dongnipbong Peak.By starting the course from Sanjae and continuing past Mujigaeteo, Sungyeol Rock of Hwangmae Fortress and Guksadang hikers can take in the view of the alpine rhododendron-covered mountainside. 

Chuncheon Culture & Art Center (CCAC) is a leading performing and visual arts center located in the city of Chuncheon. The auditorium holds up to 1,004 seats including 989 regular seats and 15 seats for people with disabilities. Various performances and exhibitions are held throughout the year in order to offer diverse cultural experiences to the citizens.

PMC Production is a cultural venture capital company that plans and produces musicals and films. Among its recent productions is Nanta, an incredibly popular nonverbal performance. PMC Kids Hall is a large (3,000㎡) theater and cultural space for children that is located only a minute away from Samseong Station.

Chuncheon Puppet Theater is the only theater in Korea that features puppet shows for children. It offers upscale puppet performances from various countries and special events through its annual Chuncheon International Puppet Festival in August. In addition to the theater, there is also a Puppet Workshop where children can make puppets as well as a Puppet Museum with exhibitions of various puppets from around the world.

Situated off the eastern coast of Jeju Island, Udo Island was named because it resembles a lying cow. It boasts fertile soil, abundant schools of fish, and scenic sights; local heritages (female divers, stone walls, and stone tombs) as well as natural attractions abound on the island, making it a miniature of Jeju Island. The island is also full of amenities and tourism outlets: fishing, bike trails, sand massages, submarine tours and cruises.Seobin Baeksa (a white beach designated Natural Monument No. 438) has appeared regularly in films and TV commercials thanks to its breathtaking white sand and emerald sea. The sea around the beach showcases different colors depending on the water level. This makes Seobin Baeksa one of the most popular tourist attractions in Jeju-do, along with Hallasan Mountain. Standing on Udobong Peak (132.5m), the highest spot on the island, is a lighthouse surrounded by a spacious park. The peak offers outstanding overlooks of the island at a glance.To protect the exquisite nature and promote maritime tourism, Bukjeju County designated two ports on the island (Udo Port and Haumokdong Port) and the sea surrounding it (25,863㎢) as Udo Maritime Park in January 2001. The Traditional Arts & Crafts Studio was created to give both locals and international visitors a chance to experience the traditional arts of Korea firsthand. For international visitors, programs serve as a brief introduction to some of the finer points of Korean art. For many Koreans, the studio’s programs are ways to relive childhood memories or experience traditional culture as a family.
