Nestled in Songjeong-dong, Buk-gu, Ulsan Metropolitan City, Ulsan Airport first opened in November 1970, with Korean Air’s newly-established route to Ulsan Airfield. It ceased operating in 1973, and was shut down in 1974. The airport later reopened in March 1992, when Asiana Airlines opened a regular route between Seoul and Ulsan. In February 1993, Korean Air started serving a route between Ulsan and Jeju, and Asiana Airlines also opened the same route in May that year. In December 1997, the airport expanded its passengers terminal. Now, the airport can handle 60,000 flights and 2.4 million passengers a year, and has a parking lot that can accommodate up to 534 cars.  

Taeanhaean National Park (태안해안국립공원) consists of about 130 islands around Anmyeondo Island (안면도) and Taean Peninsula (태안반도). Taean Peninsula (태안반도) has a picturesque landscape with beautiful beaches, rock formations, mountain peaks and sea cliffs. Ulsan Museum is an archive of the history, present, and future of Ulsan City. The museum facilities include a history hall giving a general outline of the city from the prehistoric to the modern times, an industry hall showing Ulsan as the industrial capital of Korea, and a children’s experience hall for educational purposes. This eco-friendly museum equipped with advanced exhibition and education facilities is a model cultural space to help establish the visitors understand Ulsan’s identity.

Located just outside of Seoul, Samaksan Mountain and Deungseon Fall is the perfect destination for weekend outings for those in the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas. The most popular hiking course on the mountain (appropriate even for beginners) starts from one waterfall (which is fairly small with a x_height of 10m) and passes two other waterfalls, and Seonnyeotang. The course runs all the way to the top of Samaksan (654m above sea level). The mountain has several steep valleys and unique rock formations covered with thick forests. Looking down from the top, a stunning panoramic view of Uiamho Lake and Bukhangang River (and its many small islands) unfolds below.

Deogyusan Mountain Natural Recreation Forest (덕유산자연휴양림) is located south of Muju district. Within this recreation forest, there is small valley full of pine trees that extend toward the sky, creating a cool ambiance.Within recreation forest there are wildflowers, promenades, summerhouses, an observatory, a therapeutic forest walk, and various other facilities. The valuable cultural heritage of traditional Korean architecture scattered throughout the nation is on display at a one-tenth or one-fifth scale in this museum.

The Jangsaengpo Whale Museum (opened on May, 31 2005) is the first and only whale museum in Korea and stands on what used to be a central area for the Korean whaling industry. After whaling was banned in 1986, 250 artifacts from whalers and the whaling industry were collected and put on display. Visitors can enjoy experience zones such as the Whale Belly Road or the Underwater Adventure Zone. Exhibitions include things like a Bryde's whale skeleton, a killer whale skeleton, a gray whale corner, and whaling ships.

Korea International Circuit is the hybrid F1 circuit that combines two courses in Yeongam and Jeollanam-do. The circuit consists of two tracks: the F1 grand prix track and the regular track (stretching over 3.045km). The two tracks accommodate a variety of races. In addition to the F1 circuit, the Korea International Circuit plans to host both Korean and international motorsport events for years to come. The total length of the circuit stretches over 5.615km, which is the second longest in the world behind Monza Circuit (Italy/5.793km). It is the longest circuit in Asia. The circuit consists of an F1 pit building (14m in x_height), a control tower, a media center, a building for teams, grand stands holding up to 120,000 visitors, parking facilities, and entertainment facilities. Particularly fascinating is the fact that the track is run with the sea as a backdrop. It is also designed to maximize the speed of cars. It will host the 2010 F1 Korea Grand Prix, an FIA long-distance car race approved that is held for the first time in Korea.  

Gapado Island is 5.5 km away from Moseulpo Port, south of Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do.Dutchman Hendrik Hamel stumbled upon the shores of Jeju-do and later introduced the island to the West. The island has a monument for Hamel, set up to honor his contributions to Jeju. Jeju Trick Eye Museum opened in January 2013 as the third in the franchise, after Hongdae and Busan. The museum offers exciting and unique paintings created with a special technique to appear 3D. Visitors can create 'new' works of art by placing themselves into the famous paintings for a fun experience and one-of-a-kind souvenir photo.
