The town of Cheongpyeong was named after the area's clear waters.  Located not too far from the station are Cheongpyeong Dam and Homyeong Lake, and the winding course of Cheongpyeongcheon Stream is quite a sight to behold. Cheongpyeong Station is also a gateway for tourists visiting Homyeongsan Mountain, Homyeong Lake, Anjeon Recreation Area, The Garden of Morning Calm, and Petite France. The station opened on July 25, 1939 upon the opening of the Gyeongchun Line. It was originally located at 338 Chongpyeong-ri, Cheongpyeong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, and was later moved to its current location on September 1, 2009. The Gyeongchun Line finished upgrading its double-tracked line in 2010; the new alignment opened and the old one closed on December 21, 2010.

Psyche World offers a wide variety of attractions including a display of over 10,000 butterflies representing some 3,000 different species. Psyche means “butterfly” in Greek and it is also known as the lover of Cupid in Roman mythology. Parody World depicts human life using butterfly and bug specimens. Live World offers children opportunities to observe and experience parakeets, hamsters, birds, rabbits, bugs, butterflies, hedgehogs, beetles, stag beetles, and cocoons. Study World is full of attractions and information on butterflies and bugs. Visitors can observe live butterflies and bugs flying everywhere and rest at Crystal House. Parody World, Live World, and Study World offer information in English and Chinese for international tourists. Located across from Jeju Horse Racing Park, Psyche World is 15.3km from Jeju International Airport toward Jungmun Resort Complex. Visitors may take a taxi from the airport. The fare is approximately KRW 9,500-10,000.  

Daecheong Dam (대청댐) is a multi-purpose dam consisting of a 72m-tall and 495m-long concrete gravity dam and rockfill dam. It is located where Daejeon and Chungcheongbuk-do meet. The observatory, located at Palgakjeong Service Area, offers a great view of Daecheongho Lake (대청호). A variety of fascinating items are displayed in the Water Culture Center (물문화관) on the left bank of Daecheong Dam. A nearby grassy meadow promises a relaxing and comfortable rest, while local delicacies such as freshwater fish stew and marinated grilled eel are a delight to taste.

An excellent place to see exhibitions and learn about and experience ecology, the Nakdong Estuary Eco-Center is located in Saha-gu, Busan. The center consists of three floors with the first floor home to an information office, a maintenance office, an educational room, and a volunteers’ room. The second floor is home to exhibition rooms, an experience zone, a small library, and an observatory. Audio-visual rooms are located on the third floor. The center runs a variety of experience programs so that visitors may explore the estuary, observe plants and insects, walk around tidal flats and reed beds, and make wooden sculptures. In addition, visitors can observe birds and compare the eggs and beaks of various birds. The center is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is closed on Mondays and New Year’s Day. The Nakdong Estuary Eco-Center, in turn is full of excellent amenities: picnic grounds, a botanical garden, a hiking trail, an observatory, abundant resting spots, an outdoor learning center, and lush trees.  

Situated in Yeongok-myeon (Dongdeok-ri), this spacious beach (56,000m2) stretches over 700m. Surrounded by a lush pine forest, this beach is ideal for camping. Fishing lovers can enjoy catching sweetfish at Yeongokcheon Stream flowing from Sogeumgang (Sogeum River); there are a variety of restaurants offering delicious Korean food along the stream as well. Dongdeok-ri used to be home to a railway station and a traditional market. Trading ships—moving between the Hamgyeong and Gyeongsang areas—used to populate the beach. The beach and its surrounding attractions are great for both hiking and swimming.  

Samsung Innovation Museum is an electronic industrial museum run by Samsung, a major global company based in Korea. The museum mainly consists of three sections. Visitors can learn about the history of Korea's electronic industry, as well as the past, present and future of the semiconductor, display and mobile industries, where Samsung made great achievements. The museum also runs an education facility called Children's Display Research Institute.

Bongnae Waterfall is three-tiered with a x_height of 25 meters. The flowing, cool water brings a slight chill to the area surrounding the falls, especially in summer. As a major tourist attraction, Bongnae Waterfall is also the only source of drinking water for residents in Ulleung-eup. Most of the water used in restaurants and inns in Ulleung-eup come from Bongnae Waterfall.Two sites near the falls are well worth visiting: Punghyeol (natural air vents from which cool subterranean air blows) and the Forest Retreat. Punghyeol is located between Jeodong-ri and Bongnae Waterfall. During the peak of summer, chilly winds of about 4 Degrees Celsius blow from the rock openings and is often known as the “natural air-conditioner”. Next to Punghyeol is a thick forest of cedar, which makes a wonderful vacation spot during summertime.※ Note: This area is restricted due to unexpected incidents of landfall. Dasan Heritage Site is located in the hometown of Dasan Jeong Yak-Yong (1762~1836), a scholar from the late Joseon Dynasty. Growing up in the village, Dasan criticized corruption, and tried to reform outdated institutions and conventions. During his long exile, Dasan authored "Mongminsimseo" (a book on how to rule the people) and "Gyeongseyupo" (a book on how to reform land policies, stabilize people's lives, and strengthen the nation and its army) among others. Today, Dasan is regarded as one of the greatest scholars of Silhak (Realist school of Confucianism) of the late Joseon Dynasty.At Dasan Heritage Site, Dasan's birthplace, Yeoyudang, grave and works are well preserved. Dasan Memorial showcases the scholar's achievements and footprints such as Geojunggi, a traditional equipment used to lift heavy objects in the Suwon Fortress construction, and the miniature Gangjin Dasan Chodang, where he lived in exile. Dasan Cultural Center houses Dasan's numerous writings and books.
