Textbook Museum
 
Chungcheongnam-do() ,
Textbook Museum, the only one of its kind in the world, was established by the textbook publishing company Nirae-N with an aim to offer a historical overview of the Korean education system. It showcases Korean textbooks from the 19th century Enlightenment period to the contemporary time, and also carries a collection of foreign textbooks as well as North Korean textbooks. Located inside the publishing factory, the museum enables viewing of the textbook publishing process.

Donggang Museum of Photography
 
Gangwon-do(Yeongwol-gun) ,
Donggang Museum of Photography, Korea’s first-ever public photo museum, opened in July 2005. Housed in a building with one basement level and two ground levels, the museum has a permanent exhibition hall and two special exhibition halls. There is also an outdoor gallery and a lecture hall.Some of the museum exhibits include donations by photo artists who participated in the Donggang Photo Festival, an event held since 2002, together with donations by winners of the Donggang Photo Award. Visitors will also find photos highlighting the natural and cultural heritage of Yeongwol and about 800 photos taken by town residents. Another noteworthy addition is the exhibition of 130 classic cameras, a must for camera enthusiasts and aficionados.

Seosomun Martyrs' Shrine

The four-way street right in front of the Seosomun Gate area was once an official execution ground in the Joseon Era. It was also called “Sigumun,” literally meaning “the gate where dead bodies were carried out.” The corpses travelling through the gate scared many people, alerting the public to keep away from criminal acts and actions against the royal regime. For the Catholic believers in Korea, Seosomun is considered to be one of the significant holy sites because many Catholic priests were martyred at this very site. Among 103 Korean martyrs, 44 were martyred here. In addition, a beatification was held here in 2014, blessing 124 people.

Dodong Mineral Spring Park

Located at the foot of a mountain, Dodong Mineral Spring Park is 300 meters from Dodong Harbor. Located in the park are the Dokdo Museum, and the Museum of History, as well as a mineral spring. As the name implies (yaksu means “medicinal water”), the spring contains minerals known as effective treatments for anemia and digestive disorders. After tasting the healthy water, one can take a look around this picturesque garden park. There is also a cable car that runs from Dodong Mineral Spring Park to Manghyangbong Peak, and in good weather, one can see Dokdo from Manghyangbong Peak.

Ogyeonjeongsa House

Ogyeonjeongsa House (옥연정사), located at the foot of Buyongdae Cliff in Andong’s Hahoe Village, was built by Ryu Seong-yong, a minister during the Joseon period. The construction started in 1576 (the 9th year of King Seonjo’s reign) and was completed in 1586 (the 19th year of King Seonjo’s reign). After the end of the Imjinwaeran (the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592), war memoirs called ‘Jingbirok’ were written here. To get to Ogyeonjeongsa House, you will need to cross the river by ferry. Even though the house is not extravagant, you can enjoy the humble beauty of a traditional Korean house, complementing the natural beauty of the surrounding cliffs, river, and forest. * Sesimjae School (세심재) This private school has a Gamrokheon wooden floor in the middle with adjacent rooms on both sides. * Wolnakjae House (원락재) Wolnakjae means ‘waiting for a friend.’ In this house, the minister Ryu Seong-yong wrote his war memoirs called Jingbirok. * Hands-on Center Sesimjae (two rooms (4 persons or less per room), Gamrokheon wooden floor) Wolnakjae (one room for 8 or less persons, Aeoheon wooden floor)

Lighting Museum

The Lighting Museum, the only one of its kind, is dedicated to the art, culture and history of lighting. The 2-story museum is divided into several different sections: Traditional Lighting Hall, Modern Lighting Hall, Lighting Art Hall, Color & Lighting Experience Hall, and Lighting Art Experience Hall.

Suseungdae Park
 
Gyeongsangnam-do(Geochang-gun) ,
Geochang-gun is situated in the mountainous inland area in the northwestern part of Gyeongnam Province and shares borders with Gyeongbuk and Jeonbuk provinces. Suseungdae (수승대) is located in Deogyusan National Park (덕유산국립공원), which is located in the center of the adjoining three provinces. Suseungdae is one of Geochang’s oldest tourist attractions. Suseungdae was originally named ‘Susongdae’ since it was a place where Baekje dispatched its envoys to Shilla during the Three Kingdom Era. Later, in the Joseon Dynasty, the name was changed to Suseungdae. Old-style lecture halls and pavilions provide great lookout points for visitors. The attraction is also fully equipped with an outdoor swimming pool, a camp site, and various other facilities. On August evenings, it is also the place of The International Theatre Festival.
