Okjeongho Lake (옥정호), in Imsil, Jeollabuk-do, was once a popular place for fishing. But since it was designated as a water supply source protected area, fishing has been prohibited. The picturesque lake is large in scale with a total volume of water amounting to 430 million tons. The Okjeongho Dam blocks the upstream of Seomjingang River, which flows through the Noryeong Mountains in Imsil-gun (county), and supplies the Jeongeup on the other side. There are the Unam Bridge and Byeorakbawi (boulder) in the area. The early morning view of the thick fog lingering above the still water is especially breathtaking to see in autumn.

Located in the southernmost part of the Korean peninsula, Sebang Nakjo Observatory is one of the best places in Korea from which to catch the sunset. From here, you can look out over a flock of small islands set amidst a sea sparkling with the glint of the setting sun’s rays. As the sun sinks below the horizon and the sky becomes tinged with a rainbow of reds and oranges, the color seem to catch in the rocks of each island, making for an indescribably stunning view. The Jindo West Coast Highway portion from Gachi-ri (where Sebang Nakjo is located) to Gahak-ri has been named one of the “Hundred Most Beautiful Roads of Korea” and is the best scenic driving course to take if you want to see unobstructed views of the islands and the expansive blue waters.  

Deogyusan Mountain was designated as Korea's 10th National Park in 1975, along with Odaesan Mountain.  To the east is Gayasan Mountain, the west Naejangsan Mountain, the south Jirisan Mountain, and to the north Gyeryongsan and Songninsan Mountains. The auto campsite, located inside Deogyusan National Park, has a clean and organized surroundings due to the divided grass-covered sections.

Sail Spa Land is uniquely located at the top of a mountain. Sail Spa Land offers top-ranking hot spring water, and also has a whirlpool-equipped hotel-style family pool, the first of its kind in Korea, and an open-air bath about 330 square meters that is directly connected to a public bath.

From Pungho-dong, follow Haengam-ro for four kilometers and cross the small mountain pass to reach Suchi Village and Suchi Beach. Nestled in the mountains facing the quiet sea, Suchi Village was once a small village with only a few inhabitants. In recent years, the city has grown dramatically and draws a steady stream of visitors who come for the hoe (sliced raw fish), a local specialty served fresh all year round.The town and its main beach boast a variety of amenities including hoe restaurants, accommodations, and parking lots. Happo, the nearest town, also offers plenty to see and do and surrounds visitors with forests and other natural wonders. Happo is famous as the site where Admiral Yi Sun-Shin (1545-1598) achieved many victories against the Japanese navy during the Imjin Waeran War (1592-1598).

Nami Recreational Forest is the perfect place for leisure activities and family outings. The forest boasts a picture-perfect view of thick, green forests of broadleaf trees, crystal clear water, curiously shaped rocks, and waterfalls. From the top of the hills, you’ll be able to catch a wide-open view of the cliffs and rocks of Daedunsan Mountain.Nearby the forest are diverse cultural heritage sites such as ‘Baengnyeong Holy Ground’ (former site of a palace during the Baekje Kingdom) and ‘Yukbaek Goji Jeonseung Pagoda’ (a Korean War memorial). The Nami Recreational Forest provides visitors with a unique combination of cultural sites and natural beauty, making it a popular destination among visitors of all nationalities.

Waryong Recreational Forest is a clean natural resort created by clearing a portion of a lush forest near the source of Geumgang River at an elevation of 650-1,200m. The trees and valleys with clear water make the place an excellent home for animals and wild flowers. The place also has a swimming pool, a water sled park for children, hiking trails and forest paths.

Deokpung Village is a typical mountain village with bountiful resources and a great potential for development. The village has abundant forest resources with rare and valuable flora and fauna and is home to a natural recreational forest, mountain goats, and wild ginseng. The major income sources of this village are farm products such as pepper and garlic. You can enjoy fly fishing, hiking and a variety of hands-on experience programs. It also has several places to accommodate tourists.
