Jirisan History Museum

Jirisan National Park spans from Daeseong-ri, Hwagae-myeon, Hadong-gun to Byeoksoryeong (벽소령), where the Jirisan History Museum is. A guide map of North Korean red guerrilla routes on Jirisan Mountain can be seen in front of the museum and the museum explains the history of North Korean fighters in the area. The North Korean partisans didn’t surrender even after the Korean War ended. The Jirisan History Museum shows the guns used at the time and visitors can also get to know the life of slash-and-burn farmers living in the area of Jirisan Mountain. Hanboknam

Started in Jeonju in 2012, Hanboknam strived to promote the beauty of hanbok. In 2016, Hanboknam opened a hanbok exhibition and rental shop in Seoul to provide customers with numerous style of hanbok from the king and queen to beggar.Various accessories that go with different hanboks are also available to try with rental period available in 1 hr 30 min., 2 hr 30 min., and 4 hours.

Robot Studio (토이로봇관)

Robot Studio is an experiential exhibition hall that presents a vision of the future robotics, featuring experiment robots, robot avatars, and reproduction of movie scenes. The studio offers a family friendly setting, featuring a toy room, building block games, 4D-media room, robot camp, and more. The studio's major attraction is Despian, a robot that can express human emotions and act scenes from popular movies such as Star Wars and Jaws.

Ulleungdo Lighthouse

Ulleungdo Lighthouse was first lit in 1958 as a guiding light for boats coming to and from Ulleungdo Island. The lighthouse is a round, white concrete structure rising 7.6 meters high with a light reaching as far as 50 kilometers away. The hiking trail up to the Ulleungdo lighthouse is a natural, narrow path among groves of trees. The gentle slope is surrounded by uniquely shaped cliffs, so it is a popular hiking course for tourists.

Gurye Special Tourist Zone

The vast region of the Gurye Special Tourist Zone comprises Toji-myeon, Gwangui-myeon and Sandong-myeon, which has a river and an open field surrounding the mountainous area. Every part of Gurye deserves the title of Special Tourist Zone for offering many things to see. Well-known for its rich soil, the most outstanding natural resources of Gurye is Jirisan National Park, the first to be designated as a national park, and Seomjingang River. Every year, many hikers visit Jirisan National Park, also called the “bosom of a mother.” The park is cherished for its unpolluted scenery, such as its deep and wide geographical features and crystal clear valleys. The park offers diverse hiking trails and has mountain retreats for backpackers. Jirisan Dulegil Trail that runs along the periphery of Jirisan Mountain is where one could enjoy the experience of mountain glens, different from mountaineering. On their way hikers and trekkers can see groups of Sansuyu (cornus fruit) in spring as well as the autumnal tints of the mountain and valley in autumn. Another strength is that the park has different types of accommodations including Hanok (Korean traditional house) homestay and a guest house, apart from leisure facilities including hot springs in Jirisan. The park is a great place for historical inquiries as it is filled with historic temples, including Hwaeomsa Temple and Yeongoksa Temple, and historic relics. Flowing from Gokseong to Hadong, Seomjingang River creates a tranquil ambience. The cleanest ever in Korea, a large number of marsh snails and sweetfish live in this river. Naebyeonsan Mountain (내변산)

The Byeonsanbando Peninsula has a shoreline that stretches 99 kilometers, protruding into the west sea in Jeollabuk-do, with the Saemangeum, the world’s longest man-made sea barrier, to the north and Gomsoman Bay at its south shore. The peninsula is part of Byeonsanbando National Park, which is widely known for its natural beauty. Its interior mountain range is known as Naebyeonsan Mountain (Inner Byeonsan Mt.) while the outer region near the sea is known as Oebyeonsan Mountain (Outer Byeonsan Mt.). The center of Mt. Naebyeonsan includes the highest peak of Byeonsanbando peninsula, Uisangbong Peak (509 meters) and Nakjodae (Sunset Viewpoint), Wolmyeongam Hermitage, Bongnaegugok Valley as well as Jiksopokpo Waterfall. The surrounding mountains and valleys of Mt. Byeonsan are not particularly high, standing at an altitude of around 500-600 meters, but the magnificent formation of mountains and valleys as well as the breathtaking view of the sunset from Nakjodae make it a must-see sight. The center of Mt. Naebyeonsan is the area that includes the highest peak of Byeonsanbando peninsula, Uisangbong Peak (509 meters) and Nakjodae (Sunset Viewpoint), Wolmyeongam Hermitage, Bongnaegugok Valley as well as Jiksopokpo Waterfall. Soyangho Lake
 
Gangwon-do(Yanggu-gun) ,
Soyangho Lake (소양호) is a man-made lake that was created when Soyang Dam, the biggest rock-filled dam in Asia, was built in 1973. The lake is a hotspot for marine tourism and the lakeside road is an important route that connects Chuncheon and Yanggu. You can travel overland for an hour to get to the dam or take the Kwaeryongho Boat (쾌룡호), a hovercraft that operates regularly on Soyang Lake, and get there in 30 minutes. The hovercraft travels by ejecting air against the surface below, sending up a spray of water on either side of the boat to the delight of passengers. Once you are in the valley, you can see fish farms floating among the islets. When the water level is high, you can travel on the lake all the way to Inje and Sinnam enjoying the beautiful scenery of Naeseorak. Both tourists and locals regularly make use of the ferry service.

Namwon Keuneong Promenade (남원 큰엉해안)

The word "eong" means "a hill" in the Jeju dialect. The name "Namwon Keuneong" means "a huge hill shaped like a mouth opened toward and ready to swallow up the sea." The flatlands on the cliffs are covered with soft green grass.Visitors will be inspired by the area’s untouched nature and two naturally-made caves.While walking along the seashore cliff, visitors will come across 2 km-walking path, an observatory, a simple resting place, a fishing site and restrooms.

Bidulginangpokpo Falls (비둘기낭폭포)
 
Gyeonggi-do(Pocheon-si) ,
Bidulginangpokpo Falls, Natural Monument No. 537, is located within a small valley. The waterfall is surrounded by grand columnar joints. The landscape appears quite mysterious and serene, earning it a spot as a poplar filming site for historical dramas. The falls gets it's name ("Pigeon Falls" in Korean) from the story of many wild pigeons nesting in the caves around the waterfall. Other say the name comes from the area's shape. During heavy rainfall, the road to the waterfall is closed, so checking the weather before visiting is recommended.

Jangseongho Lake Resort
 
Jeollanam-do(Jangseong-gun) ,
Known as the hometown of Hong Gil-dong (a famous robber known for his chivalry), this area, located in Jangseong, Jeollanam-do, also has a huge man-made lake in the south of Naejangsan National Park called Hangseongho Lake, boasting a fabulous natural scenery, as a prime resort area in Jangseong. Various fresh water fish can be caught here, making the resort popular for those who love fishing. You can go on excursions with motor boats, go water skiing and canoeing. Surrounded by the mountains, the resort has promenades laid around the lake side for relaxing strolls. You can also hike up to Ibamsan and Baegamsan Mountains, and take a look at Baegyangsa and Naejangsa Temples.
