Sangju Silver Sand Beach

Sangju Silver sand Beach is busy all year long, with professional athletes coming for physical training in the winter, students camping in the spring and fall, and vacationers visiting the beach in the summer.Sangju Silver sand Beach is extremely popular especially in the summertime, attracting up to 1 million tourists who heard about the beach’s sands, waters, and groves. Families and vacationers in the summer especially love this beach, due to its beautiful white sands that stretch for 2 km and slope lazily into the shallow waters that are perfect for children to play in.Behind the beaches lies Geumsan Mountain, a place well known for its sunrises. If you happen to arrive in the evening, it’s highly recommended that you see the sunrise at Geumsan Boriam in the morning, enjoy the beach’s water during the day, and at last, enjoy an evening of ocean fishing at either Namuseom Island or Dolseom Island(Rock Island), situated right in front of Sangju Beach. To one side of the white sands are campgrounds, and the surrounding area consists of shopping streets and accommodation. 

Aerospace Museum

Sacheon’s Aerospace Museum (항공우주박물관) opened in August 2002. Outdoor exhibits include 13 kinds of aircraft used by the Korean Air Force since the Korean War, five retired aircrafts donated by the American Forces, and two armored vehicles and three cannons used by the land forces. The indoor collection includes over 1,000 items such as wartime photos, battle gear, artifacts from fallen soldiers, and other wartime memorabilia. The museum’s collection also includes the soviet-made ZIS-110 limousine that former North Korean leader Ilseong Kim used during the Korean War, 18 aircrafts such as T-6 (Geonguk), and F-86 fighter jets, and T-34 armored vehicles primarily used by the North Korean army during the war. In this museum, built as a symbol of Sacheon’s rise to the nation’s aerospace hub, visitors can learn more about the aerospace industry and aircrafts.  

Samcheok Ocean Rail BIke

Samcheok Ocean Rail Bike is Korea's one and only ocean rail bike facility that offers a landscape view of black pines and bizarre rocks merged together. Its double-tracked route of 5.4km follows the beautiful shoreline of the East Sea with a tunnel along its way that entertains bikers with fascinating luminarie and laser shows, giving feelings as if it is passing through a mysterious underwater tunnel. The railbike course is perfect to enjoy unique and memorable experiences for families, friends and couples. Online reservation in advance is required.

Bogwangsa Temple

Bogwangsa Temple is a traditional temple located on Goryeongsan Mountain in Paju-si. It was built by the great monk Doseonguksa during the Silla Kingdom under the order of Queen Jinseong in the eight year of her reign (AD 894). Bogwangsa Temple offers a temple stay program through which participants can learn about temple etiquette and experience temple life. Activities include attending Buddhist services, participating in prayers of repentance, engaging in Zen meditation, and eating temple meals and learning about the temple tea ceremony. The temple is set against a naturally scenic site and the sounds of the water flowing in the valley mixed with the Buddhist chants result in a calmness difficult to find anywhere else!

Geumgang Estuary Bird Sanctuary

Starting from Subun-ri, Jangsu-gun of Jeollabuk-do, Geumgang River flows from the east to the west passing through Chungcheong-do and the northern region of Jeollabuk-do before it reaches the Yellow Sea at Gunsan. In the old days people had to cross the river from Gunsan to Janghang by boat but over the years an estuary has formed at the mouth of the some 400-km-long river so that today people now come and go in their cars between the two cities.Geumgang estuary became a famous tourist attraction because of its majestic beauty but it has changed quite a bit compared to how it was before. Waves of reeds stretch along the riverside, and behind it are some hills that include Dolsan Mountain at about 100m and the more substantial Mt. Oseongsan at 230m. Come November a flock of swans fly into the estuary. It is truly a sight to behold. As well as being the breeding grounds for swans, the estuary has become a sanctuary for many rare birds including oyster catchers (Haematopus ostralegus) and Saunder’s gulls (Larus saundersi). So, visitors in winter can feast their eyes on the many birds that have made the estuary their home.

Jungwon Falls

Jungwon Falls is located at the eastern edge of Jungwon Valley in Jungwonsan Mountain, Yongmun-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun. It is a popular place for tourists in summer, attracting the attention for its three-tiered falls (under 10m high) surrounded by cliffs with fantastic rock formations that look like folding screens, and a pond with an impressive depth and x_width.

Darangshi Oreum

Located the Northeastern part of Jeju Island, the Darangshi Oreum is a parasitic volcano that stands about 380 meters above sea level. From Darangshi Oreum, visitors can overlook tourist attractions such as Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak), Udo Island, Mt. Halla, coastlines, and various parasitic cones.The mountain has an oval shape from south to north with a steep incline. The top has a large, deep funnel-shaped crater that still preserves its original shape unlike craters in cones. The name Darangshi is derived from the fact that the mountain looks like a moon ('Da' meaning 'Moon' and 'Shi' meaning 'Mountain').Trees are scattered here and there at the top, and the outskirts of the mountain are decorated with cedar trees. Meadow plants, such as Aster yomena, populate most of the mountain. A gentle hill to the right of Darangshi Oreum is called Akkun Darangshi Oreum (also called Sowol Nangak). Meaning 'small,' 'Akkun' is both old Korean and Jeju dialect.Darangshi Oreum hosts Wollang Peak Sunrise Festival every year allowing visitors to see the spectacular full moon from the crater. There are nice wooden stairs in place for easy ascent, and the mountain is also a popular site for paragliders. 

Ttangkkeut Village
 
Jeollanam-do(Haenam-gun) ,
This area is famous as it is on the very tip of the Korean peninsula, located in Galdu-ri of Songji-myeon. This is where Baekdusan Mountain ends reaching the tip of the peninsula. Many people visit the area so they can say they’ve stepped on the end of the land and it has long become a prime destination in Haenam.At the summit of Sajabong peak there is an observatory that stands 38m high. From the observatory you can get a full viewing of the Dalmasan Mountain in the north while in the east, fishing vessels can be seen skirting deftly on the surface of the sea. Atop the summit of Sajabong peak, there is a restored old beacon (Bonghwadae) which in the past was strategically located to warn of approaching Japanese ships. In the village proper, the area known as Ttangkkeut Village (땅끝마을), special events take place to celebrate the end of year and the first day of the New Year, which also draws many tourists to the area from all over the country.
