Ujeon Beach stretches 4 km in length on the southwestern coast of the island of Jeungdo-myeon, the biggest natural salt producer in Korea. The silvery white sand as well as the view of the sealine dotted with over 90 deserted islands make Ujeon Beach one of the most attractive seaside destinations. Visitors to Jeungdo Island can explore the sites of salt production and Haetae (a type of seaweed) farming, or go fising at nearby islands, including Naegaldo and Oegaldo Island, Myeongdeokseom Island, Daeseom Island, Bunamdo Island and Myeongseom Island.

Sambong Beach is located to the south of the bridge that connects Nammyeong and Anmyeon-eup. The beach stretches 3 km long and has a x_width of 120m. The beach gently slopes down at a 2° angle and has an average water depth of 1.5m and temperature of 22°C. The beach is easily accessible to many visitors because of the convenient transportation during the summer. The three Sambong Rocks, the Haedanghwa flower (plena) and the rich pine forests are just a few of the beautiful and magnificent features of this beach. The name Sambong, is derived from the three rocks, however four rocks can be seen from the north facing southward while only three are visible from the south. The sand dune created by natural phenomena is a must see here. 

Mt. Biseulsan stands at the edge of Cheongdo-gun and Dalseong-gun. It is not such a high mountain, but because of its scenic beauty and clean air, it’s an easy place to want to visit again. Mt. Biseulsan has long been known as a temple place, and according to the legends it’s to produce a thousand saints from its regions. Famous monk Il-Yeon (monk scholar of the Goryeo Period) apparently spent his 20s here, training for his career as a monk. At that time Il-Yeon spent his time in the Bodangam Building learning about various faiths and their scriptures, and it became a solid basis from which to write his famous Samgukyusa, a compilation of the history of the three kingdoms). The most beautiful aspect of Mt. Biseulsan is the Azaleas that blossom in the spring. Painted crimson red, the flowers harmonize perfectly with the complementary colors of the surrounding forest. All through the year, the pine forest fills the mountain, and the broad-leaf trees come alive in the fall in all their brilliant autumn colors in perfect harmony with the fantastic looking rocks of the mountain peaks. Large areas of the ridge tops become covered with purple eulalias, and it provides a majestic view for the fall mountain climbers.

Gyeonggi-do Yangpyeong’s Saneum Recreational Forest (산음자연휴양림) is located at the base of Danwol-myeon Saneum-ri Bongmisan Mountain. The forest is very lush and the valley boasts spectacular views. The list of trees includes pine, oak, and maple.Facilities include promenades and mountain trails. For lodging there is the Forest Cabin, forest Lodge, and camping grounds. The Astro Camp was established to encourage young children to take an interest in space and natural science and to develop creative problem-solving skills. To this end, the Children’s Observatory provides a wide range of educational programs developed by expert educators from diverse fields of majors at Yonsei University.In the future, the observatory hopes to continue to expand its experience-centered, in-depth educational programs to help children reach a better understanding of astronomy and natural science principles. Programs focus not only on providing children with accurate information, but also seek to encourage participants to be self-motivated thinkers.

Situated at the southernmost part of the Korean peninsula, Ttangkkeut Songho Beach is the most representative beach in Haeum, featuring dense old pine trees, fine sand, and shallow water perfect for a family vacation spot. Hundreds of pine trees create a scenic forest almost 1km long along the levee which provides a suitable camping site under the forest. Ttangkkeut-gil walking path connects the front of an auto camping site at Songho Beach to Galsan Village and Ttangkkeut Top. The Windbreak pine tree forest in Songho-ri, Haenam is designated as Jeollanam-do’s Monument No. 142, including around 600 pine trees aged 200 years and playing a role in the coastal shelterbelt.

Gyebaek (? - 660) was a general in the ancient Korean kingdom of Baekje. This historic site is not far from Hwangsanbeol, the last battlefield of General Gyebaek who fell defending Baekje at the end of its days. Allied troops from Silla and Tang attacked Tanhyeon and Baekgang, strategic sites held by Baekje, in 660 (the 20th year of King Uija’s reign). General Gyebaek and his 5,000 soldiers fought against General Kim Yu-sin and his 50,000 soldiers. General Gyebaek successfully defeated the allied troops four times, but was ultimately unable to overcome the insurmountable numbers brought to bear by his foe. The Baekje army was finally defeated, and the last general of Baekje, Gyebaek, died in the battle.

The 19km-long Bugak Skyway runs along the northeast ridge of Bugaksan Mountain. Opened in September 1968, the road quickly became known as one of Korea’s most scenic driving routes. The road offers lovely views of Bukhansan Mountain’s Bibong Peak and Munsubong Peak on one side and Namsan Mountain on the other side. Trees line the roadside and different flowers bloom per season. The skyway leads to an octagonal pavilion at the top called Palgakjeong, where visitors can get a panoramic view of the city, take photos, and have a meal or coffee while enjoying the scenery. Yongmunsan Natural Recreation Forest offers, log cabins, camping sites, a multi-purpose playground, walking paths, and hiking trails. The forest offers a great view of downtown Yangpyeong and blends well with the surrounding landscape. The Baegunbong hiking trail inside the forest is recognized as one of the best trails in the area. Baegunbong Peak is 940 meters high and one of the more popular hiking destinations on the mountain. Various rest facilities are provided along the trail. There are several hiking trails, all of which are relatively gentle, and continuous work is underway to improve the trails. The forest is a popular destination in Yangpyeong and a treasure house of natural ecology where visitors can observe various plants all year round.
