Followed by Sangsangmadang Hongdae, KT&G Sangsangmadang Nonsan is now open in Nonsan, Chungcheongnam-do. The facility has guest rooms, a cafe, restaurant, multipurpose hall, photo studio, dark room, seminar room, media room, an atelier, a mini swimming pool, and a nurse's office. The place offers an array of hands-on programs at the original site of Hancheon Elementary School which was the educational institute for 30 years in Hancheon-ri, Sangwol-myeon, Nonsan-si before being remodeled as a multi-cultural art space in June, 2011.

Chuncheongo Lake is a man-made lake at the foot of Chuncheon Dam on the upper region of the Bukhan River. The area’s beautiful landscape and its easy accessibility make it a popular tourist destination and weekend getaway spot for Seoulites. The road along the top of the dam acts as a connecting expressway between Chuncheon and Hwacheon. The road continues past Uiam Lake, a fantastic fishing spot great for family visitors. Maeuntanggol (street of chili fish stew shops), formed around the Dam, is famous throughout Korea, offering the nation’s best chili fish stew, made from fresh catfish and mandarin fish. The Chuncheon Dam was built in Feb. 1965, blocking the flow of water from the Bukhan River into Paro Lake. The water level is not very consistent in Paroho Lake and fish may sometimes be scarce because of the lake’s narrow entry point. The area still attracts a large number of people because of its superb scenery and easy accessibility.

The Boryeong Beach Special Tourist Zone consists of three major attractions: Daecheon Beach, Muchangpo Beach and Jukdo Island. The 3.5-kilometer-long, 100-meter-wide Daecheon Beach is known for its annual Boryeong Mud Festival, which attracts about 2 million domestic and international tourists for its mud festivities. The soft, white sand and lush pine trees also make this an idyllic beach to visit. Various accommodations can easily be found here since the area has been a popular tourist destination for quite some time. Located south of Daecheon Beach, Muchangpo Beach is where you can witness a sea-parting phenomenon in the summer. The 1.5-kilometer “Mystic Sea Road” between Muchangpo Beach and Seokdaedo Island reveals itself when the sea levels go down due to the difference in the ebb and flow of the tides. During the sea parting, visitors will be able to catch clams, crabs and shellfish. The beach also offers a breathtaking view of the sunset. Jukdo Island is located midway between Daecheon Beach and Muchangpo Beach. This unpopulated fishing island is known for its dense groves of bamboo trees. The waters in front of the island are clean and full of fish, drawing a large number of visitors for sea fishing. Jeodonghang Port is the biggest port in Ulleung-gun where most of squid fishing and related process take place. “Jeodongeohwa,” referring to the luring lights from the boats for squid fishing is one of the famous “8 Major Beauties” of Ulleungdo Island. Chotdaebawi Rock, sitting next to port sea wall, has a sad legend about a daughter who died from grievance when her father never came back from fishing. Now, the port has a large fish market.

In order to preserve it, Olleung (온릉) tomb is not open to the public. This is the royal tomb of Queen Dangyeong (1487-1557), consort of King Jungjong, the 11th ruler of the Joseon Dynasty. Queen Dangyeong got married to King Jungjong when she was 13 years old. In 1506, when King Jungjong ascended to the throne, she became a queen as well, but she was deposed after only 7 days. Therefore, her grave at first was not regarded as a royal tomb. However, in 1739, the tomb was designated as a royal tomb.

With an elevation of 1,573 meters above sea level, Hambaeksan Mountain is the tallest mountain in the eastern part of Gangwon-do Province. The main ridge of the mountain stretches between the city of Taebaek to the east and Yeongwol and Jeongseon counties to the west. The mountain offers a fine vantage point from which to get a sweeping look at the entire region (including Taebaeksan and Baegunsan mountains) and commands a striking view of the sunrise over East Sea. The three starting points for hiking Hambaeksan Mountain are Dumundongjae Pass, Manhangjae Pass, and the entrance to the Jeokjoam Hermitage. The hiking path that begins at Dumundongjae Pass and leads to the peak is especially recommended for its scenic views. Hambaeksan Mountain is particularly well known for its breathtaking snowscapes and extensive wildflower beds. Hambeaksan Mountain is also home to Jeongamsa Temple, which was built by Buddhist monk Jajangyulsa in the year 636 during the reign of Queen Seondeok of the Silla Kingdom. The temple is home to the Sumanotap Pagoda (Treasure No. 410) and is bordered by a stream that provides a natural habitat for the Brachmystax lenok (Natural Monument No. 73), a member of the trout family.

Located Hwasun-ri, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Marine Park is the first national whale experience site with 2 above-ground floors and 1 basement level. It is comprised of a 3D photo zone on the first basement level, an indoor dolphin experience site on the first floor, and children’s aquarium that exhibits 100 species of fish local to the Jeju region on the second floor. Activity programs include feeding dolphins, experiencing being a dolphin trainer, dolphin swimming and snorkeling, diving with dolphins and prenatal education with dolphins.
