Haneul Park (하늘공원)

Haneul Park (Sky Park), located within the World Cup Stadium Park, is a grassland park that was formed where the second site of the Nanjido Landfill once stood. As it was once a landfill and the soil especially poor, the Haneul Park wasteland recovery project demonstrates how nature can flourish out of what was once barren land. Since the year 2000, around 30,000 butterflies have been realeased on Nanjido Island, which is located in the middle of Haneul Park. At Haneul Park, visitors are met with scenic views of Seoul in every direction with Bukhansan Mountain to the north, Namsan Mountain and the 63 Building to the east, Han River to the south and Haengjusanseon Fortress to the west. These spectacular sights can be fully enjoyed from the observation platform. The park also offers benches and other areas for visitors to take a short rest and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Haneul Park.

Seoul Munmyo
 
Seoul(Jongno-gu) ,
Munmyo is a shrine dedicated to Confucius, whose teachings form the foundation of Confucianism. It is also dedicated to his disciples and other great Confucian scholars. Munmyo is not only the shrine but also the highest educational institution of the Joseon Dynasty. Munmyo was once called as Munseonwangmyo since during the Tang Dynasty, Confucius was named as King Munseon after his death and then it has been called as Munmyo since the Yuan Dynasty.The compound consists of two main areas: the Daeseongjeon houses shrines and the Myeongryundang features seminar halls and other auxiliary facilities. Also, there are two dormitories, Dongjae and Seojae, which are collectively known as Sungkyunkwan. In front of the Myeongryundang stands a ginkgo tree designated as Natural Monument No. 59. In spring and autumn, a ritual for Confucius and his disciples takes place.

Suyeong Bay Yachting Center

Used during the 86 Asian Games and the 88 Seoul Olympics, Busan Yachting Center is an internationally acclaimed with more than 1,300 yachts and international facilities. Numerous yacht races are held here. It also has various facilities in commemoration of the Olympics, such as Sculpture Park, Recreation Park, Strolling Path and some cafeterias. In the vicinity are leisure water sport training schools such as a yacht school, wind surfing school, and scuba diving school. There is also a big yacht where you can enjoy the East Sea. The surrounding scenery is absolutely beautiful with the open ocean. This center also possesses squares and monuments. The walls have been torn dow completely in February 2002 to combine the harmony of the ocean and the forest and it is now open 24 hours free of charge for citizens. Thus, it has received many compliments as well as love from the people.Located in Haeundae, many other tourist sites are also available such as, Dalmaji Road, Haeundae Beach, Dongbaek Island, Sonjeong Beach and gwangalli Beach.

High1 Ski Resort

Located in Jeongseon, Gangwon-do, High1 Ski Resort is a great vacation spot for families as well as a top resort for advanced skiiers. Several beginner slopes are located right next to the intermediate and advanced slopes, letting skiiers of varying levels ski together. High1 Ski Resort is Korea’s most environmentally friendly resort and many of the native trees have been well-preserved. Resort planners hope to develop an all-season ecological tourist attraction, showcasing the region’s beautiful wild flowers throughout spring, summer and fall. Located 1,340 meters above sea level is a revolving restaurant, which offers an incredible panoramic view of no less than three different mountain ranges. The restaurant goes through one full rotation every hour, giving diners a complete view of the beautiful scenery of the region. Dongbaekseom Island

There are many islands named Dongbaekseom Island (동백섬) in the South Sea where dongbaek trees thrive. Among them, the Dongbaekseom Island in Busan used to be an island, but is now part of the mainland. Dongbaekseom Island is a very small, and many dongbaek trees and evergreens thrive there. At the top of the island, there is a statue and a monument of Choe Chi-Won, a scholar and writer during the Silla Kingdom.The Busan Tourism Organization has declared Dongbaekseom Island Tourist Site No.46. The island also has Dongbaek Park (동백공원) and a 2.5 m high statue of a mermaid near the beach which many tourists can easily visit on their way to the beach.

Children’s Museum

The Children’s Museum is a hands-on experience museum run by the National Folk Museum of Korea. A variety of visual aids and assembly models allow children to touch and feel pieces and experience folk history in an interactive way. The theme of the exhibition consists of folk clothing, food, shelter, social life, and entertainment. The museum has a number of interactive spaces including a table set for an ancestral ritual, magnet miniatures depicting a baby’s first birthday, and an area where young visitors can build a folk house. Young learners can also create an avatar clad in Hanbok, make Kimchi using visual aids, or play Gonu (a traditional board game). The museum also collects, preserves, and maintains relics and historical items related to youth and youth culture.

Teddy Bear Farm

Located in Sokcho, the Teddy Bear Farm Gallery offers a glimpse into the unique lifestyle of Sokcho through teddy bears: teddy bears are displayed mountain-climbing, skiing, playing golf, riding a boat from Abai Village to downtown, working hard on a squid fishing boat, sun tanning, or even defending the country. Visitors can purchase teddy bears at the gift shop and there are also some learning programs for teddy bear fans.

Songtan Special Tourist Zone

The Songtan Special Tourist Zone in Pyeongtaek is located near a US military base and consists of shopping malls and entertainment facilities. It is often referred to as “Little Itaewon” because it bears a similarity with Itaewon’s alleys. The districts of Sinjang and Seojeong are part of this tourist zone.The main attraction in the Sinjang district is the shopping mall that was completed in 1998. Visitors can shop and spend their leisure time along the 300-meter-long pedestrian road that starts from the US military base. In Songtan’s Seojeong district, there is a popular cherry blossoms road and a public park where people can relax.There’s a bike path on Buraksan Mountain and a wide variety of delicious food at the Pyeongtaek Jungang International Market. The Korea-US Friendship Culture Festival is held in September and the Moro Culture & Art Festival in October. Hallim Park

Hallim Park is one of the most popular tourist spots on Jeju Island, located 33km west of Jeju City and Mt. Hallasan along the beach in Hallimeup. It faces the pleasant scenery of Biyangdo Island, Hyeopjae Beach and Geumneung Beach. The park was established on barren land in Hyeopjaeri, Hallimeup, then covered with tons of earth and the planting of assorted subtropical plants began in early 1971.Hallim Park, reaching almost 100 thousand square meters, has a variety of gardens that can be enjoyed in any season. Visitors can enjoy checking out Palm Tree Road, Jeju Stone and Bonsai Garden, Water Garden, Subtropical Botanic Garden and much more. The most famous tourist sites in Hallim Park are Hyeopjaegul and Ssangyonggul Caves, known to be the only two-dimensional caves in the world. In addition, a folk village, children's amusement park and outdoor resort facilities make it enjoyable for both children and adults.
