ACC Performance is a platform for contemporary performing arts in Asia. Serving as a platform for the creation and distribution of performing arts projects focusing on Asia, ACC Performance seeks to establish itself as an international hub bridging Korea, Asia, and the rest of the world. It offers original performance programs that usher in the future of performing arts across multiple genres, special performance programs that provide cultural and art experiences for people of all ages, and invitational performance programs that expand cultural opportunities for citizens by featuring the most memorable and noteworthy performances.   Original Programs   The ACC creates new performance programs that defy genres. Theater 1 at ACC Theater is Korea’s largest variable “black box” theater. The theater is built for new types of performance that transcend the confines of conventional theaters, space and genres. The ACC seeks out content tailored to Theater 1 that fully utilizes its variable structure and stage system, with a view to building its own repertoires.       ACC Original Programs   Asia Culture Center Original Programs   ACC Theater develops and distributes various forms of performance programs based on Asia’s cultural resources. From the children’s theater production, The Giggling Tree in 2015, ACC Theater developed and distributed another children’s theater production The Little Musician in 2016, the English musical Treasure Hunters in 2017, the film voice acting show Free Wedding, and the animation music theater Sugungga in 2018.     Co-Produced Programs Asia Culture Center Co-Produced Programs Collaborating with curators in Korea and other Asian countries, the ACC discusses cultural and social issues from different cultures and co-produces artistic representations of them. The ACC also pursues co-production projects with art organizations in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do, Korea, to build foundations for local art communities. Yi Sang-hwa is a nationalist poet, who resisted the Japanese colonialism. This house had been his residence from 1939 until he died in 1943. Unfortunately, the house had been neglected since. However, the citizens' movement in 1999 to preserve the house urged the Military Mutual Aid Association to purchase it, and donate it to the City of Daegu on October 27, 2005. It has been restored and opened to the public, serving as the center for education of the poet's brave spirit and work.

If you follow National Road No. 15 up from the Bamboo Museum, you’ll come across a beautiful and exotic boulevard that looks like it is came straight out of a fairytale. This unearthly place is the Metasequoia-lined Road. Metasequoia trees were planted along the street in the early 1970s when the Ministry of Internal Affairs officially designated the road as a “boulevard.” At that time, the saplings were only 3 to 4 years old and their branches stretched sparsely out into the sky; now, the trees have grown so high that they seem to block out the sun! Thanks to these stately trees, in 2002 the Korea Forest Service selected the boulevard as one of the most beautiful roads in Korea. The 4 kilometer-long boulevard is located along National Road No. 24 and is one of the most popular driving routes in Korea, especially during summer when the trees’ lush green leaves are at their x_height of beauty. Feel free to stop your car along the roadside to take a walk among these 10 to 20-meter-tall trees and breathe their fresh scent. Bicycling along this route and appreciating its real beauty at a leisurely pace is also highly recommended.  

Located in Jeongseon, Gangwon-do, High1 Ski Resort is a great vacation spot for families as well as a top resort for advanced skiiers. Several beginner slopes are located right next to the intermediate and advanced slopes, letting skiiers of varying levels ski together. High1 Ski Resort is Korea’s most environmentally friendly resort and many of the native trees have been well-preserved. Resort planners hope to develop an all-season ecological tourist attraction, showcasing the region’s beautiful wild flowers throughout spring, summer and fall. In addition to a topnotch skiing experience, visitors to High1 Resort can enjoy a truly unique dining experience. Located 1,340 meters above sea level is a revolving restaurant, which offers an incredible panoramic view of no less than three different mountain ranges. The restaurant goes through one full rotation every hour, giving diners a complete view of the beautiful scenery of the region. Other leisure facilities at the resort include a casino, golf course, sledding slopes, leisure sport facilities, and much more.

When it opened in 1988, Seogwipo Submarine was the first of its kind in Asia the third in the world. Seogwipo Submarine offers safe undersea tours in its recently acquired state of the art submarine from Finland. Munseom, where the submarine travels, is home to outstanding coral reefs, colorful schools of fish, and rich seaweed. The exquisite landscape makes it one of the most beautiful places to dive as well. Going deep into the 40 meter sea-bed, visitors can see countless fish, rare iridescent coral reefs, and a surreal-looking shipwreck with schools of fish surrounding it. Over 20 years of technical knowhow and safe operation (in fact, the longest submarine tour without a single accident on record) make Seogwipo Submarine a must-see attraction on Jeju Island. 

Bosu-dong Book Street has a unique background. It was formed after the independence of Korea (August 15) as a residential area in the empty place where the previous Gukje Market was demolished. People started selling the books Japanese left behind, and later on, when it became a private area, book sellers moved to the current place to sell their books. When Busan became the provisional capital during the Korean War, refugees brought and sold their precious books for a living. As time went by, professors and students came to the alley and started purchasing books, contributing to the build up of the current book street. Once, used books were gathered in the alley and rare books could be found. Thanks to this, more temporary buildings were formed. At that time, about 70 books stores were available for students to sell and buy used books. In the early 60’s when the publication culture was not yet settled down, many students and educated people had to sell their books and then buy secondhand books or magazines. After going through this time, the Bosu-dong Book Street became a famous book street throughout the nation. The prices of books are scaled according to the conditions of the book or bargaining.

Located in Bongseong-ri, Aewol-eup, Saebyeol Oreum (also called Hyoseongak) is a parasitic volcano located almost 520 meters above sea level. It is a famous oreum, which means 'mountain in the Jeju dialect, and hosts the Jeju Jeongwol Daeboreum Fire Festival every year, marking the first full moon day of the lunar calendar. During the festival, the pampas grass covering the oreum is lit and the entire oreum becomes engulfed in flames. The mountain is renowned for it’s elegant curves, connecting ridges as well as being one of the best spots to overlook the nearby landscape.While thickets blanket the North Slope, the rest of the mountain is a meadow. Burial mounds can be seen on the northwest, southwest and the southern outskirts of the mountain. The name is related to Saebyeol Oreum the lonely morning star rising first in the night sky. Visitors can climb to the top of the mountain within 30 minutes.Visitors are not permitted to climb Saebyeol Oreum at times due to fire danger (Feb 1 to May 15 and Nov 1 to Dec 15), so they should check the availability of hiking at the Aewol-eup Office prior to their visit.※ Aewol-eup Office: +82-64-799-6001* Information on Hiking Restrictions during the Mountain Fire Warning Period 

The Yangnim-dong Missionary Cemetery is the final resting place of 23 missionaries who brought Christianity to Gwangju and led the movement to free the nation from under Japanese colonial rule. Yangnim-dong in Gwangju Metropolitan City was the main area in which Priest Bae Yu-ji and Dr. Clement Owen carried out their work as the first missionaries to Jeollanam-do Province. As part of his outreach, Priest Bae Yoo-ji established the Jennie Speer Memorial School for Girls. Clement Owen dedicated himself to serving the church and providing medical care along with his wife, who was a nurse. Nearby is a monument dedicated to Priest Bae Yoo-ji and the Owen Memorial Building, built in honor of Dr. Clement Owen and his grandfather. Both memorials are cultural assets and particularly prized by locals of the Christian faith.

The magnificent cliffs and tree-lined seaside views of Amnam Park bring the harmony of the bluish-green waters and the forested landscape together. Made into a protected area, entrance was not permitted until its opening to the public in 1996, when visitors could first experience the untouched landscape. In the park one can fish, visit an observatory, and enjoy the walking path and elevated bridge. The abundance of pine trees along the walking path makes for a pleasant stroll; going up to the observatory, this well-forested area offers great views. If it is fishing that you want, here you can fish on the ocean as well as off the fantastically shaped rocks. There is a famous road from Songdo Beach to Amnam Park that is popular for leisurely drives. This drive is about 5 minutes, but for those who want to walk it’s about 20 minutes.

Established and run by the Goeun Foundation, the Goeun Museum of Photography and the Goeun Contemporary Photo Museum are located in Haeundae, Busan and are the first photography museums founded outside of the capital city of Seoul. The museums aim to offer more cultural opportunities to visitors by collecting real and valuable works representing both Korean and international artists. The venue also acts in the discovery and support of new and up-and-coming artists. Goeun Museum of Photography has an exhibit room on the 2nd floor, as well as a seminar room and a photo library on the 1st floor. Goeun Contemporary Photo Museum has 3 different spaces for exhibitions, mainly concentrated on contemporary photo works.
