Gyeongpoho Lake, which means “clear as a mirror”, is located 6km northeast of Gangneung, and is also called Gunjaho Lake. Gyeongpoho Lake was formed when the mouth of a bay was closed by sand and pebbles brought in by the sea currents. It is famous as a destination site for migratory birds. It used to be a large lake with a circumference of 12km, but it diminished because of the accumulation of dirt and sand.Gyeongpoho Lake is the setting of the tale of Hwarang and cultural relics from the prehistoric age, and on the Rock Island in the middle of the lake, there is a small pavilion which holds a hanging board called Joam, believed to be written by Song Si-Yeol. There is also a legend that rises from Gyeongpoho Lake: With the moon shining in the sky, it is reflected on the ocean, on the lake, in a glass of wine, and of course, two moons shining brightly in the eyes of someone falling in love.Gyeongpoho Lake was famous as a fishing site as it is clean and clear but due to pollution it was designated as a nature protection site and fishing has been banned.

Jisan Country Club offers the most relaxing golfing experience with its beautiful and tranquil courses surrounded by the calming beauty of Mother Nature and the refreshing scent of the woods. One gigantic-sized pond and a number of large and small ponds located around the 36-hole course add to the challenge but this can also be a chance for a high-spirited and adventurous golfer to achieve a more x_heightened sense of victory.

Cheongsong, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province is very famous for its high-quality water. Cheongsong Eoreumgol Valley sits at Okgye Valley in Yeongdeok, Cheongsong-gun County. In this mysterious valley, water freezes during the peak of summer and melts when the temperature falls below 32 degrees Celsius. The most shocking thing though, is that the higher the temperature gets, the thicker the ice! Many people visit here during the summer to taste the cool water or to take in the picturesque views of the surrounding rock formations and the nearby temple. There is also a cliff named Wonja Rock right below the ice valley, which provides a retreat from the heat and gives visitors a beautiful view of the 62 meter-high artifical waterfall. During the wintertime, the waterfall is frozen and many people come to climb the ice wall or participate in the annual Ice Wall Climbing Competition. Even if you're not into sports, the shining wall of frozen water makes for a beautiful site and is a wintertime favorite among the nation's photographers.

Juknokwon in Damyang is a bamboo forest cultivated by the town of Damyang. Seonginsan Mountain behind Damyang Hyanggyo (Confucian school) was transformed into Juknokwon Bamboo Garden featuring a beautiful artificial waterfall, pavilion, walking paths and an eco-exhibition center, a popular destination for visitors. It takes about 1 hour to tour around the entire garden. Crossing Hyanggyo Bridge from Juknokwon, a forest for preventing floods can be seen. Lights are turned on in the evenings in the bamboo forest for night walk. 

Route 14 (19km) runs from Jeoji Community Center to the Biyangdo Island Hallimhang Harbor Ferry Dock. The trail passes through Sonang Forest, Mumyeongcheon Stream, a cactus habitat (seoninjang) in Wollyeong-ri, a Haenyeokong bean habitat, Ongpopogu Port, and Biyangdo Island. Hikers will pass through forest trails and rocky paths.

KOFIC Namyangju Studios is located at Yangsu-ri, Gyeonggi-do and includes outdoor sets as well as studios. At the Film Culture Museum, it is possible to see and experience all stages of film production from beginning to end. In addition, there are many props and accessories as well as wardrobe departments. The outdoor sets from the Korean hit "JSA" in 2000 to director Im Kweon-taek's film "Chilhwaseon (Strokes of Fire)" are located here.

Roe Deer Observation Center, opened in August 2007, offers a place where you may observe and watch over 200 roe deer romping around the field. Also, the park has a theatre in which you may learn about the life of a roe deer. Moreover, a wide variety of programs are offered to the visitors including eco-life experience program and feeding roe deer. City Tour Bus program is also available for those who wish to take a tour around the park on a bus.

Jade Garden, created under the theme of ‘Small Europe in the Forest,’ is located near Jade Palace Golf Club on a plot of land measuring 160,000 square meters. The 24 distinctively-themed areas in the garden boast a total of 3,000 plant species including rhododendron, maple trees, irises, and blueberry bushes as well as patches of thick, natural forests. The arboretum makes the most out of its natural valley topography and presents visitors with a mix of tidy gardens, graceful flowers, and an array of European-style architecture.For the convenience of its guests, Jade Garden operates a Tuscan-style visitor’s center where patrons can enjoy a simple snack or beverage and purchase souvenirs. Visitors may choose from three different walking courses (each 2 hours in length) around the arboretum and there a gardening program is also available for aspiring gardeners.

Suyanggae Prehistory Museum boasts itself as the largest prehistoric site in Korea. The museum contains a multitude of remains, especially stone toolkits, of the late Stone Age and has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The stone toolkits were discovered by a museum of Chungbuk National University while the team was on the project to excavate historical remains around the site that were submerged due to the construction of Chungju Dam. The museum provides detailed explanations and maps marked for the prehistorical sites in Danyang. Visitors can learn the life and wisdom of Paleolithic man in the museum.

Surrounded by Mt. Noja (565m) and Mt. Gara (580m), Hakdong Mongdol Beach provides a cozy atmosphere. Hakdong was named so because its shape was said to be like a crane (in Korean "Hak") flying up to the sky. Compared to other beaches, it has small pebbles, "Mongdol" in Korean, spans a distance of about 1.2 km, is 50m wide and covers a 30,000 ㎢ area starting from Yongbawi Rock. The feeling one gets when walking on these pebbles is soothing and the sound of the waves are refreshing. You can also soothe your feet when you walk on the rocks and activate acupressure points on the soles of your feet. The wild camellia forest, which blooms along the seashore in February and March, creates a beautiful landscape. You can also see the Parlsaek (8 color) birds that come here. These colorful birds can be seen from June to September.Hakdong Mongdol Beach has a lot of summer visitors and is the perfect place for vacationing families. The water is clear and clean, and setting up tents on the beach is possible.Near the beach, there are not only great restaurants specializing in sliced raw fish, but also restrooms and homestays which are well-equipped. There is also a beach festival every summer. An excursion ship starts at Hakdong and cruises towards Haegeumgang and Oedo Paridise Island. It would be romantic to take this ship through the crimson Haegeumgang at sunset.
