Solmoe Holy Ground
 
Chungcheongnam-do(Dangjin-si) ,
'Solmeo' gets its name from a small cluster of pine trees. The first Korean priest, Saint Kim Dae-gun Andrea was born here on August 21, 1821 and continued to live until he was seven to escape from persecution by following his grandfather to Handeok-dong, Yongin (Golmaemashil). Furthermore, it is where four generations of ancestors such as his great-grandfather Kim Jin-hu (martyred in 1814), great uncle Kim Han-hyun (1816), father Kim Jae-jun (1839), and priest Kim Dae-gun himself (martyred in 1846) lived.He was chosen as a theological student in Golmaemashil and studied in Macao. In 1846, he was ordained as priest by Bishop Ferréol in Shanghai, Kim Ga Hang Cathedral. After his return to Korea, he worked in Yongin until September 1846 when he was tried, executed and died a martyr when he was only 26. Pope Johannes Paulus II appointed him a saint during his visit to Korea in May 1984. In Solmoe, Priest Kim Dae-gun’s statue and a memorial stands underneath the pine trees and his remains are placed inside the nearby cathedral.

Aeyangwon Church - Reverend Son Yangwon Martyr Memorial Hall)
 
Jeollanam-do(Yeosu-si) ,
Located in Sinpung-ri, Yulchon-myeon, Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do, Aeyangwon Church (Reverend Son Yangwon Martyr Memorial Hall) commemorates Reverend Son Yangwon. He began his religious activities and relief efforts at a group home for patients suffering from Hansen's Disease located in Aeyangwon Church, but he was later detained at Yeosu Police Office because he refused to honor Japanese Shinto shrines in 1940. The Memorial Hall's construction was completed on March 27, 1994 in order to commemorate Son Yangwon, who was shot and killed by the North Korean army during the Korean War. The exhibition hall on the first floor displays photos of Son, photos related to Christianity, keepsakes and calligraphy artwork, and the exhibition hall on the second hall displays his prison writings and old books.

Villa of Rhee Syngman
 
Gangwon-do(Goseong-gun) ,
During the 1950's three leaders, Kim Ilsung, Rhee Syngman and Lee Ki-poong had summer houses built around the lake of Hwajinpo. The villa of Rhee Syngman, Korea's first president, was built in 1954 but fell into a state of disuse by 1961. It was not repaired until July of 1997 by the army, and was fully restored in 1999, opening as an exhibition hall.

Deungseon Waterfall

Deungseon Waterfall is located 80km north of Seoul and 10km southwest of Chucheon. It is situated inside of a 100m valley along the Gyeongchun National Highway, perfect for a shor trip or one-day tour course from Seoul, Gyeonggi, or Incheon areas.

Gangchon Resort

The Gangchon Resort (강촌유원지) is a small village nestled along the Bukan River in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do. The river is on one side of the village, while Bongwhasan Mountain and Samaksan Mountain are on the opposite side, creating a beautiful scenery from all directions.Gangchon Station is conveniently located near the entrance to the recreational area. Many young couples enjoy taking the romantic train rides to this cozy little village. Therefore, this spot has became a popular place for college students to go to on weekend trips.The village area has campgrounds, a youth hostel and other lodging facilities, bicycle paths, bungee jump facilities and many other recreational areas.In addition, the area is especially famous for mountain biking. There are many places to rent bicycles; for those are not accustomed to mountain biking, motorized bicycles are also available. The most popular bicycle course is the well-made route to Gugok Waterfall. Bicycles can be left in the parking lot located near the entrance to the waterfalls. From the entrance, it is just a short hike up to the waterfall. As there will be many people using this popular bike route, follow the crowds and do not worry about getting lost. The 67 meter high waterfall is a natural wonder. People flock to this spot in the summer to escape the heat and in the winter to see the ice sheets gracefully frozen in time.

Daegu Art Museum

Daegu Art Museum is a municipal museum supported by the Daegu Municipal Government. The museum holds exhibitions to promote Daegu's art advancement through the study of the art's historical value. The museum also has planned exhibitions introducing the social and artistic issues of the times and the leading trends in the art scene through domestic and overseas exchanges. Diverse performances and events such as academic programs and lectures with famous professors are offered to children, teens and citizens of all ages. The Art Information Center (museum library) is where visitors can peruse art-related books or rest at the lounge. Grand open: May 26, 2011

Dodong Lighthouse
 
Gyeongsangbuk-do(Ulleung-gun) ,
Located in the north of Dodonghang Port, Dodong Lighthouse is also called Haengnam Lighthouse. From here, you can get a great view of Jeodonghang Port and its surrounding sea. The coastline walk path, starting from the left of Dodonghang Port, leads to the lighthouse. Another way is through the Haengnam mountain path behind Ulleung-gun Office. The 1.4-kilometer walk path from Dodonghang Port to Dodong Lighthouse is fascinating and the round trip takes roughly an hour and a half. On clear days, you can see Dokdo to the east from atop the lighthouse. To the north, you can see the beautiful landscape of Jeodonghang, Chotdae Candlestick rock, and Seonginbong Peak (the symbol of Ulleungdo). The lighthouse has long served as a beacon for Ulleung sailors. In 2006, it was newly renovated to include a small park and exhibition gallery. Nearby, there is Dodong Yaksu Spring. The sparkling water is said to help digestion and treat skin problems.  

Sangnim Park
 
Gyeongsangnam-do(Hamyang-gun) ,
Sangnim Park, located in Hamyang-gun, Gyeongsadnam-do, was built to protect the edge of the river and the dry riverbed. This park is an artificial forest preserving a 1,200-year history. It is the representative tourist attraction in Hamyang and designated as Natural Monument No. 154.

12 Distinguished Hyeonpung Gwaks’ Shrine
 
Daegu(Dalseong-gun) ,
Designated as Daegu’s Cultural Property No. 29 on May 12, 1995, this shrine was built in the mid-Joseon period, during King Yeongjo's rule. The shrine holds 12 Jeongnyeo (monumental gates) awarded to the members of the Gwak Clan, built from the time of King Seonjo in 1598 to the time of King Yeongjo. It is an important and unique shrine because the Gwak Clan attained their 12 Jeongnyeo all in one village, which is quite uncommon. During the Joseon Dynasty, Jeongnyeo were awarded to honor loyal retainers, devoted sons, and exemplary husbands and wife.

Yeongam Gurim Village
