Baramsae Village Picnic Garden in Pyeongtaek is a special eco-park where visitors can enjoy a picnic in a natural setting. The park features wooden walking paths around ponds and marshes, as well as a sand playground, and is decorated throughout with sotdae (wooden bird poles). The mirror pond is particularly beautiful, reflecting the sky, reeds, and birds overhead.

21th DongGang International Photo Festival 2023  The Magical Unknowns We cordially invite you to submit your creative work to the prestigious 21st DongGang International Photo Festival, taking place from July 21st to September 24th, 2023, in the picturesque Yeongwol, Korea. ▲ DongGang International Photo Festival 2022 Curiosity, the desire to explore the unknown, is an inherent human need. The unknown may encompass not only what is completely unfamiliar but also what is presently disregarded or avoided. Often, uncharted territories have had the most profound impact on human history, whether previously unknown, unimagined, or simply neglected. The unknown need not be solely enigmatic or sacred. Whatever it may be, it holds its own irreplaceable magic. Those who are receptive to the unknown have the privilege of unlocking its mysteries and experiencing its wonder. Venturing into the unknown can be an extremely liberating and world-changing experience. What stories and secrets do the countless mysteries of the world hold? How will these magnificent narratives unfold? The sheer thrill of the hidden secrets and magic within the seemingly mundane and trivial can be utterly exhilarating! Individuals and collectives are welcome to apply; individuals should submit between 8 - 12 photographs from a particular series or body of work. One of the most well known sites to rafting maniacs is the Geumdang Valley of Pyeongchanggang River. It is a 5km course along Mt. Geumdangsan and Mt. Geomunsan from the Deungmaeji Village, which is at the upper stream, to Baegam-dong. The current of water is strong enough from the beginning that one does not necessarily have to row, and the water volume is high. The launching point of a proper Geumdang rafting course is from where you can see Mt. Geumdangsan rising behind the riverside, and finish at Baegam-dong. The water is clean and there are sandbanks sporadically, which are adequate for taking breaks. The water stream of Geumdang Valley joins with that of Pyeongchanggang River past Gaesuri. Pyeongchanggang River is a perfect fishing site for Mandarin fish, Korean piscivorous chubs, and Daces.

Naju Geumseonggwan Hall was a state-run guesthouse for government officials during the Joseon period. It was the venue for ceremonial praise rituals for the king, taking place on the first and 15th of each month, as well as banquets held in honor of visiting dignitaries. The building was constructed sometime between 1475 and 1479. The building was remodeled during the Japanese occupation, but was restored to its original design in 1977. It is currently registered as Jeollanam-do Important Cultural Heritage No. 2. There are a number of other cultural heritages located in the nearby vicinity.

Located in Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si, Changwon Marine Park celebrates the nation’s marine history and culture. Major facilities at the park include the Naval Battle History Hall, the Warship Exhibition Hall, and the Marine Life Theme Park. Opened in August of 1993, the Blue One Yongin Country Club (formerly known as Taeyeong Country Club) is a 1,518,737㎡ golf course with 27 holes. Beautiful works by Douglas Nickels, a renowned figure in the world of plastic arts, can be found throughout the golf course and around tees.   

Yuldong Park is a large urban neighborhood park located in the new section of Bundang in the city of Seongnam. Since its opening in September 1999, the park has become a favorite weekend hangout, frequented by residents of Seongnam and Seoul. This well-equipped park has a 45-meter bungee jumping site, a large fountain and a 33-acre reservoir encircled by a 2.5km promenade/bike path. Other facilities include a 13 meter-high artificial rock climbing wall, badminton center, children’s playground, foot acupressure path, grass plaza, year-round flower garden, field of reeds and theater. The park is also a popular date course for couples at nighttime as there are many quiet cafes located near the reservoir.
