Dotseom (돝섬) is an island 10 minutes off Masan Port. ‘Dot’ is an ancient name for pigs after which the island was named because its shape resembles that of a reclining pig. Gagopa Land is an amusement park located on Dotseom Island accessible by frequent ferry services that connect the island and Masan Port. Gagopa Land includes amusement facilities, restaurants and paths for walkers. On the island’s peak there is a 2000 m² wooden-floor observation deck where you can enjoy the sea view. The deck is equipped with a stage for holding various events such as sport competitions, games, balls and parties. The entire island is covered with thick forests, either manmade or naturally growing, where visitors can enjoy the abundant greenery.

The Seongho Memorial Hall was built by the municipality of Ansan in memory of Seongho Yi Ik (1681-1763), a great Neo-Confucian scholar from Ansan, to house his personal academic works and associated artifacts. The memorial hall was opened in May 2002 and has on exhibit the personal handwritten materials and works of Yi Ik and other relics related to his studies and philosophy. Major exhibits include Yi Ik’s hand-written poems and letters, the Seongho literary book, and books written by Toegye Yi Hwang, Misu Heo Bok, Bangye Yu Hyeong-won, and Dasan Jeong Yak-yong, most of which are the original copies. There are also a significant number of relics on exhibit that were once owned by individual collectors.

Located in the Gajisan Provincial Park, Yeongchuksan Mountain has an elevation of 1,059 meters. The name of the mountain “Yeongchuk” is known to have originated from the name of a mountain in the ancient kingdom of Magadha in central India. The mountain is also called Chwiseosan and has such beautiful scenery that it is often referred to as the Alps of Yeongnam. The broad valley that extends at the foot of Yeongchuksan Mountain provides a great walk to the hermitages scattered around the famous Tongdosa Temple. Yeongchuksan Mountain is considered the best of the eight beautiful places in Yangsan City. The other seven places are Cheonseogsan Mountain, Naewonsa Valley, Hongryong Falls, Baenaegol Valley, Cheontaesan Mountain, Imgyeongdae Terrace on Obongsan Mountain, and Tapgol Recreational Forest on Daeunsan Mountain.

The Hongdae Music Show Wedding Theatre which used to be the Hongdae Nanta Theatre opened on September 9, 2013 in Hongdae. Music Show Wedding is a show that combines live music, acting, and performances. The show features 23 musical instruments and a striking stage lit with 30,000 LED lights.

Samsa Marine Park is located south of Gangguhang Port, overlooking the expansive East Sea. Thanks to its picturesque beauty and variety of facilities, the park is a favorite weekend picnic spot for families. Major facilities include Theme Land, Happy Land, a performance hall, bungalows, restaurants, and stores. There is even an artificial waterfall and a 20 ton-rock carved with floral patterns that add an extra element of unique beauty. In the park you can see a great bell called Gyeongbuk Daejong, which was made to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the province. Another must-see sight for visitors to Gyeongsangbuk-do is Manghyangtap Pagoda, which was set up by those originally from North Korea. Every year on New Year’s Eve, a bell ringing ceremony takes place during the area’s sunrise festival as those separated from their families wish for reunification.

The building for Salt Gallery is the original stone-built salt storage in 1945, which remained intact. Previously a wooden storage for salt, it was later used as a warehouse for materials, and it is now transformed into a Salt Gallery after remodeling in 2007. The gallery was thought to a source of important historical data for salt farms since it remains the old scene from the past. Also, it offers a modern stone-built storage at this exhibition hall. The gallery exhibits everything about salt, from stories to anthropological aspects. In particular, the exhibition tries to break down the misunderstanding in which salt is thought to be the principal factor of diabetes and high blood pressure, and acknowledge the useful health benefits of salt by explaining the different types of salt uses. Beyond the general information on salt, the history behind salt is also explained. Suyeong-gu of Busan is a historical district nestled between Geumnyeonsan Mountain and Gwangalli Beach. It was the site of the Gyeongsang Jwado Marine Headquarters during the Joseon Dynasty. In fact, its name 'Suyeong' was derived from 'Sugunjeoldosayeong', meaning 'marine headquarters'. The Suyeong Sajeok Park was established in commemoration of the spirit of the Suyeong residents. It is designed to show their maritime lifestyle.

Samgilpo Port in Hwagok-ri, Daesan-eup, Chungcheongnam-do is located at the end of Daeho Seawall, which connects Hwagok-ri, Daesan-eup and Gyoro-ri, Seongmun-myeon, Dangjin-gun. The floodgate of the Daeho Seawall is also located at the site. The 7.8-km-long Daeho Seawall was completed on November 16, 1984. It is a scenic ocean drive with an expansive view of the large and small islands floating on the sea. It is also a popular sea fishing venue. In the middle of Daeho Seawall, is Dobido Island. It was developed as a recreational site equipped with accommodations, sports and recreation facilities, and a farmer’s market. It has since become a highly favored tourist destination. Around Samgilpo Port are a number of sashimi (Korean raw fish) restaurants where visitors can enjoy fresh seafood with a great view in a tranquil atmosphere. Daeho Seawall is also known as paradise for winter migratory birds, so each winter it attracts a number of birds, photographers, and birdwatchers.
