Yeosu Maritime Cable Car is the first of its kind in Korea that connects Dolsan island and Jasan mainland over the ocean. Crystal and standard cabins are available for passengers. In particular, crystal cabins allow passengers to observe the ocean below the feet, experience the thrill of being suspended in mid-air through its transparent flooring.

Introduction ‘Dolmens’ are stone graves/tombs which date back to the pre-historic era. Dolmens are largely concentrated in Northeast Asia with Korea alone being home to a total of around 30,000 dolmens. The Ganghwa Dolmen Heritage Site, in Bugeun-ri, Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, encompasses roughly 120 dolmens, most of which are Northern-style dolmen that are made of large pieces of stone 7.1m in length and 2.6m in height. The dolmens in this region are found in unusual altitudes of 100-200m above sea level and reveal important information about the prehistoric period. The Ganghwa Dolmen site was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage in Nov. 29th, 2000 along with Gochang Dolmen and Hwasun Dolmen sites. Bukhansan, officially designated a national park, is the highest mountain in the Seoul area. Beloved not only for its unique urban location, the mountain is also treasured for its natural beauty and cultural assets. Also known as Samgaksan (meaning “Triangle Mountain”), Bukhansan has three major peaks: Baegundae (the main peak), Insubong to the north, and Mangyeongdae to the south.One of the most prized cultural assets on the mountain is Geumseonsa, a Buddhist temple located along the hiking path to Bibong (one of the lesser mountain peaks). The temple was established by Great Monk Jacho (penname ‘Muhak’) who lived from 1327 (late Goryeo period) to 1405 (early Joseon period).One day when Monk Jacho was out searching for a suitable place to establish the capital of the new Joseon dynasty, he came across a plot of land and was immediately struck by a strange and sacred energy. Recognizing that the land was full of the energy of Buddha himself, the monk set about the establishment of Geumseonsa Temple.Even today, Geumseonsa is known as a place of miracles and legends. One of the more famous tales is of Monk Nongsan, who trained and meditated at Geumseonsa and was later said to have been reincarnated as King Sunjo of the Joseon Dynasty.

On December 29, 1967 Jirisan Mountain (지리산) was designated Korea’s top national park. Jirisan is the largest mountain national park in the nation. You can get a full view of the Seomjingang River (섬진강), which runs alongside the mountain and into the Namhae Sea. If you’re lucky you can also spot some various plants and animals, including the Asiatic Black Bear, making Jirisan Mountain an even more interesting and inviting place to visit. As Jirisan Mountain changes with the different seasons, hikers can enjoy various aspects of the mountain’s terrain. However, there can be heavy rain and snow in the summer and winter, so some areas will be closed off in case of drastic changes in the weather and temperature. In the spring and fall, you can explore the mountain relatively freely. However, access may be limited to some areas for fear of forest fires in the dry season. This is the Royal Tomb of King Muyeol (무열왕릉) the 29th of the Silla Kingdom (654-661). He allied his forces with those of the Chinese Tang Dynasty and unified the Korean peninsula. This large tomb is 114 meters in circumference and 8.7 meters in x_height. Natural stones were piled on the bottom of the tomb, and they remain buried underground. The monument stone is gone, leaving only the turtle-shaped base stone and the dragon-carved head stone. Carved in relief is the inscription “Taejongmuyeolwangneungbi” (태종무열왕릉비), which indicates the owner of this monument.

Opened in 2015, Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Village reproduces the old scene of a whale-catching fishing village through areas like Whale Plaza, Jangsaengpo Old Village, Prehistoric Whale Experience Garden, an aquatic botanical garden and other themed area as well as a sculpture park. Main facilities include Jangsaengpo Old Village, nostalgia area and educational site showing a scene of life from the 1960-1970’s, Whale Sculpture Park, displaying real-sized whale sculptures for a unique experience, Whale Story Trail, storytelling photo zone related to whales, and Prehistoric Whale Experience Garden, outdoor educational place for Bangudae Petroglyphs and whale-catching murals.

Located in Piseo-ri, Mangun-myeon in Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do Province, Muan International Airport serves as a transportation hub for both domestic flights and as an alternative hub for international flights in and out of Gwangju Airport. Construction of Muan Airport started in 1999; the airport opened for business in November 2007. Nearby the airport are a series of beautiful coastlines spanning a distance of approximately 220 kilometers.
