Jucheongang Riverside Recreation Forest

Jucheongang Recreational Forest encompasses a forested area of 700,000-pyeong near Juchoengang River in Hoengseong-gun, Gangwon-do and is the nation’s first large-scale riverside forest. Located only 4km away from the Dunnaegyo Intersection of the Yeongdong Expressway, the recreational forest is easy accessible from Seoul. [Namhae Barae-gil Road - Course 1] Daraengi Jiget-gil Trail

Barae-gil Road gets its name from the belief of Namhae families that the ocean gives life. The purpose of walking along Barae-gil Road is not to simply get some exercise, but to learn life experiences through participating in activities along the way, such as farming and fishing. Course 1 - Daraengi Jiget-gil Trail stretches along the coast from Sachon Beach to Daraengi Village. The trail spans 16km and takes around 5 hours to complete. The trail affords views of the incredible natural scenery from the ocean waves pounding onto the pebble beaches to the terraced fields of rice.

Jungang High School (Main Building) (서울 중앙고등학교 본관•동관•서관)

Jungang High School is located in Jong-ro near Samcheongdong-gil. It was built to educate the public at the beginning of the 20th century. The school’s main building was reconstructed in 1937 after the original two-story brick house was destroyed in 1934. The main building situated in front of the main gate is a two-story H-shaped granite stone building in Gothic style, with a four-story tower in the middle. The school holds historical significance because it was designed by Park Dong Jin, one of Korea's first modern architects and the designer of Korea University’s main building and library and the Chosun Ilbo Newspaper Company building. Jungang High School is designated as Historic Site No. 281. Many national leaders were educated at the gothic building during the grim period when Korea was trying to escape Japanese colonial rule.

Woljeon Museum of Art Icheon

Located in Seolbong Park, the Woljeon Museum of Art Icheon commemorates the great artist Woljeon Chang Woo Soung and his works. Originally opened in Seoul Jongro-gu Palpan-dong, the museum moved to Icheon in August 2007 when Woljeon bequeathed the museum to Icheon City along with 1,532 pieces of artwork and personal memorabilia. The new Woljeon Museum has 2 stories and 1 basement floor with 5 exhibitions halls (permanent & planned exhibition halls), a Woljeon Memorial Hall, a lecture hall, a souvenir shop, and a cafeteria. In the permanent exhibition hall, Chang’s masterpieces and personal belongings are on display, ranging from paintings and calligraphic works to stamps, ceramic works, books, and stationery.

Hani Lavender Farm was opened on a 33,000㎡ plot of land in 2006 by Ha Deok-ho, the "lavendar missionary." Mr. Ha originally operated an herb shop in Gyeonggi-do but moved to Goseong to grown his own lavendar for use in products. The area of the farm has the ideal condition for lavender to grow.

The Sanmaki Yetgil (Old Road) is a 4-kilometer long old path connecting Saorang Village (located in Waesa-ri, Chilseong-myeon, Goesan-gun Chungcheongbuk-do Province) to the mountain village Sanmaki. Restored by retracing the old path, Sanmaki Yetgil is a great walking trail passing by mountains, streams, and forests. Most of the path is paved with wooden deck in the eco-friendly method to minimize damages to the environment and to maintain the natural look. The surrounding beauty is recognized as the best scenic view of Goesan. The natural ecosystem around Goesan Dam has been preserved in its original state.

21th DongGang International Photo Festival 2023  The Magical Unknowns We cordially invite you to submit your creative work to the prestigious 21st DongGang International Photo Festival, taking place from July 21st to September 24th, 2023, in the picturesque Yeongwol, Korea. ▲ DongGang International Photo Festival 2022 Curiosity, the desire to explore the unknown, is an inherent human need. The unknown may encompass not only what is completely unfamiliar but also what is presently disregarded or avoided. Often, uncharted territories have had the most profound impact on human history, whether previously unknown, unimagined, or simply neglected. The unknown need not be solely enigmatic or sacred. Whatever it may be, it holds its own irreplaceable magic. Those who are receptive to the unknown have the privilege of unlocking its mysteries and experiencing its wonder. Venturing into the unknown can be an extremely liberating and world-changing experience. What stories and secrets do the countless mysteries of the world hold? How will these magnificent narratives unfold? The sheer thrill of the hidden secrets and magic within the seemingly mundane and trivial can be utterly exhilarating! Individuals and collectives are welcome to apply; individuals should submit between 8 - 12 photographs from a particular series or body of work. Selected 15 - 20 artists including ‘Artist of the year’ (individual artist or 1 team of winner) will benefit from: A-year-long exhibition that exposures at the DIPF Festival - inclusion in art magazine, any related press (long term festival representation and promotion on official website, publications, catalog that being seen by a substantial number of visual arts professionals and the media) where the works viewed by an international panel of influential experts in the field of photography * 'Artist of the year' - solo exhibition at DIPF (production - printing, framing or related presentation material will be provided) and eligible for travel and accommodation to attend the opening.   SUBMISSION GUIDELINES   1.
