In Seoul's Ikseon-dong neighborhood, some of that charm is alive and well. Turtle Supermarket is a small, rustic place that feels like a throwback to another era. Despite its name, Turtle Supermarket is not a fully fledged supermarket. The only items sold here are snacks and drinks and there are tables for patrons to use. Most visitors purchase and eat their snacks on-site. Jwipo (dried filefish and dried squid are also available for purchase and customers can grill the items at their table over charcoal briquettes. Turtle Supermarket is especially popular with fashionable young Seoulites and the most popular order is jwipo and pale ale. Mullae-dong is a trendy and gritty Seoul neighborhood known for its arty and hip vibe. Vinyl House is a cafe and gastropub that also doubles as an arts venue that hosts performances and exhibitions. Vinyl House resembles a greenhouse as its roof and walls are covered in thick vinyl sheets.   Content Content The tables and chairs are also plastic, and they're the same tables visitors may spot outside of Korean convenience stores. Vinyl House has a funky, laid back atmosphere that puts diners at ease. The most popular menu item is basil shellfish jjim (braised in liquor). Though refered to as snacks in Korean, bunsik can make for a complete meal as the dishes offered are items like deep-fried dumplings, veggies, and shrimp, sundae (Korean sausage), and tteok-bokki (stir-fried rice cakes). Diners can also order beer to have with the meal. Lucky Bunsik's interior design resembles old school food stalls that Koreans would have eaten at in their youth. Food stalls that sold bunsik were and remain popular spots for Korean students.
