The name ‘Healience’ is a compound word combining ‘healing’ and ‘science’. The two accommodation buildings with two stories each – Garden Building and Forest Building - were also built with the concept of harmony with nature. The garden building was designed by world-class Korean architect Seung Hyo-Sang, under the theme of “aesthetics of the poor”, which implies an environmentally friendly concept. The first floor of the garden building features courtyards which allow for a sufficient amount of light, and a walk up to the second floor reveals a skylight with a view of the stars at night, allowing the guests to fall asleep in nature. Then, at the end of 2016, the forest building was designed by Korean architect Kim Joon-seong with the concept of “construction of correspond” (two or more objects correspond to each other), thus Healience Seonmaeul consists of a total of 88 guestrooms. Coogee Holiday is a newly built private pool villa pension located between mandarin fields near Cape Seopjikoji, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do. There are five types of guest rooms in Coogee Holiday. Coogee A Type uses the entire two-story building of Coogee Holiday (250 m2). There is an ondol room and a bathroom on the first floor. On the second floor, there is a bedroom with two queen beds, and two bedrooms with a queen bed and a super single bed each, a living room, and three bathrooms. The basic rate is for eight people, but can accommodate up to 14 guests. Coogee B Type is using the entire second floor of the building. The basic rate is for six guests, but up to seven people can stay. Coogee C Type and Coogee D Type are using a part of the second floor. Coogee E Type is using the entire space on the first floor. A different number of guests can stay depending on the space you book. Inside the guest rooms, there is a shelf full of comic books, PlayStation, a VR console, a washing machine, and a fully-equipped kitchen. The pension also has a variety of facilities that guests can use. Breakfast is served in a cafe-style 80-square-meter space. There is an outdoor swimming pool with supplies such as children’s life vests, water guns, ands swimming tubes. A mini heated pool for young children is also available with an additional fee. A barbecue area and karaoke machines are also available. In the morning, the pension serves breakfast such as seaweed soup, dried pollack soup, toast and salad (the menu changes everyday). You can also participate in a mandarin picking program in the farm owned by the pension, or go fishing on a boat that belongs to the pension. Parkjinsa Gotaek in Cheonggwang-ri,Goseong is an old house of Miryang Park Clan which is #292 Cultural Material. The traditional Korean style house shows the construction method of houses during the late Joseon Dynasty. Three generations of Sungkyunkwan officials were born in this house in a span of 100 years. There is a red gate of award of the king erected at the entrance of the house to cite the devoted son. The scenery over the window from any place inside the house is as pretty as a picture. The rooms in the house are composed of 2 Anchae (inner buildings) and 4 Sarangchae (outer buildings). Both Anchae and Sarangchae are equipped with restroom and shower room. The kitchen is only in the Anchae building. Sarangchae can be used as one wide room to accommodate a maximum 10 people; it’s done by simply opening the doors dividing the small rooms. The house is used for paid educational programs of traditional tea ceremony and etiquette. The old warehouse has been remolded to be a classroom for tea ceremony classes. The place is also used as a place for events; it’s equipped with a beam projector and sound equipment for hosting seminars, workshops, etc. There is a tea ceremony room made by remodeling a building attached to Sarangchae where you can learn the wisdom of ancestors over a warm tea.
