Seoul Independent Film Festival

The Seoul Independent Movie Festival is jointly held by the Korean Film Council and the Association of Korean Independent Film & Video. Seoul Independent Movie Festival volunteers have helped revive a “film jury system” for audience members to become critics. The Seoul Independent Movie Festival runs on a daily basis, which has been constantly expanded to distributing channels for independent films. It consists of two cozy guestrooms, each equipped with a bathroom. Among the guest house’s many charms is the panoramic view of Bukchon Hanok Village from its rooftop, which can be reached by a ladder. It also boasts the beauty of a traditional Korean house during the daytime and a spectacular view at nighttime. As it is an old hanok, the owner pays close attention to hygiene, and has the entire building regularly sterilized by a sanitary control company.

"Fireman" is a non-verbal performance that portrays the growth and development of silly and carefree trainees into courageous and trustworthy firefighters. The stage will grab the attention of the audience with acrobatic techniques, parkour, and b-boying movements. International audience can enjoy the show without any language barrier as the performance is non-verbal, meaning the play is carried out using only body movements and facial expressions to deliver the story. Since its first stage in 2015, the act went on an international tour and won the Grand Prize in Popular Culture category during the Korea Hallyu Awards in 2016.

The kitchen of the restaurant is divided into five different sections each offering its own carefully selected cuisine. As one of the traditional houses located in an alley in the residential area of Chebu-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Nuri Guesthouse is a tile-roofed house with four guestrooms. You must pass through the wooden gate and a small front yard, where you will see a small garden and an array of earthen jars where traditional Korean sauces are stored. The eaves and ceiling beams are made of logs, and the sliding doors are also made of wood just like in the old days. The shower rooms and bathrooms are located in the front yard for common use among the guests. The bathroom is furnished with a bathtub and a washing machine. The kitchen is also shared and is open all day. There is a table in the living room for guests to have a simple snack. There are also outdoor barbecue facilities in the front yard that can be used for a fee. You must make a reservation in order to use the barbecue facilities. The guesthouse is conveniently located in Jongno-gu, Seoul, but the alley is too narrow to park cars.
