The best cultural theme park in the nation, the Korean Folk Village is hosting the '2016 Welcome to Joseon' Korean Folk Village Joseon Live Variety Festival from April 9 to June 12, 2016. It is the most representative spring festival of the Korean Folk Village and this year in particular, new parades have been added, along with upgraded version of the 'Fusion Madanggeuk: Birthday party of the Governor' will be held.  With a record of 1 million views on their highlight act featuring the 'flower beggar', 'merchant', 'gisaeng,' and new characters selected from the 'Joseon Characters Audition 3', a total of 22 actors will be seen performing in the acts. With Joseon dynasty as background, visitors may time travel back into a fantasy world with the characters in a interesting and real comedy act.  Besides, a variety of traditional and fun experiences including 'Traditional Costume Experience', making of mapae (transportation card used in the Joseon era), hopa (identity card) and fragrance pouch are also available for all visitors regardless of age and gender.

Yeoju has been producing ceramics ever since the early Goryeo period (AD 918-1392), and through the production of high-quality Goryeongto (Kaolin) and Baekto (white clay), it played an integral role in the development of the early ceramic industry. Yeoju laid the foundations for becoming a major ceramic city by hosting the World Ceramics Expo in 2001. And since hosting the World Ceramics Biennale in 2003 and 2005, it is now internationally recognized as a world center for ceramics.Started in May 1990, the Yeoju Ceramic Festival is held every year to promote the excellence of its ceramics both nationwide and abroad. As the first and best ceramic festival in Korea, the festival exhibits unique, high quality ceramic artwork and products. At the festival, you can see works of art by ceramics masters and buy a variety of ceramic products at discounted prices.


Gyeonggi-do(Pyeongtaek-si) , Pyeongtaek

Located on Jaraseom Island, Gapyeong Ewhawon Garden was renewed in 2015, spanning over an area of 10,000 pyeong with a 330 pyeong butterfly ecology center, the largest butterfly park in the world. The park offers live butterflies and butterfly specimens all year long through the use of a warm house. Visitors can look at various exhibitions and get to know about butterflies and plants with detailed explanations by professional guides. Nearby attractions include Jaraseom Island and camping sites or venues for varied festivals.


Gyeonggi-do(Gapyeong-gun)

The town of Cheongpyeong was named after the area's clear waters.  Located not too far from the station are Cheongpyeong Dam and Homyeong Lake, and the winding course of Cheongpyeongcheon Stream is quite a sight to behold. Cheongpyeong Station is also a gateway for tourists visiting Homyeongsan Mountain, Homyeong Lake, Anjeon Recreation Area, The Garden of Morning Calm, and Petite France. The station opened on July 25, 1939 upon the opening of the Gyeongchun Line. It was originally located at 338 Chongpyeong-ri, Cheongpyeong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, and was later moved to its current location on September 1, 2009. The Gyeongchun Line finished upgrading its double-tracked line in 2010; the new alignment opened and the old one closed on December 21, 2010.


Gyeonggi-do(Goyang-si)

The name Cheonma was given by King Taejo, the founder of the Joseon dynasty. It means a mountain that is high enough to touch the sky. The mountain is renowned for its beauty year-round, being snow-capped in winter; erupting in fresh verdure during spring; taking on a deep, lush green hue in summer and a myriad of colors in the fall. The mountain’s proximity to Seoul and its pristine spring waters that rush over the cliffs on the southwest face, make the mountain a popular destination. Mt. Cheonma is perfect for a day hike with its lush forests and natural springs where fresh healthy waters well up from the ground.
