Donggureung Royal Tomb [UNESCO World Heritage]
Gyeonggi-do(Guri-si) , Guri

Donggureung Tombs are located in a large forest area, and they are the resting place of Joseon's kings and queens. There are nine royal mausoleums and seventeen graves in total. The tombs are very large compared to other tombs in Korea, and the surrounding forest adds to the scenery. The nine royal mausoleums include the tomb of Joseon Dynasty’s founder King Taejo (1335-1408), which is called Geonwolleung (건원릉).All around the mausoleums are thick forests, and between the graves there are casual walking trails. An especially famous part of the Donggureung Tomb area is the historically significant field of purple eulalia reeds. The long reeds are said to have been transplanted from King Taejo’s hometown in the Hamheung region. The burial site carries 600 years of Joseon history with it.

Anseong Namsadang Baudeogi Saturday Performances

Baudeogi made history by becoming the first female entertainer in Korea to lead the vaudeville troupe Namsadangpae. Armed with her artistic personality and an array of special talents, Baudeogi entertained the construction workers working on Gyeongbokgung Palace in the 19th century with popular folk performances. In recent years, Namsadang’s Jeonsugwan was recreated to share the indomitable spirit and artistic talents of Baudeogi with the people of today.The reformatted performance is comprised of six exciting acts of Namsadang: Salpan (a tumbling performance), Deolmi (a puppet show), Deotboegi (a mask show), Pungmulnori (a traditional folk dance), Beonanori (spinning hoops and dishes), and Eoreum Jultagi (tightrope walking). Much like in the olden days, the show embodies the spirit of coming together and is a fascinating and energetic display of folk art that is as captivating the first time you see it as it is the hundredth.Major Highlights: The most popular portion of the program is the tightrope walking act called “Eoreum Jultagi,” which starts with audiences breathlessly watching the risky tricks upon the rope and ends with thunderous rounds of applause.

KOFIC Namyangju Studios

Located in Joan-myeon, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, KOFIC Namyangju Studios is a film-making studio complex built on a 1,323,113㎡ site with an outdoor filming studio, 6 indoor studios of different sizes, a recording studio, and various film-making equipment. More specifically, the complex has large-scale outdoor sets that were made to shoot Korean movies J.S.A. and Chihwaseon (Painted Fire). Mongolia Culture Town

Established upon the signing of a friendship pact between the city of Namyangju and the Mongolian capital city of Ulaanbaatar, Mongol Cultural Village is a unique place in Korea where visitors can experience the traditional culture of Mongolia.Inside the exhibition hall, about 800 items from Mongolia including traditional clothes, instrument and household goods are on display. Also, there is a performance hall with 320 seats where visitors can enjoy various cultural arts shows. While residing in the village, the 19 members of the Mongolian cultural arts performance group put on traditional music and dance performances and rope circuses. Performances are held twice on a regular day, and three times a day on national holidays and from July through August.

Special Exhibition My Love from the Star

The special exhibition of the Korean TV drama "My Love from the Star," which was met with huge popularity in many parts of Asia, has moved from Art Hall 1 at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) to Ilsan Kintex (Korea International Exhibition Center). Both domestic and international visitors are welcome to the event, which is to be held at the outdoor venue of Exhibition Center II in Kintex.
