Bibimbap Guest House (비빔밥게스트하우스)[한국관광품질인증/Korea Quality]

Bibimbap Guesthouse is located in Ikseon-dong, Jongno-gu, which is known for old stores, bars, and rustic hanok buildings with charms different from other hanok villages such as Seochon and Bukchon. It is run by young brothers based on their know-how accumulated from working at other guesthouses for several years. This hanok-style guesthouse was named “Bibimbap” in the hope that it will be a house for everyone that retains various aspects of Korea. In keeping with its name, the guesthouse serves Bibimbap for breakfast. It is popular among foreign guests because the guesthouse is adjacent to Korea’s major cultural heritages including Changdeokgung Palace, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Jongmyo Shrine as well as other interesting attractions such as Nagwon Arcade. Bibimbap Guesthouse was established by modernizing a hanok building over 100 years old and opened in April 2015. Every room has two windows for ventilation as well as air conditioner and toilets. The laundry room is also designed for communal use. It has a total of seven rooms – 1 single room, 1 triple room, 1 family room, and 4 twin rooms. Every room has a mattress for those who are not familiar with the Korean-style (floor-heated) room and a subtle lighting system under the maroon-colored rafters. It also offers a Korean traditional clothes experience free of charge for guests. Guests are recommended to walk around the area of Ikseon-dong -- nicknamed “a village where time stood still” -- and which provides its unique charms. Its surrounding tourist destinations include Insa-dong, Samcheong-dong, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Deoksugung Palace, and Changdeokgung Palace.

Yeonwoo Guesthouse is a quiet and cozy traditional Korean guest house (hanok) located in Gahoe-dong, Jongnogu in Bukchon Hanok Village, a charming area crisscrossed with a labyrinth of old alleyways. As it is close to some of Seoul’s most famous tourist attractions, including Changgyeonggung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace and Gyeongbokgung Palace, many tourists from Southeast Asia and Europe book a stay here. It consists of two cozy guestrooms, each equipped with a bathroom. Among the guest house’s many charms is the panoramic view of Bukchon Hanok Village from its rooftop, which can be reached by a ladder. It also boasts the beauty of a traditional Korean house during the daytime and a spectacular view at nighttime. As it is an old hanok, the owner pays close attention to hygiene, and has the entire building regularly sterilized by a sanitary control company.

Wiki Cafe

Wiki Cafe is a cafe near Gyeongbokgung Palace and is owned and operated by the mother of Sung Min from Super Junior, the famous boy band. With light steps, and just as if you are in your neighbor’s home, you can walk up the wooden stairs to the 2nd floor of the cafe, which is a terrace, and on that terrace, you can see a view Gyeongbokgung Palace. During the evening, as lights fall on the rampart stairs of Kwangwhamun, it creates/exudes a very warm mood. It is a good place to rest after viewing Gyeongbokgung Palace, Kwangwhamun Plaza, and galleries around these attractions. Its menu is filled with beverages such as coffee and teas, desserts such as waffles, cakes, and many other varieties of desserts. Imagine what it would be like: having a warm cup of tea while sitting on a terrace that overlooks Gyeongbokung Palace.   In the cafe, there are all kinds of pictorials and photos of Sung Min from Super Junior. Also, on one corner in the cafe, there are many messages from fans written on the wall, and they are countless! There are also various forms of merchandise that are sold there; the merch shows different characterized versions of Sung Min

Seochon Traditional Sundae Soup House

Seochon Traditional Sundae Soup House is considered a must-visit destination. It was shown in the Korean drama series, “Doctors, as a restaurant owned by the father of the main character, Yoo Hye Jung (actress: Park Shin Hye). It is known for its special deep-tasting beef broth, which they brew with marrowbone for 24 hours. Its old-fashioned, traditional style Hanok architecture and its neat interior evokes the Korean traditional castle: Gyeongbokgung and its surroundings. Not only is the Sundae Soup first in its class, the in-house Kimchi is one of the best in its category as well. After the meal, don’t forget to take a photo where the “Doctors” couple, Jiho-Hyejung, enjoyed rice soup.

Royal Culture Festival

Cultural Heritage Administration, Royal Culture Festival Organizing Committee / Dae Han Imperial House Korea's beautiful palaces and the royal culture they present have great value as precious tangible and intangible heritages. The Royal Culture festival is held at the Four Royal Palaces and Jongmyo Shrine, allowing visitors to get first-hand knowledge of their value. Each of the five venues will have unique performances, exhibitions, experiences and programs set within the individual traits of the palaces and Jongmyo Shrine. The palaces and Jongmyo Shrine, which have kept their place forhundreds of years, will be hosting the Royal Culture Festival for ten daysfrom April 28 to May 7. Marking its third anniversary, the Royal PalaceFestival is a cultural heritage festival that reinterprets the court cultureand historical background of each palace. Twinkle Concert in the Palace

The Twinkle Concert in the Palace concert series runs at 2pm and 4pm on the last Saturday and Sunday of the month in May, June, September and October. The concert series provides an opportunity for tourists to enjoy traditional culture and music, as well as the chance for young performers to show their passion and creativity. The concert is free to all visitors to Gyeongbokgung Palace.

Tongyeong Sebyeonggwan Hall
Gyeongsangnam-do(Tongyeong-si)

Sebyeonggwan Hall, located in Tongyeong, Gyeongsangnam-do Province, was established in 1605 by the 6 generation commander-in-chief Lee Kyung-jun and is well known as one of the widest buildings of the Joseon Dynasty Period along with Gyeonghoeru Pavilion in Gyeongbokgung Palace and Jinnamgwan Hall in Yoesu-si.Sebyoenggwan Hall is placed at the foot of Yeohwangsan Mountain and overlooks Tongyeong. Right next to the hall, are the remains of the naval base Tongjeyeong, which includes Unjudang (also named as Jeseungdang, a military education center for the Joseon Navy) among others.Sebyeonggwan Hall symbolizes the ending of the war, the washing away and cleaning up of the weapons of war.

Buan Cine Theme Park

Buan Cine Theme Park is a large film production complex in Gyeokpo-ri, Byeonsan-myeon, Buan-gun measuring a total of 148,400 square meters in area. The park is comprised of a two main sections: a folk village (89,696 m²) and an indoor studio called Sunset Village (58,704m²). Inside the folk village, Korea’s representative royal palace (Gyeongbokgung Palace) has been recreated along with traditional houses of the noble class, village schools, traditional streets, a pond, a fortress, and more. The park became famous after serving as the main filming location for popular Korean movies “The King and The Clown” (2005), “Hwang Jin-yi” (2007), and “The Sword With No Name” (2009).

Anseong Namsadang Baudeogi Saturday Performances

Baudeogi made history by becoming the first female entertainer in Korea to lead the vaudeville troupe Namsadangpae. Armed with her artistic personality and an array of special talents, Baudeogi entertained the construction workers working on Gyeongbokgung Palace in the 19th century with popular folk performances. In recent years, Namsadang’s Jeonsugwan was recreated to share the indomitable spirit and artistic talents of Baudeogi with the people of today.The reformatted performance is comprised of six exciting acts of Namsadang: Salpan (a tumbling performance), Deolmi (a puppet show), Deotboegi (a mask show), Pungmulnori (a traditional folk dance), Beonanori (spinning hoops and dishes), and Eoreum Jultagi (tightrope walking). Much like in the olden days, the show embodies the spirit of coming together and is a fascinating and energetic display of folk art that is as captivating the first time you see it as it is the hundredth.Major Highlights: The most popular portion of the program is the tightrope walking act called “Eoreum Jultagi,” which starts with audiences breathlessly watching the risky tricks upon the rope and ends with thunderous rounds of applause.
