Damyang Bamboo Festival
Jeollanam-do(Damyang-gun)

Located within a forest of 2.4 kilometers of bamboo, this festival is full of activities celebrating the beauty and function of the bamboo plant. More active visitors can test their skills during some of the festival’s scheduled river sports, such as ‘Log Rafting’ and ‘Water Bicycling’. After working up an appetite, visitors can please their palate with some of Damyang’s famous cuisines and other world foods featured at the Cultural Experience Center. For additional sightseeing opportunities, visit some of the other attractions in the area, such as the Damyang Soswaewon, Damyang Gwanbangjerim, Damyang Jungnogwon, Metasequoia, and more.

Yeongnamnu Pavilion
Gyeongsangnam-do(Miryang-si)

Located on Mt. Adongsan next to Namcheongang River in Miryang, Yeongnamnu (National Treasure No. 147) is one of three great pavilions of Korea together with Chokseoknu Pavilion of Jinju and Bubyeoknu Pavillion of Pyeongyang.A two-story-pavilion with a hip-and-gable roof was constructed on this same site during the Silla period, as part of Yeongnamsa Temple, which was one of the five great temples at that time. The pavilion was torn down and re-constructed during the rule of King Gongmin of the Goryeo Dynasty. The current structure was built in 1884 according to the design of the then-magistrate Yi In-jae.The pavilion area consists of Neungpagak, Chimryugak, Sajumum Gate, Iljumun Gate and Cheonjingung. Stone-carved calligraphy from the Joseon Period abounds in the pavilion complex, drawing many visitors.

Ulsan Whale Festival
Gyeongsangnam-do(Geochang-gun)

Ulsan Whale Festival is held in the area of Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Special Zone. The area is equipped with more things that allow visitors to see this new cultural village, such as the whale museum, Jangsaengpo Whale Watching Cruise, and Jangsaengpo Whale Life Experience Museum. The new variety of sites at the festival will give visitors an extra level of fun and discovery.

Rock-carved Standing Buddha in Icheon-dong, Andong
Gyeongsangbuk-do(Andong-si)

Maaekseobulsang (Rock-carved Standing Buddha in Icheon-dong, Andong) is a huge statue. This Buddhist image’s head stands 2.43 meters tall, while the entire statue stretches 12.38 meters high. These days, Jebiwan Temple has been built near the statue, so it has been dubbed “Jebiwan Seokbul.”The body of the large stone Buddha face has been carved into the rock. The statue is in the style of Koryeo (AD 918-1392) Dynasty, with distinctive contouring. This unique style is indicative of those prevalent during the 11th Century.

Badabaragi is a restaurant with an ocean view in the Buk-gu district of Ulsan, specializing in snow crabs and fresh raw fish. Featuring elegant exterior and interior designs, the restaurant also offers some light meal options in addition to sliced raw fish and snow crab dishes. Only the freshest fish caught and delivered each day are served. The restaurant also operates a snow crab market, thereby offers snow crab dishes at affordable prices. A variety of side dishes made with fresh seafood accompany the main dishes. Abalone or conch porridge is available for young children who cannot eat raw fish or snow crab. A popular menu item is jjambbong mulhoe (mixed sliced raw fish with water and spicy sauce).

Jirisan Family Hotel

The Korean Teachers’ Credit Union (KTCU) opened The-K Jirisan Family Hotel inside Jirisan Tourism Complex, followed by The-K Hotel Seoul, Gyeongju, and Seoraksan Family Hotel. Designated as National Park No. 1, Jirisan Mountain National Park spans three provinces and five counties, and is regarded as one of eight top scenic sites as well as one of five noted mountains in Korea. The-K Family Hotel is comprised of 134 condo-style rooms, a coffee shop, a cafeteria, as well as a sauna that has high-quality spring water. There is also a large banquet room, a meeting room, a large indoor swimming pool, and a spare playing area, all of which are perfect for various activities like seminars or school trips to accommodate visiting groups.

Mageumsan Hot Springs
Gyeongsangnam-do(Changwon-si)

Also referred to as Buk-myeon Hot Springs after the name of the region, Mageumsan Hot Springs is 13km north of Rural Route 1045 from Euichang-dong in Changwon and takes approximately 20 minutes to get to by car. Mageumsan Hot Springs rises 200m above sea level, contains a slightly alkaline enriched water of 55℃ or more, and consists of over 20 mineral substances including natrium, radium, manganese, ion sulfate, and others. Mageumsan Hot Springs are known to be effective in helping arthritis, women's diseases, neuralgia, depression, etc., and are frequently visited by travelers.Records of Mageumsan Hot Springs are listed in the ancient texts of King Sejong's Geographical Book, Survey on Civilization (Dongguk-yeojiseungnam), and more, illustrating that these hot springs were of great importance in ages past. The hot springs were temporarily closed in the later period of the Joseon Dynasty but were reopened by a man named Tokunaga from Japan. Later, Jin-Il Sohn, a resident of the area took ownership of the hot springs.Outstanding scenery complements the hot springs with Cheonmasan Mountain (370m), Mageumsan Mountain and Baekweolsan Mountain (400m) located nearby. In particular, there is a legend that surrounds Baekweolsan Mountain and people like to climb this mountain and then relax by bathing in the hot springs.

Ilpummaeu Restaurant

Ilpummaeu, located in Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do, is a restaurant specializing in beef dishes seasoned with maesil (plum; Japanese apricot). The Hanu (Korean beef) becomes more flavorful with the addition of maesil soybean paste and maesil red pepper paste. Their menu includes yangnyeom galbi (marinated beef ribs), galbisal (beef short ribs), saenggalbi (beef ribs), anchangsal (skirt steak) and more.
