Hwangnamgwan

Located in Gyeongju City, Hwangnamgwan is a traditional Korean style accommodation which opened in April 2014. The place looks like a small hanok village with 4 one-story buildings and 2 two-story buildings, constructed on about 5000㎡ of building site. The buildings are equipped with modern convenience facilities but manage to preserve the antique flavor of traditional Korean house. All rooms are equipped with a bathroom. A bathtub is installed in the largest room, Numaru Suite. Auxiliary facilities include the seminar room which is located in the two-story building. There are a cafe and a pizza restaurant on the first floor for meetings or simple meals. Guests are given discount coupons for the cafe. Various traditional plays can be enjoyed in the hanok. It is possible to take photos with the beautiful Hwangnamgwan building in the background wearing traditional Korean clothes. You can also play Neolttwigi, Tuho, and Jegichagi in the wide yard and experience twisting legs, bastinado, turning the millstone, fulling, Pogurak (dancing play), etc. which have appeared on TV dramas. Hambaeksan Mountain
Gangwon-do(Taebaek-si)

With an elevation of 1,573 meters above sea level, Hambaeksan Mountain is the tallest mountain in the eastern part of Gangwon-do Province. The main ridge of the mountain stretches between the city of Taebaek to the east and Yeongwol and Jeongseon counties to the west. The mountain offers a fine vantage point from which to get a sweeping look at the entire region (including Taebaeksan and Baegunsan mountains) and commands a striking view of the sunrise over East Sea. The three starting points for hiking Hambaeksan Mountain are Dumundongjae Pass, Manhangjae Pass, and the entrance to the Jeokjoam Hermitage. The hiking path that begins at Dumundongjae Pass and leads to the peak is especially recommended for its scenic views. Hambaeksan Mountain is particularly well known for its breathtaking snowscapes and extensive wildflower beds. Hambeaksan Mountain is also home to Jeongamsa Temple, which was built by Buddhist monk Jajangyulsa in the year 636 during the reign of Queen Seondeok of the Silla Kingdom. The temple is home to the Sumanotap Pagoda (Treasure No. 410) and is bordered by a stream that provides a natural habitat for the Brachmystax lenok (Natural Monument No. 73), a member of the trout family.

Pungsongjae is a hanok accommodation located in New Hanok Village of Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Government Complex in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do. The owner built the hanok house using Korean red pine from Bonghwa-gun to highlight the beauty of hanok architecture. You can really feel a master craftsmanship in every part of the house, including the double eaves, lofty gate and pillars. Designed with the beauty of traditional hanok architecture in mind, the accommodation also provides convenience with private bathrooms inside the guest rooms. As the hanok house was newly built in 2018, all facilities are clean and pleasant. A wide-open grass lawn greets guests past the front gate, revealing a sightly scene of hanok architecture and a pine grove in the background. As soon as you step inside, you will feel like you are traveling back in time to the Joseon dynasty. There are three guest rooms available at Pungsongjae. Pungsil and Sarangbang are ideal for two people, but the accommodation accepts bookings for a family of four or less. Songsil is a cute little room that is ideal for couples. Pungsil is equipped with an induction stove, a microwave, a rice cooker, an electric kettle and tableware, so the guest can cook inside the room. Cooking is not allowed inside Songsil and Sarangbang. The most noticeable place in Pungsongjae is the quaint attic-like numaru space. The name Pungsongjae was inspired by the space as a house with a spectacular view of a lush pine grove. When you lie down, you can enjoy a picturesque view of the pine grove outside. Pungsongjae is 10 minutes from Hahoe Village, and 15 minutes from Byeongsanseowon Confucian Academy.
