Gyeongsangbuk-do(Gyeongju-si)

Silla Sori Festival mainly focuses on the King Seongdeok Divine Bell (Emille Bell), established during the Unified Silla period, and takes place in Gyeongju, embracing its thousand-year-old heritage. The festival is managed by BBS (Buddhist Broadcasting System), and sponsored by Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Bulguksa Temple and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The festival venue is a grass field around Cheomseongdae Observatory, where the varied programs such as the tolling of the model Emille Bell, weighting about 6 tons, and Silla Culture experience, reappearance of Silla Gandeunghoe (lamp ceremony) and others are prepared. The festival has been held since 2012 to acknowledge the value of the ‘King Seongdeok Divine Bell’, featuring the most beautiful bell existing in the world, made in our own way, and honoring the spirit.


Gyeongsangbuk-do(Gyeongju-si)

Hallyu Dream Festival is a three-day celebration of everything Hallyu (Korean cultural wave). Chungcheongnam-do(Taean-gun)

Cheollipo Arboretum located in Taean Coast National Marine Park was built in 1966 by C. Ferris Miller. The park currently contains approximately 14,000 different plant species, including some rare and endangered species. [Suggestion: Officially recognized by the International Society of Arboriculture, the arboretum is one of the most beautiful in Korea.This arboretum consists of 7 areas (ex: Main Garden, Dakseom Island, Sea Dune Area, etc.) on a 595,044m² (180,000 pyeong) of land. Almost 7,000 different species have been collected for nearly 3 decades. The arboretum also enjoys a coastal climate, and can sustain a variety of plant species from subarctic to subtropical environments. Tours are available throughout the year.The value of Magnolia kobus (1,800 plants in 450 species) and Ilex cornuta (400 species) received international recognition during the hosting of the World Magnolia kobus Seminar in 1997 and World Ilex cornuta Seminar in 1998. Chungcheongnam-do(Nonsan-si)

Gyebaek (? - 660) was a general in the ancient Korean kingdom of Baekje. This historic site is not far from Hwangsanbeol, the last battlefield of General Gyebaek who fell defending Baekje at the end of its days. Allied troops from Silla and Tang attacked Tanhyeon and Baekgang, strategic sites held by Baekje, in 660 (the 20th year of King Uija’s reign). General Gyebaek and his 5,000 soldiers fought against General Kim Yu-sin and his 50,000 soldiers. General Gyebaek successfully defeated the allied troops four times, but was ultimately unable to overcome the insurmountable numbers brought to bear by his foe. The Baekje army was finally defeated, and the last general of Baekje, Gyebaek, died in the battle.


Seoul(Gangnam-gu) , Gangnam・Samseongdong(COEX)

Every autumn, the World Trade Center Chrysanthemum Festival is held, covering downtown in beautiful chrysanthemums. During the festival, various participating programs and additional events are prepared within the theme of chrysanthemum.


Gyeonggi-do(Yeoju-si) , Yeoju

Situated in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, the Silleuksa Temple Resort (신륵사관광지) features countless relics and remains, awe-inspiring scenery, the Geumeun Sand Zone, and Silleuksa Temple. Silleuksa Temple is also referred to as the byeokjeol (‘walled temple’ because it has a pagoda made entirely of bricks). The pagoda was erected by the renowned Buddhist monk Wonhyo during the Silla Kingdom, and is visited by many who are drawn to the beautiful natural scenery along the banks of the Namhangang River, which is served by convenient transportation. Geumeun Sand Zone Shade is provided by the roughly 200 zelkova trees that are 30 to 50 years old. There are also washrooms, water supply facilities, and parking areas, making the area a good place for camping and swimming by the river’s banks. The area also features boating facilities and offers visitors the chance to collect some of the uniquely shaped stones that are scattered along the riverside. Along the shoreline, visitors will find a shopping center, rest facilities, a video arcade, amusement facilities (16 attractions in addition to a Viking-ship ride), and other facilities to satisfy the various tastes of visitors to the resort. Silleuksa Temple District With lodging available at the Silleuksa Temple Resort, the district is winning attention as a tourist destination, along with the tomb of King Sejong and the Moga Buddhist Museum, the area between Yeoju Bridge to Silleuksa Temple is an inviting place for romantic walk. There is also a natural reed field along the river, a putting green, parking areas, lodging, restaurants, local product stores, water fountains and a sports park.


Busan(Jung-gu)

Located in Gukje Market near Gwangbokno Road at the heart of Busan, Keunjip restaurant is quite accessible; but it is a little difficult for first-time visitors to locate the exact entrance. Still, the serving staff welcomes everyone at the door and offers a variety of seafood ‘jjim’ (steamed dishes) and ‘hanjeongsik’ (Korean table d’hote). Don’t forget to try Keun Jip’s ‘bulgogi jjim’ (marinated and steamed beef) served with tasty ‘gejang’ (uncooked crab preserved in soy sauce), everyone’s favorite ‘kimchi’, nutritious ‘toran’ (taro dishes), and 10 other side dishes. Another delicacy is ‘haemul jjim’ (steamed seafood) which is seasoned with hot spices and served with ‘kongnamul’ (bean sprouts).


Gyeonggi-do(Siheung-si)
