Taepyeong Yeomsaeng Botanical Garden is located next to one of the largest solar-evaporation salt fields, and spans over an area of 110,000㎡. Over 70 species of various salt plant colonies grow at the natural mud flat including glasswort, sea-blite, East Asian seepweed, and Herbaceous seepweed to create a splendid scene. Also, one can easily see Tti (a plant) which can not grow in polluted places. Walking along the 220m-long walking path, diverse mud flat creatures like mudskipper, chilge (crab), bangge (crab) and gastropods can be met with close sight.

Bijindo Island

Bijindo’s shape is often compared to that of a barbell because of the thin strip of land connecting the two ends of the island together. White sand and calm waves can be found along the island’s west coast while on the east coast, bigger waves break against a bed of pebbles on the beach. Thanks to the shape of the island, one can watch the sun rise and set from the same location.Bijindo Island is located just off the coast of Tongyeong in Hansan-myeon. As Bijindo is part of Hallyeohaesang National Marine Park, one can also find other beautiful islands nearby.

Gongseri Catholic Church
Chungcheongnam-do(Asan-si)

Gongseri Catholic Church is the main Catholic parish, which was built in 1894 on the hill of Gongseri, Inju-myeon that connects Asanman Bay to Sapgyocheon. Early missionaries landed here to begin their work. A common house was used as a church in the early years however, in 1897 a rectory was built and in 1922, the main church was created. This was the first church in Chungcheongnam-do and it was divided in different locations such as Gongju, Anseong, Onyang and Dunpo. The grounds have three graveyards of prosecuted martyrs, 4626 sq.ft. area parish and rectory, retreat house, meeting room as well as beautiful view of the green including an old zelkova tree.

Paraeso Falls

If you go south from Seoknamsa Temple coming off Mt. Gajisan, you will arrive at Deokhyeongjae, and if you continue walking south, you will see Baenaegol (valley), within which you will find the Paraeso Falls. Because of the rugged road leading toward these scenic falls, they have remained somewhat hidden and off the beaten track. The captivating falls cascade downward from a x_height of 15 meters, spraying white clouds of mist as the waters reach the bottom. The falls feed into a wide pond below, 100 meters in diameter. The falls and surrounding valley are a popular attraction during the summer for those hikers eager to escape from the summer heat and to enjoy a therapeutic walk in the nearby natural forest.
