Suncheonman Bay National Garden

The Suncheon Bay Garden was established in order to turn 1.12 square kilometers of natural habitat into a conservation area, where it houses over 505 species of trees and 113 species of flowers. Especially, the numerous groups of tulips and royal azaleas are truly a sight to see. In addition, the nearby 30,000-square-meter field of canola flowers is in full bloom in May, which creates a beautiful yellow "wave" of color and trees make a great shades of canopy for the area. Getting there is fairly easy as buses and an unmanned shuttle train (PRT) opened along with the Suncheon Bay Garden and Suncheon Literature Center district (4.64 km) are available for service. Visitors can hop on the PRT and go to the literature center, then also ride the train along the 1.2-kilometer stretch of reeds to Mujingyo Bridge.

BENIKEA Jeonju Hansung Tourist Hotel

Jeonju Hansung Tourist Hotel started as an inn for business travelers in 1949. 60 years later, it stands in the center of Jeonju, providing easy access to numerous cultural sites such as the Hanok village (Korean folk village) and the Gaeksa (Jeonju traditional tourist inn). All guest rooms and hallways in the hotel are decorated with Hanji (traditional Korean paper) and red clay wallpaper. Also, there are about 100 pieces of artwork by 20 local artists throughout the hotel, creating a gallery-like atmosphere.

Gami

Since 1975, Gami has been a beloved Korean diner specializing in noodle dishes. Any local would agree that recommending just one item to try at Gami is near impossible, so we will list a few of our favorites: udong (udon), bibim-guksu (noodles with veggie, meat and spicy sauce), bajirak-cham-guksu (noodle soup with clams), gul-kalguksu (hand-rolled noodle soup with oyster), dak-kalguksu (hand-rolled noodle in chicken broth), Gaseuo Udong (Katsuo udon), jjolmyeon (chewy cold noodle), dolsot-bibimbap (bibimbap in a hot stone pot), doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew), and kimchi-jjigae (kimchi stew). The hand-rolled rice dishes (think onigiri) have persisted as a long standing favorite as well. And if you have room after a delicious meal, then try their shaved ice deserts, an especially refreshing treat in the summer.

Boryeong Mud Skincare Center also features various hands-on activities and facilities. The Boryeong Mud Festival is held every July.

Charmsori Gramophone & Edison Science Museum

Charmsori Gramophone & Edison Science Museum founded by Son Seongmok is the largest gramophone museum in the world. It has a collection of 4,500 phonographs, 150,000 phonograph records, 1,000 books, and 5,000 items from 20 nations.1) World of Sound: The place for history of Sound. It displays gothic and renaissance organs, music boxes, radios and record players.2) World of Image: The place for silent films and biography films of masterminds and Edison. It displays Edison projectors and televisions, especially one made by Baird, John Logie (1888.8.13 ~ 1946.6.14) in 1925.3) World of Light: Displays items from Gas lamps to the original light bulb that Edison made, an electric generator of those days, the bamboo filament light bulb and the first wall-attached electric lamp. The wall-attached electric lamp is the part of the collection that was successfully accepted at Sotheby's auction in 1992.4) Edison Invention Hall: Displays 850 inventions of Edison's, including t three of his greatest inventions - phonographs, light bulbs and projectors. Seongbukdong Dwaejigalbijip

In business for more than 40 years, Seongbukdong Dwaejigalbijip (성북동 돼지갈비집) has become a local legend thanks to its simple but savory menu. Pork served at the restaurant is marinated overnight in a special sauce, which infuses the meat with rich flavors that are released when the meat is grilled and the fat drips off. The restaurant’s main dishes include Dwaeji Galbi and Dwaeji Bulgogi Baekban (set meal with Bulgogi meat grilled over the fire).

Sarabong Park
Jeju-do(Jeju-si) , Former Jeju

Sarabong Park is a 143-meter hill located just east of Dongmun Rotary in Jeju. The park is best known for its spectacular sunset views, which is often regarded as a perfect complement to Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak's view of the sunrise.To the north of Sarabong Park is a spectacular view of the expansive blue waters and to the south is Hallasan Mountain. Along the way to the park is Mochungsa Temple and to the east lies Byeoldobong Peak, where a paragliding runway is located. At the foot of Sarabong is Udang Library. The road from the library, passing behind Sarabong Peak to Jeju Harbor and to Tapdong provides a very scenic driving route.

Seokbinggo
Gyeongsangbuk-do(Gyeongju-si)

Seokbinggo means a freezer made of rocks. It is an ancient refrigerator only in Korea. It is located in Gyeongju, the ancient capital of the Silla Era (BC57-AD935). The appearance of this wonderful vestige is humble and simple. But you will not be disappointed at the entrance of the freezer. You can feel the cold from inside the structure. Half of Seokbinggo is underground while the other half is above ground, signifying the scientific propensity of Korea. The floor, walls, and ceiling are made of granite and have an airway. The walls are covered with limestone to keep off moisture and water. The floor is slanted to allow melted ice to funnel out. Frozen ice was popular for the upper class. From historical annals, it is assumed that Seokbinggo was made at least 1,500 years ago. Seokbbingo has been designated as National Treasure No. 66.
